Coffin Drop by cdunham 2021-05-01T13:42:06Z

Neat design and concept, but it's a pretty clunky interface and a little cumbersome. I was confused about how exactly to dig the holes, the input seemed rather strange. I thought I should hold the mouse down but that made the system not work. Some more audio design would add a lot to the experience. I think the main thing that stops it from being a 'fun' experience is the lack of reward for objective completion (audio / powerups / weapons / less zombies / etc). Though I understand, it is still an impressive accomplishment for a weekend. Nice job :) Also, if there is anything worth expanding on, it's the throwing mechanic. It makes me laugh every time.

Mind Hack by DivFord 2021-05-01T13:34:26Z

Impressive amount of content and variety of enemies/AI. Nice game over screen too, not enough of them in jam games anymore :) I also was reminded of Psychonauts immediately (the bull in enemies' minds especially). Due to the lack of vertical mouse input, the controls might make more sense all on the keyboard, similar to original Doom and DOS-era FPS games. I found myself strafing to align myself with enemies because it was easier than rotating the player.

Conspiracy Dive by wizard sino 2021-05-01T13:09:28Z

Neat little game. I appreciated the pi puzzle and the google one. The third one tripped me up a little because no "press I" prompt on the bookshelf. The art style has a nice touch and the 3d perspective of the 2d sprites is a nice touch. Neat entry, funny ending.

Journey for Wife by Drew Long 2021-05-01T13:20:11Z

The art is delightful and very impressive for a weekend jam. Gameplay is a bit frustrating due to some collision issues. It seemed jump would fail at moments when it was absolutely critical, like it took a little too long to register "OnGround" state which led to me falling in the lava too many times. Thoroughly unforgiving as some others mentioned. With so much death, maybe the music should continue on retry instead of starting over.

SCHWOOP - the antiplatformer by Skye S 2021-05-01T13:14:02Z

Fun 'anti platformer.' The music goes well and the mechanics are simple to learn yet hard to master. Might be a neat effect if the music tempo were to increase with the player velocity? A few different mechanics would be cool to see too, maybe usage of the walls somehow. Good concept for a mobile game.

A Disguised Far Muse by intrepidhero 2021-05-01T13:27:40Z

I'm intrigued but confused, took a lot of referring back to LD page to figure out mechanics. A tutorial of some sorts or clearer defined goals for the player would be neat. The simple are and animations are pretty charming. With some audio and a few more art assets this could give some very nice atmosphere.

Off the Hook by OccultOne 2018-04-27T19:52:30Z

Wonderful entry! The graphics are top notch and the fluid noises and atmosphere are very impressive. I did find the game to become somewhat boring/easy after an amount of time, and the single 'dunn' noise to get repetitive. Maybe the noise could play in different pitches randomly, or have 3-5 different similar noises. Overall great job. Would be very cool to see it pursued in further development.

City Blocks by legavroche 2018-04-27T20:23:59Z

Very cool concept and quite a challenge too. I like how you had an excess amount of left hand only words ^_^ The audio was nice but the block breaking noise got a little old fast. I found myself dying after dying because I tried to type then instead of not die again. Great job!

Puttsy by morrilet 2018-04-26T23:08:55Z

Good execution and clever puzzle-age. I really liked the sound effect for the cannon tower. One suggestion would be to leave buildings in place when you retry, instead of having to place all the pieces again.

Snack & Slash by Gumboot 2018-04-26T23:40:13Z

The graphics and art style are delightful. Very interesting game concept. The only negative things I have to is that the audio gets somewhat repetitious, and it can be somewhat hard to navigate at first. Overall great job! Really liked the vegetables.

YOU LEFT ME. by Angela He 2018-04-25T23:12:30Z

This is so good! Fantastic artwork. The music suits the game but it also seems to be the only thing slightly out of place. I really liked the abrupt changes between darkness and comedy in the dialogue.

Racingsaurus Text by Don Fouts 2018-04-26T00:46:18Z

Love the art style and the mixture of genres :) Interesting take on the racing/dating sim. The music gets a little irritating quickly and some different/more text messages would be a welcome addition. Very creative idea and well executed! I liked how challenging it was to text and drive, good reminder for real life.

Survival of the Smartest by AMastryukov 2018-04-24T23:26:12Z

Neat idea here. Would be very interesting with some more sounds and scares. I found myself getting questions wrong to see what all your spooks are ^_^

'Meme'bumps by Chetan pant 2018-04-25T23:44:30Z

Slightly humorous and ridiculous at the same time. The 3d audio design works out nicely. The sound for the scares gets a little ear-grindy though.

Happy Harvest by Ziamor 2018-04-26T23:24:50Z

Very enjoyable but also very easy. The BGM and art style were all very nice. The contrast between light and dark was also a very nice touch. This manages to set a lot of mood, although it gets repetitive quick and the horror quickly dies down after you realize how little of a threat the enemies are. Nice work overall!

Musical CCG by Eingya 2018-04-26T22:54:07Z

The file size is pretty extreme for the game, I'd recommend compressing your audio to some format other than WAV. The card game took some figuring out but right about the time I did I broke the music somehow, had a bug where white noise came in when I hovered a card and it didn't stop. This is a very cool idea though, but it feels a bit tedious and some of the SFX during attacks are too loud. It needs some polish, and definitely a tutorial system (wasn't sure how to remove cards/if you could?). I know it sounds like all my feelings are negative but you did do a nice job and it is very interesting.

Late Night Shopping by Kciwsolb 2018-04-26T23:30:08Z

Very humorous entry. My favorite was the death animation, the slow decline from shopping cart driver to floor person. It all works well but I think the light flickering could get toned down a touch. Would also be cool with collectables on the shelves on either side occasionally, bread on sale or something. Overall, funny stuff, good job.

Haiti Kitty by Beebo Studios 2018-04-26T00:55:04Z

This is an adorable entry. I liked the transitions between the designs, and how unimpressed the stars were when I only got two of them. Nice work.

STEW'M by Bradalli 2018-04-26T22:07:47Z

Really cool idea. I'm an old school Doom fan so was quite engaged from the start. This would be an interesting idea to elaborate on. Old style levels, 3 special stew ingredients from boss-ish things throughout the level to put in a pot. Background music and some more sound fx would do a lot for it too. Stew plopping noises and meat hitting the floor noises maybe? Nice work though!

The Fishing by Corbak 2018-04-27T20:08:33Z

I was pleasantly surprised by this game. I'll admit I did feel fear with each fish the got larger and lager ^_^ Great usage of theme, and I'd also consider it somewhat of a platformer. The graphics all work nicely but they are somewhat out of tune with initial casting screen. Nice work on the audio and gameplay as well.

Devil's Doll by metamorphling 2018-04-27T19:59:33Z

Awesome concept but wow is it hard. I very much appreciate your programmer music and art as well. There is a considerable amount of polish for what you produced as well. Great work, but I'd suggest making it easier. Those first two jumps took me a very long time. ^_^

Corn Wars LD (Farming-Shooter) by Firesplash Entertainment 2018-04-26T22:32:39Z

The concept is well executed but the whole experience feels very tedious, from only holding 24 of one item, the cooldown, and the effort needed to raise coin. It also seems to much like a regular farming sim with gun models instead of rake models. I'd suggest trying to increase the player reward system and making the harvesting run smoother. Could use turret guns to harvest corn efficiently or something. Harpoon gun retrieves crops. To me, it seems to lack any shooter-ness at all, not that it needs to be fast paced and extreme, just needs to feel more like you're using the guns to farm.

Ms Grunhilde's Sandwiches by pparadigm 2018-04-26T23:18:45Z

The intro was all adorable and then Carson just came over for sandwiches for the rest of eternity. I really liked this entry. Nice and simple, no jelly, infinite PB. The shwoop sound effect was phenomenal. I tried to smear peanut butter all over the loaf but it just shwooped. I'd suggest the ability to put more peanut butter on the sandwiches.

Ms Grunhilde's Sandwiches by pparadigm 2018-04-26T23:32:04Z

@pparadigm haha what I had in mind was bulky layers of peanut butter in the sandwhich, but your idea is also most definitely an idea!

SPORTS by Forest 2018-04-26T23:47:59Z

My favorite thing about this game is the name. The music was quite fitting as well, but some of the SFX got old quick. The zamboni coming through was a great touch, especially watching it do the whole court (field?). Would make for great multiplayer fun. Awesome job.

A Kid's Nightmare by N.O.X 2018-04-27T19:41:33Z

Nice work! Good audio atmosphere and awesome voxels. I found it a little unclear how to hit the switch in level 2 (and I had tried jumping off the stool and jumping). The UI often appeared and disappeared very quickly before reading it. I thought the music and sound design was very nice but it could generate a lot more atmosphere with a couple more 3d SFX (robot humming movement along with beeps, windows doors slamming, kid moving noise). Overall great work and good job, but I feel I should say it doesn't quite seem to fit the theme to me.

Modern Fairway 4: Spec-Ops in the Rough by Lost Dutchman Software 2018-04-25T23:36:50Z

Haha this is such a great usage of the theme. I thoroughly enjoy the mission accomplished screen ^_^ The soundtrack fit just right. I had more fun missing the ball barely than actually hitting it. The only thing I'd change would be to remove the stamina meter for sprint. There's golfing to do, no time to stop for breath.

Rainy Night by kumabotz 2018-04-24T23:20:07Z

I wanted to like this but I found myself not having any fun. I like the premise and the design works, it just doesn't engage me much. The 2d rain also messes with my perception from a top down angle.

In the Details by Himbro 2018-04-27T20:35:56Z

Nice concept and character art but the lack of audio really drags it down. The controls and camera are a little quirky, especially when you don't even realize you're doing the controlling from the start. Good job on the theme and the execution, but I didn't find the gameplay particularly rewarding or engrossing, even when succeeding, but I'm not a big fan of management sims.

Helsing by davidsheadgames 2018-04-24T23:13:45Z

The sound design, music, and atmosphere are nice although navigating the dark maze is slightly infuriating. The game maintains a dark aura and suspense the whole time. Good job.

Barry Has a Secret (horror, meal hiding simulation) by jamfella 2018-04-24T23:05:51Z

Nice work on the animations, quirkiness, and the bananas. I put all my stuff in the fridge and just stood in front of it when the cops came.
