That's really cool. It was fun to explore the house. It only got a little annoying when it took a while to get a room that I needed to appear again.

turquoise-moon 2021-10-06 02:45

Is the cat in the picture frame yours?

marc-antoine-girard 2021-10-06 02:49

Nice little game! I'm guessing this is what agnosia feels like. I must say it's very confusing, and I was in full immersion since I didn't read the description beforehand. I really was confused! Nice game and good work :)

enya454 2021-10-06 02:55

Really fun escape room like game. When the rooms became less randomised and I needed the bathroom however I found it a bit monotonous to just go through the same door over and over to get a certain room. Other than that it was actually a really fun game. One glitch however, many of the walls in the living room don't have collision. This didn't affect my score however for it didn't take away from the game.

cloistered 2021-10-06 02:57

I like the idea that your get rooms by collect memories~

kinart 2021-10-06 02:59

This was a fun one! I really liked it. A simple concept done well.

mausimus 2021-10-06 02:59

Great idea of adding randomized rooms, the game would have been really good even without that. I really like the simple controls and graphics, not getting into the way. The puzzles are straightforward enough to move from one to the next. (spoilers ahead) I went into the white and then... nothing happened - is there's anything more? Very good job regardless!

hermitao 2021-10-06 03:00

Really cool game! Don't want to give spoilers in this comment, but loved the idea with the rathole, haha. The almost seamless transition between the rooms was really cool and a bit eerie! I wonder how that was done.

chris-mcknight 2021-10-06 03:02

Really great execution. Puzzles were nice, and the rooms changing is nice. I second Turquoise Moon, maybe put your finger on the scale and have the rooms you need have a high chance to spawn. If you do a small polish pass to make sure the rooms aren't noticeable when they change I think it'll be solid. Good Job !

kleinzach 2021-10-06 03:02

Cool concept, though I eventually just started going in and out of doors until I got the room that I wanted because hoping to get the right room randomly got tiring after a while.

acarine 2021-10-06 03:11

Thanks :) I had fun getting lost, looking at cat pics, and trying to remember the house. Game runs well and looks nice!

brainloaf-studio 2021-10-06 04:09

Really unique gameplay - loved how jumbled and disorienting the experience feels with the constantly shifting rooms. The map system took a bit to discover but once I did, it made it easier to get the rooms I wanted to appear. Very well done!

ryan-winstead 2021-10-06 04:31

Extremely cool entry! I enjoyed being disoriented and figuring out the layout of the house. The puzzles felt good and I enjoyed the quirks (cat pics, teddy bear). I couldn't figure out the ending... I left the house and then nothing happened. However, the screen flipped upside down the controls inverted. Not sure if that was intended, but it seemed really interesting.

tykenn 2021-10-06 04:59

I like escape rooms. The idea of a random maze slowly starting to make sense complements it well.

marbles 2021-10-06 06:58

Had fun with this simple escape game. Took a while of exploring before I discovered the basement room, maybe I just had bad RNG. I like the idea of unstable randomized rooms.

hellequinne 2021-10-06 07:19

Great work! The game felt adequately strange and disorienting. I especially appreciated the ending—at least the way I interpreted it.

I had some control issues—the camera periodically snapped in a different direction, making navigation difficult.

sith 2021-10-06 10:57

Nice work! Like the cat very much. The game is quite nice, a simple idea executed well.

ziamor 2021-10-06 12:05

@turquoise-moon Yep that is my cat, it was a place holder asset that sort of become permanent LOL

@mausimus That is the ending, it was rushed and last minute, wish we had time to make it more interesting and cleat that the game is over.

@chris-mcknight I wanted to make the un-fixed rooms to be weighted more for the random doors but that idea kept getting pushed back for other features and wasn't added in the end

@ryan-winstead Woah the inverted controls were not intended, that is an odd bug LOL

@marbles Unfortunately the RNG screws me over every run, something that needs to be tweaked to be better

2021-10-06 12:48

Cute cat and great game, I'd play a full version of this.

mordrick 2021-10-06 14:52

Nice idea! I love games like "You are not here" ^^.

Nice little game and nice interpretation of the theme. I liked the graphics although there is a problem with the normals facing the wrong direction on the shelf so you can look through the shelf.

All in all a good entry!

Keep it up!

ryan-winstead 2021-10-06 21:58

@ziamor hahah, I definitely spent at least 5 minutes re-exploring the house upside down (walking on the ceiling). Thought it was an artistic take =p hilarious bug. Best of luck in the jam!

ziamor 2021-10-07 02:50

@ryan-winstead I'll be honest, had no idea you could even get on the ceiling haha

johnnysix 2021-10-12 23:11

Very cool! It'd be nice with some ambient sound, and the flipping of the door-handles was unnerving :door:

I think you should probably record a simple no commentary walkthrough so if anybody gets stuck they can watch it. Also the TV room doesn't have collision on walls. You should also probably move all UI text to a better spot as looking from one corner to another can be disorienting plus, I didn't see some important text when I unlocked the TV room.

Overall, this is a cool puzzle game. Good job

llaumegui 2021-10-13 07:25

This is a really good concept with nice puzzles ! I think you can check the colliders of some wall as i could leave rooms multiple times by nocliping through it. Also i had some struggles during my playthrough as the attic and the basement didn't want to appear, i think you can improve your system by making rooms appears through a weighted random. By doing that, the rooms you already discovered would have a bit less chance to appear randomly

Overall i really liked it ! Congratz

javicoder 2021-10-13 08:20

I really liked the puzzles, they are simple but it is fun to go around the house a little lost haha. Good design and good graphics

elias-manzaneda 2021-10-13 10:59

I really like the concept behind this game. Sometimes it is quite noticeable the change when entering a room (the door handles change side) but overall I really enjoyed the experience. Well done!

sockenpuppe 2021-10-13 17:26

Great concept with nice puzzles! Really love how disorienting it feels when you can't predict in what room you'll end up (at first) :)

(Also: Cute cat! <3)

ziamor 2021-10-14 14:44

@dock-frankenstein The thought has crossed my mind, but it's something I keep pushing back.

dock-frankenstein 2021-10-14 17:24

@ziamor from what I understand you are talking about the walkthrough. You don't need to speak (actually I think it would be better without commentary), just play the game so that others can look if they get stuck

2021-10-14 20:34

Good work!

crazyrems 2021-10-16 10:16

very clever and well executed :ok_hand: I’m just sad there is no sound.

lucasvb 2021-10-19 00:07

Pretty cool game. Love the non-euclidean/memory dynamics. Graphically it's a little glitchy, but it's understandable that switching around rooms and light sources would be problematic.

I'm unsure if the concept has been done before like this, but a escape room kind of game based on this mechanics could be very, very cool to play, and mind-bending if done right. Are there plans to pursue this sort of thing in the future?

In any case, great entry for the jam and well executed.

ziamor 2021-10-19 15:03

@lucasvb

Glad you liked it, I am in fact working on a new version right now, one that will allow you to also link the same room to itself!
