Very cool game. It was very hard but I enjoyed playing it.
a good game ,catch rabbit to sacrifice ,run animation seemed great and easy to control

Very cool game I like it. Just one thing I almost always had to push animals to the edge of the map to make then attract by the carrot, or I have to place one end then turn around the animals to make then go on the food.
@nakami: Yeah, we had hard time tuning it so they'd run in a more clever way, sorry for that :) We hope to fix the bugs after the jam, this is the best we could make in the time.
Very nice game, i leked a lot your scene, iluminacion and animation! Congratulations!
Quite a fun game even though it is kinda hard. Took me a while to get the controls in my mind :sweat_smile:
Nice game! Easy to lost track of time playing =)
Great Job!
Hello mister! As always, great humor and mood. Controls were a bit hard at the beginning. I liked jump animations. Great entry - keep going!
Nice gameplay and cool art and sounds.. You could change the friction of those trees to zero..so that we could easily smoothened out of the collision.. Other than that nice concept ... Great Work !!!!
@sashbros Dude, that's exactly it! The friction!!! How could I have missed that? :( Thanks!!!
A 3D game with awesome Modelings which make it really cute. Good Work!
Cute and dark, exactly as I expected.
Good job & keep up the good work!
Very good!
Good concept and interesting mechanics. I absolutely love the animations, the character walking felt really good. Also, great job with the particle system to make smoke and stuff, it looks amazing.
I think some background music was needed. The first time the Bunnycula laugh it scare the hell out of me. I would also suggest don't dropping the player rigth into the game, made a simple Main menu and maybe explain the controls a little bit.
Overall it was a really fun entry. Great job!!!
Great take on the theme!
Consider adding to the game the following: + Even a bad soundtrack is better than no one. + Different types of bait for different animals would be nice. + Enlarge bait radius - I had to almost corner rabbits in order to make bate attractive for the prey.
Any way nice entry, congratulations!
Great entry. The graphics are great and it's darkly charming. The UI could have been a bit more clear in places — it to a bit to figure out what the bars represented and I had to guess at the controls. Other than that, it's hard to come up with useful criticism, aside from the obvious things (like music) that I'm sure you didn't have time to make. If you want to expand the game, I guess you could add some more complex animal AI, possibly some interesting interactions between them. But honestly, for a jam game, this is very close to a perfect version of itself.
Nice looking game, I guess it need a more immersive introduction to the world like a main menu or a cimetic, because the concept just works and dont need to be polished by this side. I found it a bit hard to understand a strategy to catch those rabbits beside the objective so I had to make a lot of long journeys for one rabbit which without music can be annoying for the player.
I think if you add a background music, an introduction and something to do during those rabbit phases where you just run on them (maybe just a dash, I dont know), it's a perfect game for me.
Nice job, a pretty cool game here.
@Codesity, @zgragselus, @maxklimenok, @galan, @carbonara thank you all very much! Thanks for the suggestions -- as you correctly guessed, most of them were on our list but we had to cut in order to publish it at all (I had 2 days and @dexp only 1.5)
Nice game! More jam games should support gamepads like yours. Like the idea, the flashlight and lighting was a nice touch. If it had music it would really help sell the mood.
I just love the art for this entry :) I found the controls a bit awkward to use though. My head kept telling me W would move the character in the facing direction, probably due to the camera angle, which resulted in more than one misstep. Probably would've been more intuitive if I'd used a gamepad. Catching the rabbits was sometimes hard and tedious. As others have mentioned, the flashlight was a great addition and really helped set the mood.
Shame the music had to be sacrificed. Thats the only thing I feel like this game is missing. I enjoyed the hunting down and grabbing of the bunnies. and the use of light and shadow areas was a nice touch .
Things I liked:
-> Animations
-> That weird bubble effect when player grabbed a bunny
-> The animation when player dropped bunny on the sacrifice altar
-> The fact that bunny's run away from you making them not that easy to catch
Things to improve/ suggestions:
-> Some way player can run out of carrots (forces player to grab rabbit before rabbit eats the carrot)
-> Introduce a stealth component where player must avoid some enemy that is trying to kill him while player is trying to grab rabbits.
Overall: Very nice game ... had fun! :P
Funny little game but a bit repetitive. I would have liked to have more options to catch animals. Maybe puzzle elements. The game could also use an arrow that points to the sacrifice point when you have caught an animal. Nice game overall. Cheers!
A bit more on the difficult side of things but generally it was an enjoyable game!
@jonathan-lorenz -- the animal you're holding is looking right at the altar, all frightened :)
@pcmaster Ho nice touch, didn't noticed that!
Simple and fun game, 'Nuff said :carrot:
Hah! The deep evil laugh surprised me. That was really cool, at first I thought I had to lure them closer with carrots but then I realized that I could just grab them once they were distracted. I was taking and placing carrots in a chain and stealing them back and placing them further in the chain. hah. Super fun game.
A simple but genuinely enjoyable game :) Would have liked to hear the music, even if it wasn't finished! The simple art was fine in my opinion because the moody lighting carried it.
This reminds me of a book I read as a child, Bunnicula. ^_^ Fun idea! I'm impressed what you managed in such a short amount of time. With some spooky music this would make a neat Halloween game. I played the HTML version. Controls were pretty smooth I felt, but I didn't manage to actually grab hold of my prey. Maybe I was doing something wrong? I just walked right up to them while they were eating the carrots.
@firebug - it seems to work, it has to be really in front of you and the gamepad button A or keyboard key space should work. The same keys are used to place and take back carrots.
@pcmaster Alright thank you! That did the trick~
Took me a bit to figure out that the same button that places the carrots also picks up the animals (and that bit me later when I sometimes placed carrots intending to pick up animals). But I like this! It could probably use an extra challenge or something to make it less repetitive, but the core gameplay of trying to trick the AI while keeping track of what Bunnicula is asking for works well.
Also you did a surprisingly great job on the art considering all the caveats you listed. The lighting in particular works well for the theme, and honestly the blocky models, while simple, actually have a bit of charm in how consistent they are.
I was a little confused initially but I picked it up quickly enough and didn't find it particularly hard. It was a funny idea and I liked the mood of the whole thing, I agree with other comments about the blocky models - totally fine and quite charming. There isn't too much in the way of mechanics but in the time constraints that is understandable. Nicely done!
It took me a while to get it but once I did I was quite happy tracking down those bunnies! I felt the movemtent was a bit clunky at times and would benefit from more work. It looked great and the sounds worked well. A bit of music would defo lift the mood. Good entry.
@evan-minto, @adamd, @arron-fowler THANK YOU GUYS! :)
When I learned I could lure bunnies to their doom by crapping carrots, the game got so much more strategic. Fun!
Needs a better explanation of the controls. It was easy to figure out how to put down carrots but not how to capture.
nice job! only thing I missed was some kind of indicator where the altar is after wandering off too far, or landmarks that gave me a sense of direction.
Good job and great funny mood, I was a bit lost at first but once I understood controls, I throwed carrots and grabbed the bunnies easily. I loved the cool particle and simple "programer's art", this is simple yet good looking and feeling alive. The light effects were cool too, it felt like it was part of the gameplay but could maybe have been more. Reading your (hilarious) game's description, with all these sacrifices we have to do, that is very understandable :) that fits to the theme and gamejam cult spirit XD I empathize for the wife, may she know she is not the only one... Cheers!
@knarf THX, BRO! :)
