interesting concept but I can't get the commands to work. Build just tells me the price and spark doesn't do anything.

@Ripter 'build tower @ c4' for example. This builds a tower at the c row and 4 column. Commands also have aliases. You can type 'b tower @ c4'. Spark is a minion that you can spawn to help you. To spawn spark just type: 'spawn spark' or 's spark'

Great work, love the style.

Comment: - I played the git link as itch.io wasn't working.

Good: - Visuals Style and sound were well done. - Animations were clear and communicated what was happening effectively. - No issues or bugs. - Basic instruction was clear enough for me to start playing right away.

Bad: - Not much replay-ability beyond the initial learning phase. If the game got more difficult it showed no signs of it past the first 10 minutes, if it does you should change the ramp time. - The enemies don't seem to path around the towers, this means there is no benefit to building towers to path them through the most damaging route, instead filling the board is maximum effectiveness. - that lack of pathing means filling the board is most effective win strategy, this doesn't reward planning or resource management. - The available gold is probably too high, as of wave 14 (10m:25s) I had completely filled the grid with towers and could spawn 2 sparks at a time. I had 2940gold spare to rebuild anything destroyed. Enemies never mad it past column 11.

What would I change/consider: - Add enemy pathing, this encourages better tower layouts and rewards player planning. - Add enemy more types that will skip or jump over the tower lines, this ensures player needs to defend the home effectively while balancing that with expanding to meet new enemy volumes. - Ramp difficulty higher, or reduce gold rewards. - Give sparks a role, clear one, perhaps add an alternate use for energy, such as a damage/attack speed booster or something along those lines.

Typing build command is not very practical. But having history of typings really help. The art is great and the sound appropriate. Nice entry.

@timwalsh Lucas here. The responsible for the pathing mistake. There is pathing, I had to implement A* from scratch... The problem is that I forgot to add the path blockers and colliders HAHA :) so the pathing code is useless.

@bombjack Thanks for the feedback! I think it is meant to be somewhat hard to type. We will change tower names as more towers are implemented (we are going to keep developing this game), so typing won't be as bad. Also, I'm planning to add auto completion on tab. Still, for the jam, this is what we managed haha. Thanks!! I'm playing your game now. :)

Very interesting but if I still playing maybe im gonna break my wrist XD The art pretty good! PD: Maybe the difficulty is not hard because I can spawn towers every second, but respawning the enemies in differents sides should be great or maybe balancing the economy. PD2: GREAT JOB!

@Bomb-X Hey man! Sorry if things are not very clear at the beginning. If you type "start", the game begins (you cannot build anything before the game starts). After that, you can type "build tower @ c4" to build a turret at the position c4 on the grid. This will cost you gold. You can also type "spawn spark" to spawn a minion that attacks the enemies (that will cost you energy). Enemies attack in waves, and you must keep building towers to defend your base. If your base gets destroyed and the "game over" screen appears, you can type "restart" to try again. Hope you have fun!

Very nice concept and very nice execution, but it felt unbalanced or easy. Besides that, I loved the game, it would be nice if you add tower upgrades or cells where you can't build towers.

Thank you for this special tutorial ! :) I really love this typing/strategic defense system, you have to continue developing this and i will purchase it day one with all season pass ;D More seriously, i earn to much golds and it's easy to spam turrets with the "up" button save system ( that's really cool though ). Maybe only have golds or just energy rather than two resources? Last things, maybe gorilla could come from all positions rather than only from right side. Overall, well done guys, i really enjoy it ! Love the art style too

Great concept but the game didn't ramp up enough. You couldn't do much once you'd built enough towers. Also, you have to start the game before you can use the commands which makes sense, but the current error says "unknown command". It *is* an known command, you just can't use it yet.

That said, this is all minor stuff, this is definitely one of the more polished entries I've played.

I have no idea what's going on, really, or how to get gold, but I love the art style, and reading the comments, I'm pretty sure the issue is my unfamiliarity with the genre. I'm gonna try it again right away. The storyline's hilarious. :)

Interesting concept! Although, by wave 10, I had the entire grid filled with towers, making the subsequent waves an exercise in running the clock.

I like the Mashup. Its actually a really good mix of genres.

The only real problem I had was that it was way to easy. Once you spawn your fist spark, he gets you basically enough gold withing the first minute to build towers that cover the whole map. After that you never really run into any trouble. I got to wave 11 and the enemies still seem like they were just as easy as the were at the beginning.

Other than that I have to say I absolutely love the mood/graphics. easily a solid 5 for me. You hit me right in the nostalgia <3 Its also very polished which is a huge plus for me. It also seems like this mashup of genres has huge potential to build a really cool command based tower defense game. Good job on the entry, I hope it goes far in the ratings [:

It took me a while to figure out the commands but once i got it it was pretty fun. Was a bit to easy at a certain point but the cocnept/art is great

The game had a nice atmosphere and the art is very well done. The gameplay was kind of awkward with the typing commands but you did a good job with the theme of blending genres, I imagine it would be fun to watch someone playing this and typing like they were in a hacker movie lol.

Hey @ja-viera thanks! It's a bit akward indeed. Typing games are a more niche genre but still, we did our best to make the command typing experience easier. I intended to add auto completion on tab, but it would require a context aware suggestion generator that would take too long. Instead, we added a command history that you can access by using the arrow keys (up and down). We are still developing the game though. We intend to make it a full game, with upgrades, more commands and more enemies. Nothing too big though. We are implementing every feature everyone asked here.

Super brilliant idea! It feels so good to control everything by typing, making me feel like a hacker or something :rofl: The mechanics is solid. I do appreciate the pause function, which makes a great balance between typo and realtime tower defense. And I'm now a super fan to the graphics of your work. Keep going!

I really like the vibe of the game. The visuals are solid and typing, apparently, a great way to do tower defense games :D Naturally, as with most of the games I've played from LDJam 41, it could use some more variety, but considering the time constraints and all that, you guys have done very well :)

Cool gmae. Don't know why but I was unable to play on gamejolt but it worked really well on your website, blending of the 2 genre works super well and I had a great time playing it. The pixel art is eye-candy and I liked the atmosphere
