LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Alida of Arx by jsmars 2018-04-24T14:14:40Z

I am so impressed that you made this over a weekend! This is the only game I've played so far that I got all the way through, so kudos on the level of polish. Alida's voice acting and the art were the strongest points for me. I'm a huge softie for point and click adventures (since I was kid playing the King's Quest series), especially in fun themes like this. I would definitely play the full game if you decided to expand this, very charming :)

FetchQuest Rally by nuclearfriend 2018-04-24T16:53:53Z

Awesome! I played until I lost. I'm amazed this got made over a weekend, so impressed with the polish/quality.

CardDunTris by jcwelgemoed 2018-04-24T18:12:46Z

Very creative! I love that this was a family effort, what an awesome idea and collaboration :)

A Tale of Comedy and Tragedy by jelch 2018-04-24T15:57:54Z

Played the whole thing! It gave me a sort of Undertale vibe with the characters, which really made the game for me. I'm normally a little leery of puzzle of platformers but I really enjoyed this. Nice job!

Eggplant Kindergarten by LiquidBrain 2018-04-24T18:01:20Z

I loved this, I dunno, I just ate up the fun theme/style. I played the whole game and didn't find any bugs. Really good job on everything, it really came together!

The hole at the end of the universe by Greet 2018-04-24T17:32:34Z

I hate golf, and I loved this, the whole mood of the game just sucked me in. And it's got the whole easy/intuitive to learn/play but difficult to master angle. Truly great job. You deserve many more ratings.

The Mad Tea Party - A Card and Run Game by Tiberius 2018-04-24T17:22:59Z

I could totally see this is a programming board game! Agree with earlier comment that it was a little slow to start out. Overall good concept and nicely executed - I didn't encounter any bugs while I was playing.

Shattered Melodies by yancharkin 2018-04-24T16:07:33Z

Haha, I sucked at playing this so I didn't get far at all but the idea is really cool!

Fashion Fight by dexfrost89 2018-04-24T15:12:33Z

The text was extremely small for me in everything but the tutorial (some sort of resolution bug), which made it difficult for me to play very long, and I was also a little confused by the combat...However, the pixel art was fantastic. Respect for everything you achieved here in a tight time frame.

Nightmare Clicker by Merotar 2018-04-24T14:37:47Z

Really well done (in 48 hours?!, wow)! Looks like you already know about the bugs I encountered, so the only feedback I have would be less reliance on manual clicking as that gets tiring. Would love to see this expanded out into multiple character choices, etc. Did you make the music too? Can't get it out of my head.

Victrola (co-creator) here. Just popping in to say the feedback is really appreciated. We ran out of time on fixing bugs and fiddling with the controls, but we love the core concept and intend to retool it into a full fledged game. So we will definitely pay attention to any of the comments. Thanks again!

Really sorry about the difficulty with the controls (and nobody's mentioned it yet, but we know the moving platforms are bugged too - we just ran out of time), I know it doesn't feel as good as a platformer needs to. The beautiful artwork is all credit to @skkramer, the shoddy controls and bugs are all fault to me (I'm our developer). Hope you like the potential of the basic concept. Thanks for playing!

@yancharkin @eudes-franco *sheepish grin* we did not have time to put in our win condition as I spent my last available working hours trying to make it more playable. I should have thrown in a quick hail mary win with a get x number of coins or something, but by the end we started viewing the game as a basic proof of concept for a much more intricate game rather than on making this a complete experience in and of itself. SK did our description up above and we forgot to take out the mention of a win criteria. I have edited this. Thank you so much for playing and commenting!

Rock The Road by Bintex 2018-04-24T16:46:25Z

I wasn't really sure what I supposed to be doing so I just drove around, but I didn't encounter any bugs. This game is definitely more polished than my first game jam game (this was only my second, and I still wasn't able to get everything polished in the time frame). Good job!
