I don't know if it was a screen size thing or not but all of the text was gone on my screen. Outside of not knowing what the buttons did this is a really good and atmospheric game.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD41 → Nightmare Clicker

Some issues with the upgrade text being cut off, but the graphics, atmosphere and music are really cool.
This was really fun and satisfying! I would've played it longer but I need to not destroy my hands! One problem(?) I noticed was that all the monsters dropped negative amounts of gold.
Somehow managed to get over -100 gold and couldn't buy powerups. Interesting game nonetheless.
I don't know if it's a bug or something i don't get but this happens: https://gyazo.com/6f6356704634de9e40f5ab2760e8d670 (Getting negative money from the enemies)
Mood is really cool! The combination between tower defense and clicker is a good one, as clicker adds a little bit of action to the tower defense part.
As others noted, I had myself -357 gold, which made it tough to buy stuff. But, I got a kick out of the rest of the game. It's easy to see that you gave the game a lot of attention to detail. With the 3 unique people each with their own abilities and XP/level up there's a lot to do which added to my enjoyment. But, dang, my finger got tired quickly having to smash that mouse button so often. Well done!
Thanks so far for the feedback! Today I noticed the negative gold bug myself, but I think I should not fix this after the deadline. Also I think the game balance can be a bit odd after some timed played.
Great game! This is the one I played the longest of all those I've played this jam. Nice upgrade system, easy to get used to and nice mix of character traits. Well done!
Really well done (in 48 hours?!, wow)! Looks like you already know about the bugs I encountered, so the only feedback I have would be less reliance on manual clicking as that gets tiring. Would love to see this expanded out into multiple character choices, etc. Did you make the music too? Can't get it out of my head.
@Victrola-Sage Thanks for the feedback and the suggestions! For the first time during a jam I had about enough sleep and I can really recommend that! It makes you so much more productive the next day. I made the music myself. I was not really satisfied since it's very very simple, but I am glad you liked it. I totally understand that the clicking can be very stressful, but actually there is a state of the game (if you level up the characters properly) where the game if too relaxing (poor balancing). ;)
Some more comments on the bugs:
- If the button text is not displayed, try to refresh the page and reload the game - The gold bug can be avoided if the enemies don't get too far to the cabin (I know it sounds crazy)
nice work, kinda has a tim burton feel to it. although i must admit i'm just not a fan of clicker games, this one made me feel like i was just clicking on everything when it lit up without much regard to strategy. i like the art style, and the music though :) so thumbs up for that :)
my poor mouse! nice job, it had a good atmosphere to it though it tool a while realize I could click on the damage increase buttons etc as well. Could have done with some visual feedback to show when they were ready to use, like the grey/black outline of the card buttons.
Damnn!! very addictive! good job! simple but with a lot personality :D Just one thing, when the 3 characters are +28 of level is pretty easy (no need to click because the monsters die automatically with the damage of the characters), but I was playing for a while! Keep working on it!
Cool game, maybe a bit too easy but I like the atmosphere and the graphics a lot. Good job !
Overall pretty interesting, I liked your artwork and the art direction that you took and I loved the different monsters that appeared on top of the playables characters. I didn't feel much of a progression but maybe you guys couldn't implement that on time since it's a typical thing for a clicker. I failed to see where you merged different genres though.
@ja-viera Thanks for the comment! About the progress I agree. I was working on this game alone and in the end I did targeted for about 5-10 minutes of gameplay since time was running out. The genre should be a mixture between horror, tower defense and clicker game, but in the end the horror aspect was a bit short.
the end is never the end is never the end is never the end is never the end is never?
Had a big problem with the text it was just a pixel for each character or something it looked very strange just had red pixels floating off all the enemies and couldn't see what was going on. But the game idea is interesting and i can see it being really fun with some a bit of work.
