LD38 — A Small World

Goodbye, world! by chromableedstudios 2017-08-02T22:05:56Z

I sat around confused a little bit trying to figure out the goal. Turns out this is a multiplayer game! Pretty good idea having unusual gravity for aiming. Normally these games don't have moving terrain like that moon, so it makes for a unique challenge in aiming.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Escape the Morgue by Jacksendary 2017-08-02T21:57:29Z

I finished the game and liked the unexpected twist at the end.

80MB that's a lot texture! The visual quality was certainly there. Good work on the ambiance. I was worried there would be a jump scare at any moment.

The movement was pretty stiff: I got the impression the player is taking 'steps' rather than just moving by a simple velocity, so it led to having to adjust around in order to get where I wanted to go.

Powercore by Lord_404 2017-08-04T19:12:13Z

I got stuck on something like level 4. It was an impossible jump. I'm thinking I was supposed to pick up a thing in the previous room, but I can't get back to it.

While True Do by Phobos001 2017-08-02T04:05:46Z

Oh yeah baby! Ok, you really got a laugh out of me.

The obsession of a developer doesn't always lead to greatness. In this case... man it sure did.

Solar Miner by mrboxbox 2017-08-04T22:59:08Z

This was a really strong entry. Great easing into the game by starting it slow and leading into upgrades that always have value. Well done!

Runner Out Of Power by Mathiouza 2017-08-02T19:47:27Z

I am throwing my hands up and resigning. It's like the BattleToads level 'Clinger Winger', but after 20 tries I can't get past the first 10 seconds of level 2. The reaction time is far too precise for anyone to accomplish on a first play through, or even the 20th. Maybe having a little leeway on making turns would help (instead of a total game restart, just slow down and run out of time eventually).

The flow from menu to game is really well executed. I went straight to the Don't Play option and was not dissapointed!

Kings by nitzanel 2017-08-04T22:23:41Z

This is really something that you could expand further into a much more complete game. I love the whole concept of! I had to stop playing because my hand was filled with Kill cards that wouldn't let me end the turn. I ended having my cities income levels roll over to the negatives every other turn, so that was an interesting surprise.

Mine Mouser by Knatt 2017-08-04T18:51:17Z

Played probably half of the levels, which was a considerable amount of time. Nice work having a fair challenge.

UFO Abduction by dreadloaf 2017-08-02T15:55:14Z

It's like a never ending claw game. Pretty good for what it is. I can see a lot of potential in extra content later on.

Plugging Away by AfroAnt 2017-08-02T04:59:45Z

It took 3 tries, but I got to the end! The radar really helps to know when you need to focus on max weapon, or just leave it at 50%. It's pretty tough, but still a lot of fun figuring out how it all works.

Clone Colony by tmpxyz 2017-08-04T16:34:46Z

Like others have said, a tool tip is nice, but a tutorial for this level of complexity is a necessity. I didn't know what the purpose of anything was and didn't understand why things were happening. My units were dying on their own due to lack of resources I guess?

There is a lot of potential in here. Maybe add a document to your game's post so we can try again?

Terminal Attraction by Aumbra 2017-08-02T20:57:34Z

This was a curve ball that really shows true innovation. Well played!

Breath by sundr0 2017-08-02T16:24:41Z

It defaults to Ultra settings and I had under 5fps. There wasn't any way to close the game either, so I had to Alt+F4. Only the low graphic settings was manageable.

Olafshot by SirOlaf 2017-08-02T21:02:55Z

Making something in C++ in a limited time is not easy. Nice work getting this one out.

Mad Trax by boats 2017-08-02T15:04:02Z

The design is really well done. Looks like you have a strong team set up!

The novelty it cool, but I feel like there isn't much to the gameplay: it's either a trivial autopilot or rush to the end.

The Last Light by Loktor 2017-08-02T19:25:21Z

It's Flak Attack! Nice rendition of it. The lighting effects were pretty cool. That's something I want to learn eventually.

Light-Eater by prettylucky 2017-08-02T03:52:48Z

Really cool idea! It a nice relaxing game. I tried going really fast and taking out all of the lights, but the auto timed scroll let me slow down and enjoy the artwork. It's a cool art style really.

I got the crash like many others, but trying again and only clicking (not dragging) got me through the intro screen. It was smooth after that.

N.R.G. - Nice Robot Game by StefanRial 2017-08-03T22:54:47Z

There was a lot of content in this submission. What's really nice is that the levels were randomly chosen so I could see them all even if I lost a lot of the time. The jump mechanic was a little too difficult for me to handle so I ended up not getting the movement that I wanted. But either way, I think I ran through all the levels at least one time. Definitely enjoyed it!

Professional Protesters by MartinTristan 2017-08-02T04:25:15Z

My mouse has a 300 million click lifespan. I needed to buy two more after playing.

Clickers were never my thing, but the theme is a pretty cool twist to an 'upgrade' game. Looks like I'm building up protesters to make an army of communists!

QTechnologic Quest by BottledMajesticness 2017-08-02T19:19:02Z

Shame that only the intro level could get running. You can always try to upload a fix for it that's in line with the rules.

Greenhouse Dystopia by DeadlyAlive 2017-08-02T20:13:20Z

It took about 10 tries for me to realize you basically want to avoid all enemies, rather than attack any single one. Beat it once I learned the kites give energy back. Totally missed that feature! I felt that the randomness of the enemy spawns acted as artificial difficulty: some arrangements were trivial to get past while others were completely impossible.

Overall, the art style, music, and theme really played together. I could see this being a classic SNES game back in the day.

Low battery by David Brož 2017-08-04T18:33:26Z

I was able to get to the end by rotating my mouse in a circle around the sockets. It kept them charging at a pretty steady rate so the shields only broke towards the very end. I'm sure that's not the intended way to play, but having alternate strategies is always cool.

The Color of Days To Come. by TheOneThatNeverWas 2017-08-02T15:29:13Z

I get that this is more of an interactable art piece than a 'game', but it was a little too abstract to figure out how to proceed. I got to the earth in space section and it kind of just sat there. I don't think that was the end, but I'm not sure what to do next.

Shipyard power struggle by Norticks 2017-08-03T22:40:00Z

I don't think anyone else made a game like this for the competition. Nice work on getting something unique.

It's an interesting change on tower defense when you can move your towers and they can also die. I ended up kiting all the bad guys instead of walling out so it took a bit of awareness to make it through.

The pace was a little slow like others have said, but it feels like the game was designed with that in mind. I had a bit of difficulty scrolling the map: having a full screen option would solve it.
