I really enjoyed this game. Music and sound effects are good. Would be cool if it was fullscreen when you start the game. Very promising.

nice game I really enjoy playing it
Better than Minecraft. I love how energy was implemented.
What a great game! Such a clever combination of mechanics. The physics on the ship is *perfect* and I love how the ore is physics driven as well, brilliant loop of blasting through ore then having to chase it down. The audio and art are really nice and support each other and the gameplay really well. Excellent entry!
Very nice idea. I liked that there is an upgrade system. I also liked the minimalistic graphics. Good job!

oh i love it. The music is great and it's very addictive but it seems that there is a bug. You can get stuck in a rock and you instantly lose all you energy, so you lose all that money and it's a bit frustrating. But overall it's great!
One of my favorites so far! I love the minimalistic art style! The player control could be a bit more responsive, but that's all.
Good job!
The bug where you get stuck in the wall is annoying, but I enjoyed the game! It was fun trying to get all the unlocks
I liked play this game, the musics and sound effects are great, the principle is simple but it works. Mining with gravity is a bit challenging but funny ! I had fun to play it !
Text was kinda hard to read, sometimes the ship or pieces of ore get stuck inside rocks and you left the default GMS icon. The controls are very easy to understand but hard to master and that made me want to keep playing. I'm also a sucker for skill upgrades, would play this for a long time if it had more skills and equipment to unlock. It's so fun.
An interesting mix between Asteroids and Motherload! The music and game-play works together to create a pretty relaxing experience. Just an overall solid entry. Kudos!
The only thing missing would be procedural generation of the world, to really tie the dig style game-play together; it's not the easiest thing to do in 72 hours, although, it's a good place to start if you wish to expand the game.
A heads up, it seems the bug-fix version includes a serious bug! You start with the most powerful weapon when you spawn, making all the weapon upgrades useless.
@zee Hey thanks! Yeah procedurally generated terrain would have been a bit too much in 72 hours. Though that's definetly something I'm going to look into if i ever develop a sequel :D Yes the player starting with the rocket launcher is a bug thanks for the heads up.
Nice game. Interesting idea and graphics style. I had some troubles with controls in the beginning, but overall is cool) Good luck.
This game is a lot of fun and I played it for quite awhile. Will go back to it after getting some more ratings in. Loved the music although around the 15th time through was wishing for another song. Enjoyed the level and seeing some baddies show up. Great job.
@johnwfs Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was a bit worried that the music would get pretty repetetive, especially since it doesn't loop all that well. I was thinking of making the song quite a bit longer and releasing it in an update. I'm probably going to do that in the next few days. Also do you even get any notification when someone tags you in a comment like this?
My only complaint is that there isn't more of it.
@mrboxbox unfortunately no notifications :(
Such an amazing entry! The quirky controls are fun. The level is well designed and pairs well with the destroying block mechanic. Making my own path through the asteroid was great, allowing the player to take a less efficient route was a good choice. I love the graphics. The music reinforces the mood perfectly. Nothing but praise for this! Keep it up!
I loved the energy system, and how the ship never quite stops moving. I did run out of things to buy towards the end, which made death kinda meaningless, but other than that this was fantastic! Thank you for making it!
Really fun game. Cute pixel graphics and nice soundtrack. Like the concept, only problem i had was that it was to easy. Also nailed the theme.
This was a really strong entry. Great easing into the game by starting it slow and leading into upgrades that always have value. Well done!
Great game entry. The pixel graphics looked good but at lower speeds they could get a bit disorientating because it could feel as though the screen were flashing or changing significantly as you moved slowly. The music was great and didn't feel too repetitive.
At first I found the movement a bit odd but I became accustomed to it towards the end. I will say that perhaps the camera should have been zoomed out a bit more, because often enemies would shoot while I couldn't see them, and the rocket launcher was difficult to fire and aim without taking damage yourself because the explosion took up so much of the screen, but maybe that was part of it's challenge.
Maybe I'm just nitpicking, but the bounce off the rocks did feel a little too much. It made collisions seem less important than they were because they didn't 'crunch'.
Overall though, it was a very fun game.
Really fun, one of the best (if not the best) games I have seen in the Ludum Dare. I had a very good time playing this game. Although, I have two annoyings bugs to tell: First is simple to fix, when you are out of the playable area (up for me, I knox it doesn't work on the left), you can't see your ship and you can only go to one direction, I was behind the stone and couldn't move, I had to restart the game and so on, my save. Secondly, the window keep moving when you try to go somewhere, you keep clicking out of the screen, so I think that the game should be fullscreen. Great job! You did something awesome!
This game was interesting and i like how the movement adds difficulty to the Game. But it lacks a goal once you've got all the items. Making the the Power health and energy source is a good idea. Also if you fire a rocket on a block diagonal it only destroys one tile and you can make yourself an endless tunnel from the save spot. This game is good nevertheless.
Nice graphics and the mechanics are great, got a bit confused on how the movement works but everything else was great, congratulations!
Best game I ever played so far ;-) Love all of it : graphism, audio, gameplay... Keep moving forward.
Nice job! This game had a really good and cohesive design. It is quite easy to pick up and play. The controls were weird for me at first, but after playing for a bit I got used to them. The different weapons and power ups were a nice touch.
I think it may get easy for a player to get lost once they start going in deeper. You may want to add rest points so the player doesn't have to travel back to the start every time they need to refill their power. Great entry!
The graphics for this game are nice. The controls are good as well, though I felt they were a bit too slippery. The game was really fun, and the ability to unlock the new weapons, battery upgrade, and gold magnet is what really kept me going until the end.
Overall, a nice game that is easy to pick up and will keep engagement until the end. Great job!
Blew up the entire map and then found the treasure!
Good game! Graphics and music are nice. I would've liked if there was more incentive to explore the inside of the asteroid, but that's something to work on the future.
Awesome!! I retired early!
This game was a great mashup of a bunch of nice-feeling things from all kinds of genres: a bit of space shooter, a bit of mining, a bit of idle-game style upgrades. The retro feel of graphics and sound was also great, and the simple control scheme was perfect. I appreciated two small touches in the controls especially: first that there is a drag on the player so you do not have to do the old asteroid "turn 180 and counter-thrust" to slow down, instead you can just boost a little and let your speed decay. Second I appreciated the aiming line very much.
I don't know about the intended strategy, but I bored a straight path from the start so I could get up to a high speed from the free-energy zone and launch into the asteroid. I could then get pretty deep by coasting, and I knew I could stay until quite low on energy because I had a straight path back.
The enemies were not a dominating feature, but I think that was a good choice. They were an interesting sub-element to vary things up a little, and their difficulty and punishment felt about right. They were harder to handle later in the game once I had the rocket launcher, which was an interesting inversion of the usual.
There's not even much to suggest here in terms of improvement. One thing I would not have minded was some way of knowing my Y coordinate, because I had bored this path through the rock and wanted to return to it, and once I got the rocket launcher I had blown all the landmarks to smithereens. It was not a big problem at all, but maybe a gradient shading on the background even would have given me some general idea of how far up/down I was.
The only other thing I wished for was that I could press 123 to switch between weapons, because the rockets made the enemy fights tougher (self-damage ouch!). But actually I think it's good the way you have it, because it created a few memorable moments where I limped back out of the asteroid into the sun with like 3.5 energy left, even though I was fully upgraded.
Fantastic entry, well done.
Smooth movement. Some other type of ores would be nice, just for feeling surprise. Simple but very well executed.
Very exciting game! Ship equipment and the mystery of the centre of the asteroid strongly keep in the game. And I was struck by the ship speed when accelerating at a great distance though I had some problems with navigation. Thanks for your game!
I liked this game a lot ! I think that you were supposed to come back each time to buy upgrades but I only did that to buy the lazer. To get to the end, I just progressively killed enemies and destroyed rocks throughout loads of deaths. The mood of the game really reminded me of Spelunky Classic.
Good job !
Very solid entry! The graphics were quite simple, but they had that NES charm to them and worked well. The music was much the same, although I will say the audio mixing could be improved as I found the music was too loud and overpowered the other sounds. The gameplay was fun and seemed pretty polished. It could stand to be a little more forgiving on how much ore you lose upon death, though, but that's of course just my opinion. Overall, very solid presentation and polished gameplay. Good work!
Your game is awesome, unfortunately I read too quickly the description and didn't try to find the treasure after buying everything, I guess I'll have to try again haha. I'm working on a upcoming video about the jam section and your game will be in it :). I want you to know that I had to desactivate Avast antivirus to play it, I informed them of the false positive with this link : https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php , most of the time the problem is quickly solved.
@Satanos Thanks! Yeah false positives are pretty common with games downloaded from the internet. Especially if they come straight in exe files. I want to see the video when it comes out. Could you please post it here or maybe just give a link to your channel :)
Sure I will, although you have to be patient, I'm still working on the compo section vid but it will be done before the LD39 results :).
That was a really neat game. Other than the fact that fullscreen was all black on my PC when I first started it up, it played really well and I enjoyed it.
Thanks!
Wow! This is awesome! I loved the graphics, the audio, and the theme was fitted as well. Oh and the endgame effect is really cool :D
The most complete experience I had with a jam game!! I truly, wholly love this game. The progression, the tricky but rewarding movement, the relaxing music, the rocket launcher, the epic battles that take form using it, the ancient treasure dance! I really, really enjoyed it! I'll treasure it in my collection forever. 5/5 in everything!
I'm right now working on the video about LD39 Jam, it will be released on Monday, just before the result, you game is my favourite of this section ! You can already check the video I made on compo section, it has been released yesterday : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hbr3Mr1TRcQ (I wish you can understand something, it's in french). I was wondering if you can send me a link of the music of solar miner, I love it and can't find it in the game files, I'd like to listen to it while working on video edit ;).
@Satanos Thank you! Nice video. I uploaded the ingame music into soundcloud. If you want to download it click the "more" button and the download button should be in the drop-down list :)

Thank you a lot ! This music reminds me a lot (as I'll say in the upcoming video) of the Dune game on MS DOS and I loved it.
@mrboxbox Hi again ! Thank you again for this amazing game :), the review video is finally up : https://youtu.be/gbRli1YdcXk?t=922 Ask me if you need a translation of the review ;)
Nice game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcB7mPgMq7c
