Its an ok game for ludum dare I think.

cydouzo 2017-05-20 09:12

Your game is sooo silly, I like it XD. But it would have deserved some dialog to feel less empty. Complete silence isn't suitable for having fun

bladesides 2017-05-20 09:13

Funny hearing "Goodbye world" instead of Hello World haha. Nice job buddy.

vikinggames 2017-05-20 15:38

I love both Scorched Earth and Worms, and putting the game on a small planet with an orbit is a really interesting take on their ideas. It would've been better with more weapons or items, but it's good for what it is.

barret907k 2017-07-31 06:22

Pretty meh. Interesting idea but no way to choose number of players. Really hard to hit someone on the other side of the world.

stormforce02 2017-07-31 12:03

I'm just going to say what others have said pretty much. It's a fun game, but it'd be really cool if we could pick the number of players. I tried to play with another friend, but there's 5 "tanks", so it's a bit hard to distribute that. We were able to destroy the moon though, and carve a hole through the earth, so that was fun!

krishnasism 2017-07-31 15:24

Fun Fun Fun! Needed 2 minutes to figure out the game. But then played for quite a few minutes. :D Couldn't hear any sound though. Glitch on my part?

hhsaez 2017-07-31 16:48

It's a fun game and it has a lot of potential, but it took me some time to understand that you're supposed to play with friends. Good work!

shadowyxp-games 2017-07-31 21:07

I am determined to shoot a missle into orbit now!

lcmw-spud 2017-07-31 22:17

Fun game, certainly enjoyed watching other's faces as I destroyed their cannons, I don't see how it ties in with the theme though.

kleinzach 2017-08-01 00:27

Don't know how it fits into the theme, but its cool for what it is. I think it is a little too easy to hit your neighbors, so I can imagine someone losing without the ability to fire a shot which is no good. Orbital dynamics mixed with worms is certainly a good premise. Obviously more sounds and effects go a long way.

oxrock 2017-08-01 03:55

Well, silly physics games tend to be innately fun, so it has that going for it. I don't see the way it ties into the theme but blowing chunks in planets is fun, I won't complain. Wait, this is an old entry, why is it showing up in our feed?

mik3 2017-08-01 08:44

A nice small game with a simple mechanic. It reminded me of scorch. It was fun to play.

baconinvader 2017-08-01 10:22

Fun game and I love the gravity system! Great to play with others but I wish there was some kind of basic cpu-controlled cannon

gimitius 2017-08-01 10:27

Interesting idea. "Hello World" -> "Goodbye World". At first minutes i was like "What do i need to do here?". Few minutes more of playing i got the idea, i think, but overall it did leave me kind of blank. Since there is no music or sound effects or any reason me to keep on playing, atleast i couldn't see it. Maybe adding a counter so the player could see how small the planet is? With few adjustments this could be a fun game.

zirrrus 2017-08-01 14:53

At first I wasn't sure what to do, so I obliterated the moon. I enjoyed carving chunks out of the planet, trying to get the trajectory just right is really neat.

krathya 2017-08-01 15:23

ITs so much fun the gravity mechanic but i dont understand what is the objective of the game.

rongo-matane 2017-08-01 18:56

I thought i had to shoot the moon without destroying the planet. The gravity mechanic feels quite good! Only sometimes the rocket was travelling for 10s before coming back - it would be more interesting if i had something to do in that time. It has potential, base mechanic is quite fun.

2017-08-01 20:43

Nice game, its remind me QBASIC Gorillas. Only one issue, the fullscreen doesn't work properly.

the-iron 2017-08-01 20:59

Not super thematic, but really fun! I bet it would be great with more players--I played alone!--but nonetheless pretty cool. Simple, but enjoyable.

bartol44 2017-08-01 21:24

Pretty funny game, I most enjoyed pulling of shots that hit enemy on the other side. Fixed number of players isn't really something worth complaining. The problem that should be adressed is some players may never be able to shoot, and players on the edge tend to have an advantage.

damoy 2017-08-01 22:42

Quite a fun game, strong gravity too, well done !

stefvanschie 2017-08-02 08:42

Why is this game still showing on the front page, despite it being made for Ludum Dare 38 (as the front page and the url say anyway)?

pouleyketchoupp 2017-08-02 10:18

Interesting idea! Could make a great local multiplayer game, possibly with game pads ;)

Just one thing to complain about: I was playing on windows using the mouse to aim and the controls were a bit awkward, it took me a while to figure them out. I would expect the direction to be based on the canon I'm firing from rather than the center of the planet to make it more consistent.

About the number of players: I think it's fine for a first prototype but I agree it would be a nice option to add for a future update.

mordokay 2017-08-02 14:53

It was fun trying to shoot other players ... This could be a really fun local multiplayer. As it is this game is more like a concept then a game. Still .... what is playable is well made and I would like to see where it goes from here.

alari 2017-08-02 17:30

Based on other's comments, it looks like I didn't get that far in the game. Still a pretty enjoyable game, for what it is. I liked the gravity simulation, it caught me off guard a few too many times.

moski 2017-08-02 20:05

Hello there. I've always been a sucker for mortar-style siege games like these. Y'know, like Worms. I was pleasantly surprised when I started playing it, and saw that it not only had the shooting with angle and velocity, but also some degree of gravitational power as well.

It was a very thrilling experience for a couple of shots, but yeah, there's not much to the game other than that. Very simple, and does what it was set to do, with not much flair to it.

Still, I have to ask, how does this fit the "running out of power" theme? There's not much to it lorewise nor gameplaywise, so it looks like either a copout or an experiment done regardless of the LD.

Anyhow, here's hoping you get to expermiment with more features for it later on. It'd be cool to see more games with this gameplay, but with new mechanics. Maybe lots of planets or even some sort of multiplayer? That would have been great.

If you've got the time, [consider taking a look at our game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/joulethief-charge-your-phone). Good job once again, and enjoy the jam! :whale:

battle-buddy 2017-08-02 22:05

I sat around confused a little bit trying to figure out the goal. Turns out this is a multiplayer game! Pretty good idea having unusual gravity for aiming. Normally these games don't have moving terrain like that moon, so it makes for a unique challenge in aiming.

arden 2017-08-02 22:41

Kind of fun! it reminds me of that old school dos game "Scorched Earth"

v-ad 2017-12-05 13:01

Good idea for game.

flip120 2017-12-06 10:59

Nice idea, very original

blazen 2017-12-07 03:37

It was a nice idea, a bit confusing at first but it was cool.

tobia88 2017-12-10 13:35

I'm not sure what it is, is it a multiplayer games? for throwing neutral against each other? The game is still scratch, i dont think it mix with title :/

Btw, the concept is nice, i love the projectile from the neutral missle!

prxmer 2017-12-14 17:31

Interesting concept but steap learining curve cant of hard to understand what the objective is

oscartrevejo 2018-04-24 00:04

Nice work lads! We also did a very original too, ye mid check it out?

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/hype-time

m-dam 2018-04-26 21:26

It's a cool concept but could have been executed better with snapper gameplay!

bhavin 2018-04-27 19:37

it was good enough, but still a bit of a audio would have been a charm!!

pond-loach 2018-05-04 17:01

please leave a web vesion and thnks

weirdybeardyman 2018-05-15 16:51

Npt a bad little game, I used to play worse versions of it on miniclip so fair play.

cromo 2018-08-15 01:19

Landing a shot around the planet is sooo satisfying, but it's really hard to do. I shot myself multiple times while playing. There are two minor improvements that I think would help a lot - changing the center of the shot power/angle to come out of the active player instead of the center of the world, and a better indicator of distance for the missiles (maybe by automatically zooming out or pulling the offscreen marker back towards the screen) to give a better idea of how long you'll be waiting for the shots to come back down. Otherwise a fun little game - thanks for putting it together!

aterlamia 2018-08-15 16:23

Fun little game feels indeed much like worms or something. ALso pretty art, however, i feel like the explosions did not really match. Also i think it would be easier if the launch direction came from the turret and not the center of the planet. But good submission

drskort 2018-08-17 12:52

Great coop game with a lot of potential :D The gravity is a bit off ( it still works the same even when the planet is almost destroyed) But I like the concept and the art. Could imagine playing it with my friends :)

anudin 2018-08-18 15:35

What's good

- The **out of screen** indicator. - The **physics** work exactly as imagined.

Could be better

- A **"forward" option** would be awesome. - **Music**. - Another **aim option**. For example the aim line could be between the currently active base and the mouse cursor - would be more intuitive in my opinion.

Shooting myself with a full run around the planet was quite fun - what's there works. Solid entry - Anudin

glowt 2019-10-08 08:10

It feels a lot like a mix between the flashgame Bowman and worms, both games of my childhood that i remember fondly. The it took a little while for me to get the hang of the controls but when I got it I saw what you guys where getting at, I think this is a great way to kill a couple of minutes with friends.

2020-04-22 07:19

Really solid physics reminds me a lot of the old flash tanks. Aiming a shot a really difficult but satisfying when you land a hit.

tree3 2020-10-06 03:03

Solid premise and physics, but the speed of the missiles could be increased a tad. My first shot stayed airborne for 10+ seconds and I thought the game had broken. I would also have preferred the yellow aim indicator thing be drawn from the active tank instead of from the planet's core.

chrispy977 2021-04-25 15:59

Interesting idea. I would have loved to have a solid end goal to fend off enemies without destroying your own planet or something. The physics were a bit wonky like others have mentioned, but overall pretty fun.

aashen 2025-04-08 21:24

I enjoy nuking Albania
