I got stuck on something like level 4. It was an impossible jump. I'm thinking I was supposed to pick up a thing in the previous room, but I can't get back to it.
I got stuck too on the level with a hole and a wall going down, one single "wall" positioned so that you can stay there, but no way to go up. The level before was quite difficult, too, so I'm not trying it again. Overall I liked it, the mechanics are good, I liked also the overall graphic style and the level of polishing. Good job!
Agreed with poster above me. Difficulty increasses a bit too fast. Solid game otherwise. Good job.
Hey! Good game, dunno why you have such a low ratings right now. Anyway, like the graphics, sounds, difficulty level. Didn't manage to pass level with a key, but I really like the concept. Good job!
^ It is a fun game and I enjoyed the levels I could play, but like others I got stuck on level 4. After triggering the cannon the jump pads stopped working and I could not jump up to the finish. Also there were a couple times where the cannon wouldn't trigger, but I could not recreate that. Overall I really enjoyed the game. It's unfortunate that I did not get to play more levels.
Also got stuck on level 4 because of the missing powerup, but restarted the game and played until the room with the exit right below the entrance (after you learned the dash move). I got incredibly frustrated at the first key level, which was way too hard in my opinion. I eventually beat it though. Solid platforming game with a very steep learning curve.
At first, I too got stuck at level 4, but it seems that you can only jump at the pads twice, so you cant fall of. Nice game
Hey, pretty cool little game you made. I was able to get to the room with the jump boots but they seemed pretty buggy and I could never get out. That's a pretty unforgiving level, if you're going to keep working on it maybe you could add some checkpoints or something? getting past all the turrets was pretty intense. Character controller feels pretty good, I felt like I had a lot of control which was great for how tight my timing had to be for some of the jumps but having the reset level button tied to B was very annoying.
I think i did not maded clear enough that you have energy stored and you run out of it when using mechanism. thats why things like jump pads, and the boots dont work afer you run out of it. Thanks for the feedback tho

powerboots ftw! nice polish on this too, love the sounds and running ani/effect on the lil character. congrats!
Cool graphics and overall impression, hard to play for me (jumping on temporary platforms), but liked the idea ;) .
Unfortunately I cannot play your Windows 64 bit game on my 32 bit machine, could you add another build? Neither exe works.
It is a clever puzzle-platformer. A really good games with a few flaws such as : - I am struggling with directional jump using to letter keys in the same time. You should have assigned the space bar to the jump. And maybe use the arrow keys for movement instead of the letters.
I maded an update modifiying the fourth level a tiny bit to prevent players from softlocking the game.
It was a lot of fun, and then it was frustrating... if you rounded off some edges to make it more approachable to all players I think the game could benefit. Also I have a feeling not many people are downloading your game because your using mediafire, I don't have anything against it personally, its been around for along time, but its not geared for games. for example on itch.io and gamejolt.com you can put instructions or developer notes on the front page with some art that shows off the game. Players like to know what there gonna dl. anyways that aside...
like you mentioned an indication of how much power is left would be great. on the jump blocks you could have green squares that turn red every time you make a jump from the block. The game was super intuitive up until you have to fire a cannon. when you jump on it maybe an down arrow could have appeared to tell me to press down. Also the disappearing blocks... why not make them come back after 3 or 4 seconds. I found myself in the power boot level at the top left and missed one of those evaporating blocks it took me like 15 tries to get up there, and now a little block was stopping me. It was more challenging this way for sure. I got the power boots and couldn't figure out how to use them. until i hit R and tried again. I could see how players could get stuck in the next room since there was an option of getting the boots or not. you could just jump across to the door. and the boots like like spikes kinda. it took some guts for me to jump on them after that insanely difficult level. The guns shot too fast. once i got the timing down just right it was doable, but I haven't been this frustrated in a game since super meat boy. the power boots only had so many jumps and the jump pads didn't work if you had used all that power. that didn't make sense to me. again some kinda indication of this power would have been great. it happened a lot the the brick underneath would disappear as i jump wasting my needed boot power, adding to the frustration. I like challenging games. This one had some very difficult levels too close to the beginning. Good job on the player controller, moving around was great. i liked the jump height, and level size. it reminded me of a game I would have liked to play in my windows 95 days.. if the difficulty was dialed back a bit. Great job completing the game. The graphics were really quite good! The audio could have used music. The sfx weren't bad.
I played on stream, _(VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/164456874)_ so you were able to watch a lot of thoughts live as I played. However I _**promised**_ I would come back to rate and give feedback. Any questions/comments use [@timbeaudet on twitter](https://www.twitter.com/timbeaudet). And **finally** a link to _my_ game if you wanted to check it out: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/edrive
Pretty interesting game. I liked the doors and graphics. There didn't appear to be anything that indicated how much power I had to work with, and I seemed to run out on one level. I did enjoy that blocks that fell apart on you. Then on the hard level I managed NOT to get the boots. But since it had taken me a while to get there I failed in the following level since I didn't have ability to double-jump and the game was broke. I guess that means a improvement would be to ensure that level design enforces required things, like boots - especially since I couldn't get back through the door.
The final thought I had was it wasn't easy to escape the game, ie - pressing escape didn't close and the window was borderless so I had no [x] to close. I like the graphics, simple but reasonably consistent.
Anyway good job!
I think I had a little bit too much fun just running and jumping around with the character - the sound design and controls were spot on in my opinion, as were the movement particle effects. I did get confused when I was unable to use the jump pads after a few failed attempts, I only figured out from looking at the comment section that using them expended your power. Great entry!
