LD42 — Running out of space

Space Evaders by Colin Misbach 2018-08-13T16:07:48Z

The wall of Explosions is too fast and I can't outrun it. Also, it'd be nice if the death line was more clearer. The particles effects are pretty nice. Shooting is cool, although it seems a little pointless. It also looks like it does a tiny bit of lock on? Graphics and controls are pretty nice.

Robo Revolt by Blazingbeta 2018-08-13T14:10:22Z

Honestly, the game was pretty difficult. I didn't get any points and the attacks only worked sometimes and were really slow. The sounds and art was ok. Pretty simplistic.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Xx_skateboarding_xX by MrChippy 2018-05-12T03:05:05Z

I love it. Played it all the way through. Just the right amount of difficulty with good progression. The art, music, sound effects, and camera shake them self would be bad, but put them all together purposely it makes it goofy and fun to play.

I especially like how satisfying it can be soot a target, but how it can also add a small amount of difficulty. Also just a note. I never once pressed the right mouse button.

Also, props to making moving and shooting a single button. It makes it simpler to play, but more difficult.

Harvest Rune by TheMonsterFromTheDeep 2018-04-26T01:22:06Z

Wow. This does not feel like a game jam entry. This feels like an almost complete game. You should really keep working on this and polishing it. Its a really awesome concept, tons of fun and really well done. The art is amazing, sounds are good, music is nice and not too distracting. Animations are really well done.

This is honestly an amazing game. Good job!

PE@CE by bwalter 2018-04-23T02:37:44Z

Awesome concept. It looks nice and pretty unique.

The camera shake and graphics in general feels kind of overwhelming. It can be hard to see where my character is.

The controls are a little lacking as well.

Eldritch Cuisine by LoHii 2018-04-28T02:22:20Z

Interesting Idea. I liked the texture based items and enemies and I like how the items swung in your hands. If would have been nice if there had been a sprint option, or something.

Crops in Space by mrjoshuamclean 2018-04-26T00:48:31Z

It looks like you guys did a lot for a game jam. Having an Option and About page is cool to look at. Overall, its really nice. I think the story, art and UI could be improved a bit

One thing to note, when I started the game up first, the scrolling background was made me a little bit dizzy and nauseous.

Also, I got an exception when trying to talk to Klaara? or the other person. Can't remember.

I didn't play too long, but it would have been nice to see some more interactions with the crew/ character development. In fact this game kind of reminds me of Sunrider Academy.

Go Green by oberynmartell 2018-04-26T04:00:38Z

Really awesome game. Love the mood, graphics and music. It took me a while to understand what I was supposed to do and how to do it, but it was really fun.

Maybe in the future have some more difficult puzzles. The puzzles were pretty easy. And adding more to the UI, like being able to select which building to build, which building to destroy, etc.

Crazy Cube by YANIV 2018-04-28T00:58:17Z

Nice concept. A little difficult. Sound would be nice.

Harvest Blood Moon by evandowning 2018-04-28T01:50:17Z

It sounded and looked cool, but it took me 2 attempts to actually figure out how to play the game. I don't understand why the action button is 'G', why not 'F' or even Space, or Left Mouse Click? 'G' doesn't really make sense.

Also, it felt weird having to go pick up my Axe? to plant some bones, then my Watering Can to water them. What about having a way to switch between them?

Blob Dungeon by Mikeliosus 2018-04-28T01:25:20Z

Love the sounds, art and mechanics. They go together really well. The world and level design is really, really good! The metroidvania, platformer, puzzle, shooter is really nice all together.

I think I may have found a bug? Got stuck when trying to move between levels. Jk! Just found that it's difficult to move up. Maybe adding an initial burst when moving up? JK Again! It took me a little bit to realize you have small indents where you can jump onto. PlatformBug.PNG

Also! Really curious. How did you customize your Itch.io game page to take up the entire page with a banner, but no background? It looks nice.

Sleeping Titanium by Poorwill 2018-04-23T03:39:47Z

Its nice and simple. But it gets boring pretty fast. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with my energy other get animals. I realize that's sort of the point of Idle games, but usually there's a goal. I don't see a clear goal. Im not too sure what the items are the right are and how to complete them.

Also, just a random thing I noticed. If you click on a piece, then reset the board. the visual isn't updated. For example, if I click a piece next to the original, it will move it.

Love Machine by Rulrite 2018-04-28T01:41:19Z

Its a shame it wasn't finished.

Jump and Draw by Call_me_Nutty 2018-04-25T22:31:14Z

I really liked the music, how did you get the pixel like sound?

I enjoyed the quick spawning, and the art was nice.

The game mechanics were interesting, but I felt like they could have been better. The collision felt a little off, the text was hard to read, and I wasn't sure how to beat level 1? I got the key but then I kept going and fell to my death.

Duster by SkeletonWithAGun 2018-04-22T23:35:40Z

Love the art and sound effects. A bit challenging. The controls are a little weird and you never actually mention how to get back in the ship once you leave.

Super Slime Slasher Ultra by sebastianscaini 2018-04-25T00:49:49Z

Love the Voice acting! It really helps with engagement and is really well done.

The concept as a whole is interesting and pretty cool. I'd like the collisions to be a bit better though. It was sometimes hard to tell if I would get hit.

Baseball Nightmare by Amazura 2018-04-28T01:56:32Z

Interesting. Nice mood and atmosphere, although, I wish the response was a bit faster. It takes the character so long to hit a baseball and kill a zombie.

The story was ok, but it was't too engaging, and I found a few spelling/ grammar mistakes in it. I'm guessing English isn't your first language?

Typer: (Word Search X Top Down ARPG) by agentendercake 2018-04-23T00:41:14Z

This is a pretty cool concept. I like the idea of improving by collecting letters. It would be even better if you could make even more things like Potion, or Iron Gauntlets, etc. Also, I notcied the enemies health doesn't scale? At least not a lot. By my 3rd sword I ended up one shotting everything. It'd be cool if we could tell we could build and item too and what letters we need to build an item. Ended the game at 6525 score.

Slime Garden by Flameo326 2018-04-25T16:32:48Z

@TomekS Hey thanks for the UI tip! I noticed that but wasn't sure how to fix it.

Slime Garden by Flameo326 2018-05-04T05:14:24Z

@Mikeliosus Thanks for the comment! A lot of people have told me the combat system is grindy and boring. I can understand this now, but when I had a bit of fun with it when I was developing it. I'm pretty sure I narrowed my focus too much and didn't really think about it. This was also the simple and easiest method I knew how to do for a game jam.

Thanks for the comment about focusing on the specific rather than the whole. I hadn't really though about it but it makes sense. For example, it sounds like people loved the climbing. If I had focused more on the world exploration, I could have appealed to a more Metroidvania styled game. If I had focused more on the combat/ spawning/ stat balancing, I could have appealed to RPG. Either way, I think players would have had more fun with a 'well done' mechanic and some 'meh' mechanics, rather than a whole bunch of 'ok' mechanics.

Thanks for playing the game!

Black-Crops: Tactical Farming by JaredEvans_Neumont 2018-04-25T01:18:04Z

Pretty cool idea, its nice stylised, and simple. I think the controls could be explained or executed better. Took me a while to figure out I could click on my player to change to action mode.

It'd be nice if I could rotate the world around. IT can be hard to click on tiles.

Not sure if intended, but I can walk through stone?

A Daily Struggle by Dakota Jones 2018-04-23T00:56:41Z

Very stressful at first but gets easier as you learn how the game works. Funny how accurate that seems towards depression.

Stoical Domination by Colin Misbach 2018-04-24T19:36:56Z

The art, audio and controls were good.

But the game mechanics were difficult to understand at first. It felt weird having to harvest materials, build units and control them within only 10 seconds.

Providing a tutorial would be helpful.

Also, more feedback for input.

Conquering Magic by Outfoxed 2018-04-24T19:27:18Z

I found the mechanics to be difficult to understand and play. The story wasn't too interesting either. The art and audio was awesome though!

Shoot'em at Pong by That Guy 2018-04-25T00:59:06Z

Nice little idea and pretty well implemented. It did begin to feel more like you were supposed to dodge bullets rather than play pong. In fact, it felt as if I had no control over the paddles and that I had to get lucky to score.

The tutorial was cool. It nice's to see explanation, examples, and practice it yourself to learn how to play.

Otherworld Influence by Zachery Anderon 2018-04-25T00:42:49Z

Audio was pretty awesome.

Graphics were a little weird, but they fit together well.

The shooting was kind of nice and simple.

The physics were a little weird, and probably could have been improved, but it was still enjoyable.

Learning with Mr. Bear by Nessa 2018-04-28T02:09:23Z

I've actually never heard nor thought of the idea of a learning horror game.

Good job.

The movement and picking up could be polished a bit though.

Roguelike Fishing! by Evan Lamb 2018-04-24T19:46:27Z

Graphics and sound are nice.

The controls are a little weird and difficult to use. I don't understand why I can do multiple things at once, like move the boat and fish, or why equipping and dequipping the fishing rod are two different button. They should be the same button.

I ended up getting to the Loch Ness Monster but died instantly? I'm not too sure what happened. Maybe giving the player a bit more warning?

Long Lasting Shooter by William Eller 2018-04-25T01:08:20Z

Kind of buggy, images are a scaled a bit too much, hard to control and understand what's going on. Music and Sound effects would be nice as well.

Memory Battle by Abhijeet Dani 2018-04-28T01:32:17Z

You should add a link indicating the game can be ran in browser (HTML5).

Interesting idea. I didn't find it too fun though.

Ludum Dare 41 (Lazy Lost Wizard) by LMcKamey 2018-04-25T01:04:53Z

Next time, try to provide an easier way for players to play your game. Having to download a zip file and navigate through the entire project is little weird. Try hosting it on Itch.io or something, and if you can, build it with WebGL.

Other than that, its pretty cool. A neat idea and pretty well executed. It'd be nice to see some ratings and more UI like, current jumps, jump length, ratings for finishing in a certain amount of jumps, etc. Also, it'd be nice to have the UI look nice, just some better text, color, and make it scale with window size.

Tactical Texting by Braden Bodily 2018-04-25T01:10:03Z

Can't play?
