I think the gameplay is pretty fun and the twist on the Keep It Alive theme is interesting! The slime and ground colour are exactly the same so a bit more contrast between the two would be nice!
Really charming. After a while I started thinking it would be boring and keep the same pace the whole time, but eventually I got overwhelmed by the amount of slimes coming at me. I didn't even care about their sizes anymore, I was just shooting nonstop, clicking like crazy. Fun challenge. Good job.

Pushed my luck super far and started blasting. The most zoomed out camera feels like cheating, haha. I didn't realize I couldn't walk through voids and got myself trapped! Nice job, was fun. Interesting to switch from endless pacifist kiting to attacking like crazy. The dash is a good touch for an extra skill component.
Not bad. I'm a sucker for this art style so nice job there. The game played well enough. The amount of screen shake for that small a gun was a little exaggerated. But then I thought, maybe that's from the blobs blowing up.

Nice game. I like the idea, and you realised it well. I think voids might have a spawn rate a little bit too low. I could only obtain one, and the terrain was quickly filled with slimes, so I could not reach any of the others that had spawn. I enjoyed playing it. :purple_heart:

I enjoyed this a lot, your take on the theme is solid; probably the best gameplay idea based off of the theme. I found myself ignoring the basic premise though and on subsequent playthroughs just blasting everything because I knew it was going to get super crazy soon enough. You could push the idea you created a little more by having a finite number of bullets; giving players limited resourced to try and achieve the highest score. Or perhaps a finite amount of time and multiple levels. Thank you for making this game!
@babyking I agree. Going back I wished I enforced the theme a little more, possibly having the player be punished for killing small slimes, and slowing down the spawn rate, or something like that to really make you have to keep them alive. Nice suggestions.

I think nobody has pointed it out yet, there was a serious collision detection problem. Maybe because the game runs slow in my browser, but bullets move so much each frame that they miss small slimes.
Anyway, I really had fun playing! The idea itself seemed clever and fun, and that proved to be true. Good job!
@igor-kingamer I had issues with that also while testing, I thought I fixed it but I guess not. :/ Thanks for letting me know.
EDIT - Just fixed the issue in an unreleased build. I ended up making the raycast width of the bullet larger, if that makes sense to you. Thanks again for bringing up the issue.
A fun little game you got there. What I liked: The graphics where pretty clear and nice, everything being green got me those gameboy vibes, but also... Everything was green and it was sometimes hard to spot Slimes spawning. They don't appear to hurt you in their small state so it's ok. The overall Loop was kind of smart, having these hordes follow you and pull them towards a choke point to obliterate masses of them with the void felt satisfying.
What I didn't like: I personally didn't like the music all that much. It feels too unfocused for a single looping track on a score Attack game. It sorta feels just like you put in random Notes into a program and went from there, while what you actually needed was a catchy melody that is both predictable but interesting. Again, the green screen. I liked it and disliked it at the same time. If you'd have incorporated a more clearer signal of Slimes spawning I wouldn't have anything bad to say about it. The screen zoom feature feels op. It should make the gun inaccurate and be more responsive to feel warranted as a game mechanic. (At least as a suggestion.)
Bugs I found during gameplay: When you place a void right as you die, the score goes up as long as the void is killing Slimes.
Pros: - Really cute graphics - Original take on the theme. Don't think I saw anyone approach it "from this angle" - Very polished, I haven't encountered a single bug during my playthrough - Nice amount of gamefeel present
Cons: - Seems like the only viable strategy is running in big circles and after 15 seconds shoot - It does not seem viable to pickup the void thing at any moment - Gets repetetive quite fast
Overall one of the nicest looking and most polished games I played this jam. Graphics are simple and well designed for the game at hand, but at the same time gameplay controls and mechanics are nicely done too. Gameplay wise I wish there were some more content like powerups or special enemies to spice things up, but I feel like for the jam game it isn't a big issue.
Cool music, and nice pixels in a limited palette.
If you work on it more, definitely add more guns, and maybe some more enemies / goals to balance it.
As @fancyreckless said, it gets repetitive quickly, especially if you're just farming slimes in a cycle of running away until they grow then chasing them back down again.

I would maybe change the crosshair to red or something that stands out more, I got lost a bit. Also dashing when standing still should do nothing, I'm assuming you're just multiplying speed for x time.

Awesome, very fun and addictive, the music and the graphics are simple and brilliant, the only complaint would be dial the camera shake down a little, I know you added it to make the game satisfying which definitely worked but after shooting loads it made my eyes go a little funny haha
Realy cool game. The gameplay is fun, not too hard but challenging over time. I also like the pixel art a lot. It has a very simplistic style but looks very charming.

Although the game mechanics is simple and familiar, I liked the aesthetics of the game... minimalistic and beautiful.
Hello again! In fact, the collision problem I had was because hardware acceleration was disabled in Chrome, so the game was running slow. Sorry for bothering! Now, bullets don't miss slimes anymore.
Fun, simple game. I like that there's a little fade effect for newly spawning enemies - gives you a moment to see where they're spawning from. The progression system with the larger slimes over time is cool.

Nice use of the theme to modify well-known mechanics :thumbsup: Color choice and overall aesthetic was nice as well. High score was 10465!
I've more or less stopped using the mouse due to ergonomics issues, so I'm always hesitant towards games with WASD+mouse controls. Despite that I kept playing this game for longer than I expected. The music is sweet, the graphics are nice and the controls are tight (although I would have preferred a keyboard-only option).
Really nice game! It was fun to play and the consistent GREEN colour palette worked really well! This allowed for a nice mood. I think some more diversity in enemies and terrain would be good, just extending on what you have (obviously, you had 48 hours, so what you had is perfectly fine). But sometimes the aiming did feel a little hard since the bullets and enemies can be tiny, but when there's more enemies, this problem (or just me :) goes away. Perhaps some bigger colliders to favour the player. But those are very small things compared to this game as a whole. The screenshake was well placed and aided the 8-bit feel I felt it had. The quality is there and it is a good game! Overall, well done! You have made a well-polished, high quality game!
Pretty cool game and nice graphics, made me feel like playing a game on my Pipboy :D the controls at first seemed a bit overwhelming but were easy to learn and remember, also felt smoothly while playing! I feel like you could've balanced the gameplay a bit better, having to keep some the enemies alive and then shoot them at a right time while having to mind not to be overrun sounded like a really great and interesting idea, however I didn't feel it gives me any payoff for doing so tbh, which is a shame because I think that's really a cool mechanic. The enemies never dropped anything for me :( Maybe the chance is too low? You know what also would be cool? If a big enemy drops a bomb or something like that where you can slay away alot of these enemies in a single strike which would make the player feel supercool, powerful and badass, which is kind of the point in hack & slash games which I think this is :) maybe the orbs are intended to do that? I couldn't tell because I've never obtained some :( A very good result for a gamejam, if you continue to work on it I'd remove the highscore thing and do levels with like maybe an objective the player has to reach (for example, you have to build something and the slime thingies drop resources when you shoot them, and the most rare ones are only dropped by huge enemies (which, if you're in troubl can also be used as those said bombs or something) Just some ideas that crossed my mind :)
Anyway, great job on finishing your game, especially considering you did this all by yourself, very impressive :D

Nice, it's really fun trying to corral the slimes and then mowing into them all. The art is cute but slime colours that contrasted with the background would have been nice. I thought you were going for a gameboy thing, but then there is some pink as well... It also seemed like bullets were going through slimes quite often. Still, it was a fun time despite that, good job!
Good that there is feedback when you kill an enemy or get hit yourself. Though, I still wish there was more colour variety. Also, the best strategy is just to run around in circles; which gets repetitive quite quickly. I didn't understand what the void thingy does. Lastly, the enemies keep attack after the game is already over.
