LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Bad Television by bitslap 2014-12-15T13:57:00

Sweet! Graphix and musix is very very good with supertight controls. I had to try three times before making it past the big telly. Good!

...---... SoS Save Our Snowmen by commanderstitch 2014-12-08T05:59:00

Nice job! Soo hard to see, but that's the challenge. A unique and nice game. Good job!

Screen Mover by Sh1rogane 2014-12-10T09:45:00

Cool little experiment. Maybe, make the window follow the player when moving?

SideLands by MoltenMustafa 2014-12-08T19:44:00

This amazed me. The overall best game I played so far. An excellent take on the theme, beautiful graphics, just the right challenge and a rewarding ending. Masterpiece!

WASD by ChrisMingay 2014-12-10T10:36:00

I do like a good labyrinth! Great implementation. I could see myself passing time with this.

Rudolph by TijmenTio 2014-12-11T11:25:00

So cute, I love it!

by gre 2014-12-17T13:04:00

Not sure about the theme, but it's fun and well implemented. The snowballs adding to your size instead is a great idea. Good!

Junk heap by Dreii 2014-12-10T10:06:00

This is really fun! The speed gets insane, but the upgrades matches it. I miss a good BGM tho. Great job, great game.

Gungeon by kaype 2014-12-09T18:10:00

Very fun and nice looking game.

BBQ DAD by Luke Molnar 2014-12-11T12:03:00

Brilliant! Always wondered what it'd be like flipping. Fun game.

Mr. Spooky's Monster Hunt by Jani Nykänen 2014-12-11T01:38:00

I feel like a monster killing all those innocent smiling things. Interessting controls that works well, solid challenge and gameplay. Looks alright! Good job. Didn't lag for me.

Kerfuffle by rabbit 2014-12-10T19:49:00

Finally got a chance to try with my bro. It was fun! Solid feel and control, good shakes and slowdowns, expressive graphics. I do miss air juggling my dead adversary, and diagonal sword.

Lost Path by louis.denizet 2014-12-10T10:48:00

Seriously adorable in all channels. Pas mal!

Run Bzzt, Run ! by Agram 2014-12-10T10:52:00

One of the best! Such an incredible level of polish! The music is great! Excellent control and platforming. I'm not 100% with the wall jumping, but I never am in any game. Grrreeeat! :')

Survive On One Screen by mtanton 2014-12-09T07:25:00

Good first attempt. :)

Litelane by furriKira 2014-12-08T17:47:00

Cool music and style, and a great game. Very nicely done for 48h. I like the speed.

Rob by SelfishGenome 2014-12-08T19:27:00

Nice lookingwith good music. Lovely environment. A bit slow at first but it gets better. And unlike mine, it's a real game. Thumbs up!

Faction Master by akirassasin 2014-12-11T10:20:00

The is the first time I play anything like this. I've never been big on text adventures. This somehow felt involving to play, and triggered my imagination (I played the first round without reading the description). A truly great way to move beyond the screen. Great.

The canvas was too big for my screen too, but a zoom out did the trick.

Snowy Eel Perimeter by qristofer 2014-12-08T05:26:00

Thank you for your comment! :) Time is the enemy in a jam like this. ^_-

Snowy Eel Perimeter by qristofer 2014-12-08T23:10:00

Thank you for your comments! :D

I noticed the effects in the game freaks out if the game runs without v-sync, so, use v-sync (in your gfx-driver settings) until I fix it in some eventual future update.

Snowy Eel Perimeter by qristofer 2014-12-10T11:37:00

Thank you for all the comments! :D

@Crefossus Cool!

The enemy, the Eel, was a last minute resort. I had planned lots of smaller enemies, maybe even human counter forces and interactive level design. But ya know, time and excuses. I will tidy up the code and see if I can get a better version soon.

RGB by Conk 2014-12-11T01:59:00

Insane! Surprising wall attacks and cool power ups made me like it more than I expected. The music is suiting for the game and good for 48h. Didn't win ofc. ^^ gg

Wreck a Goblin by ajopart 2014-12-11T03:45:00

Funny goblins. :D A pretty nice clicker. Perfect length for a ludum game.

Boom Blade Battle Brigade by Riocide 2014-12-17T12:55:00

It looks great and there's a lot of details. And it actually worked first try under ubuntu 14. A well made game.

Slope Challenge³ by Interface 2014-12-08T05:36:00

Nice and puzzling game. It feels a bit like a brain trainer where you're asked to solve a 3D-puzzle. Took me a few tries before I got the hang of it. Nicely done.

PixelSim by Ozcr 2014-12-08T05:24:00

Perfect game to play whilst listing to a podcast, working and such. A frame skip would be nice in the beginning, but then the money starts roll in.

Petite Juliet by kts_kettek 2014-12-09T08:10:00

Those tiny sprites are nice looking and that fractal is a cool idea for a stage. I think you can make a great game if you keep working on it. With respect from a fellow gl-programmer.

Summoned by jelly 2014-12-09T19:05:00

Nice looking, the challenge lies in finding the 3D-position of the platforms. Very, very tricky. Good job!

Cobot by GameQuester 2014-12-08T17:52:00

Very oldschool and precise, and hard. I like it.

Antimatter by Andynonomous 2014-12-12T04:27:00

Sorry, can't get it to work in Linux. Is the Linux-download right? I get regular exe with dlls. ;)

Antimatter by Andynonomous 2014-12-12T23:56:00

Worked in Wine anyways.

The music is perfect for this type of game, and I like it. Short perhaps, but it's a jam duh, and if you listen to Bubble Bobble and other arcade songs, they're not much longer. xD

The core game idea is cool. Like many other games here it's very slow first then super hectic. Still a great game.

Maybe if you make the pad go around in a circle it will be better? I don't like that the different pad states is differently sized. It makes it very hard to tell where to be, like playing with a bent club or tennis racket.

I think it could be a great game with some polish. Good Job!

Where is my sword?! by Kaijuu 2014-12-10T10:27:00

Beautiful art! I didn't understand the game too well tho.

Get Bigger! by admix 2014-12-17T12:47:00

Wow, a micro-katatmari. Nice idea and good graphics. Surprisingly tricky. I like it.

Sentinel by kipelovets 2014-12-08T23:43:00

MY ARM!!! :O Some of us aren't used to this jerky kind of motion... ^_^ Still, a very cool and good looking/sounding game. Clever! Never playing again, and I hate that lazy bum of a hero, but satisfying in the end, and I probably burned a calorie.

From Well by Rushout Games 2014-12-09T23:50:00

Simple and fun with pretty colors. I love the ladybug and the other sprites. Very cute.

Seven Lightyears of Bad Luck by kirbytails7 2014-12-09T18:55:00

It's good game. I like the idea of the ricochets, makes you plan your shots more carefully. I like clever start screens too. :)

Where They Once Were by Hempuli 2014-12-08T04:17:00

Beautiful art and a very effective atmosphere.

Gray Goo by Arowx 2014-12-10T09:48:00

Nice! I particularly enjoy the homing missiles. Moar games need homing missiles! I like the green graphics and the style. Feels really sci-fi-alien. Great!

Shifting Dungeon by codeapparat 2014-12-09T19:08:00

I'm impressed! It plays very well and the idea is genius. Kept me playing for a while.

Pengie by GeorgeBroussard 2014-12-16T03:28:00

Cute pingus! Lethal poop was the only "innovation" I could find really, but since it's shiny and fun to play I don't mind.

Orion by feiss 2014-12-09T18:28:00

Just super cool. Like this with some more action would be amazing.

Skids by locknic 2014-12-08T08:05:00

The control display where you can try the car out is great, all games should do this! Physics is nice when you learn to slide, and it's fun trying to win. I found it easiest to just avoid the enemies an let the beat each other out. The powerups saved me a couple of times. Sweet!

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Slam Jam Bakery by DragonXVI 2015-04-21T18:23:00

Oh wow, very cool. Plays very well. Good job.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Planeater by qristofer 2015-12-14T22:10:00

@davesoft Thanks a lot! :)

Light Speed Snake by davesoft 2015-12-14T22:14:00

Yes, I thought of QWOP as well. It's like snake on Nokia 3310, except every other direction, you must press the opposite. Very tricky! :) Nice!

LD37 — One room

One Room, One Core by mpe3us 2016-12-16T14:00:00

Capsule enemies attack! It still manages to look good despite the simple shapes. Not the most original idea but solid execution. Thank god for the speed up, I have other games to play ;), TD is something I used to play in school to pass time. Over all it's pretty good for a 48h. Good job.

KILLOBIT by bitslap 2016-12-15T00:28:00

Awesome gameplay.

Taffer by Daedolon 2016-12-13T22:28:00

A good first attempt. Time is always the enemy, I'm sure you had lots of ideas you wanted to put in the game, but didn't have time to. It certainly fits the theme. I concur with the others, the mood is the stronger area of the game.

Slime Box by KadaDev 2016-12-13T22:35:00

This is a very successful take on the theme and a fun game. Clear and effective graphics. Good job! Nitpicks: the control could be a bit quicker/more responsive (but it may be that my laptop is sluggish).

Tangent by rxi 2016-12-16T13:51:00

One of the best I've played so far. Graphics, music, puzzles. Everything is very impressive for a compo entry.

Defend the Room by shaulor 2016-12-15T17:19:00

Dual wielding, yay! Gameplay is a little on the slow side I feel, but still very hard. The grenade is incredibly hard to use when hunted by a pack. Graphics and collision works fine tho. Still better than my own game. Good job!

Walkie Talkie by managore 2016-12-15T17:32:00

Wow. The best spam filter!

UZI DUDE by qristofer 2016-12-13T23:14:00

@KadaDev
The GL API part is not that hard, software rendering would be the hard part. Everything is drawn by setting values in an array of pixels with code running on the CPU, instead of instructing the graphics card to do it via DX/GL.

However, since there are only flat colored triangles, no color or uv interpolation, it's really not that hard to do. It took me about two hours at the start of the jam to get "hello triangle" out on screen.

If you you're interested in knowing how it works, there is a function named "fill_poly" in the src file draw.c.

UZI DUDE by qristofer 2016-12-17T17:40:00

Thanks everyone for your trying the game. :D

"Why, god, why is this camera at the center of the arena ?"
"An why does my bullet have the same color than the floor ?"
-Because it's made in 48h. ;) I could move the camera or make the bullets pop out more, and more, it would take 5 minutes. But at the time of the deadline, I was focused on things like just getting the bullets to work in the first place.

Cancelled Refuge by SinclairStrange 2016-12-17T21:37:00

This is incredible.

Banira Shio by etherealWhisper 2016-12-13T22:56:00

Wicked. Great music, detailed classroom, nice idea. Would have liked to turn inverted y-axis on. I got the controls immediately bc. I've played flight games, even made them, but what to do next was not 'obvious' and took me many crashes to figure out (despite reading the on screen text.)

But overall a very good entry.

DiningRoomZ by winipcfg 2016-12-15T17:12:00

OK for a first attempt. :D Incredibly tiresome audio, since you can only hold down the button to fire constantly at a fixed rate. xD The enemies (some at least) take too long to kill with no differentiation in appearance (you can figure it out by their speed tho, but dang, it's hard in the chaos when you try to find a way out. Graphics and collision works properly so that's good. :)

Professor Killalot by Ourson 2016-12-15T16:55:00

I do like it. This was just good, clean, decent fun. 8) Character physics could be improved, at first, I found myself jumping way too high and dying with no way to stop it (by releasing the jump button, which has been an established jump mechanic standard since 1985). But it's compo entry, so you're forgiven. And it does make the game a little more challenging. Music is great. Well done.

Critters by Farelle 2016-12-15T01:38:00

Aw! I feel so responsible for my little cubs. <3 Great touch with the facial expressions. Very cozy game, even if nothing seem to happen after a while, but that's ld for you. Not sure how it fits the theme either, but a nice little experience none the less. <3

LD38 — A Small World

K.R.A.B.S. by limejuice123 2017-05-10T11:13:26Z

Good art, tho I'm not sure what I'm looking at (mecha-schimps-in-water but then there are trees... ah, must be an aquarium.) The music and sound design is coherent with the graphics, it's one of the few % of games here that has a clear art direction/stylization going for it, and I appreciate that.
