10/10 would snake again.

davesoft 2015-12-12 13:29

Haha, thanks

ammaralsharekh 2015-12-12 17:01

I get 2428
good luck in your game

gamestudiolive 2015-12-13 00:48

Good Game, helped me overcome my fear of snakes!

2015-12-13 13:47

Hard, hard, so hard. Maybe you should have made the food one or two pixels bigger.

martins 2015-12-13 14:42

Now thats almost a QWOP level of controll awkwardness :D Good fun.

dooskington 2015-12-14 19:13

Woo! New high score! Fun game. It's a bit hard to see your snake among the others, though.

rscar 2015-12-14 19:14

So challenging but I love it

qkerguelen 2015-12-14 19:16

Nice one :) I don't think that popups are the best options to display text but your game is cool :)

fakefrogsonly 2015-12-14 19:56

The movement was difficult to get to grips with as it was so different to anything else. Great presentation though!

icereci 2015-12-14 19:58

It's no snake, it's a worm!!
Like the game..

azureaspect 2015-12-14 19:59

For some reason avira antivir thinks the game has virus o.o
Played it still (dont trust the antivirus programs!).
I had hard time figuring out how to play the game, my snake always turned wrong way (doh!)
Nice concept for two buttons!

konwlege 2015-12-14 20:27

May you please make 32-bit version.

amras0000 2015-12-14 21:25

I've got to ditto OfficialProjectFantasy there. The food was incredibly tiny, to the point of it making more sense to just change directions randomly and hope for the best at the higher levels. Larger food pellets, or just a more zoomed-in grid would have helped. I loved the control scheme, though. Wreaks your brain a bit.

having the music open in my browser meant that it wasn't on loop, and I couldn't be bothered to restart it.

Significant bug: Difficulty doesn't reset on restart; the speed you had continues on into the next game.

davesoft 2015-12-14 21:41

Wow, your score was great! Thanks for the feedback. Making the window larger zooms the board in.
I'll look into that bug, shouldn't be hard to fix.

Fixed. Thanks amras0000.

qristofer 2015-12-14 22:14

Yes, I thought of QWOP as well. It's like snake on Nokia 3310, except every other direction, you must press the opposite. Very tricky! :) Nice!

ariamk 2015-12-15 06:54

This was pretty neat and tricky!
I got 3763 I think and am pretty proud of that score :)
I like the music too but wished it was embedded in the game and would repeat. Maybe adding a slower snake to start out with to get the hang of it would make it easier to start.

pjimmy 2015-12-15 12:14

awesome! very creative, good job :D

davesoft 2015-12-15 18:35

Thanks for the feedback guys, heartwarming stuff. I regret my 'external music' choice now... who cares about an extra 10mb these days right?

Converted to explicit 32bit by request of Knowledge (who made an awesome arduino game!)

anachron 2015-12-16 00:16

Good for my timing... not sure the music fits but it adds to the trippy vibe

deanoc 2015-12-16 09:48

Cool, hard to get used to it not being the snake controls. Guess too many hours on the original! Even with such simple controls, still found some 'tactics'!

gamedevextreme 2015-12-18 18:40

Hard

konwlege 2015-12-19 15:57

Thanks for porting but now it just prints "this program cannot be run in DOS-mode." and quits.

hotboxgames 2015-12-20 18:48

Wow, playing snake diagonally was quite the challenge, fun little game, good job!
Would have been nice to see where I ranked on the leaderboards but oh well :)

davesoft 2015-12-20 21:58

Thanks! I couldn't figure out how to read from Buddy in realtime before submitting.. still not entirely sure now. I think you're in about 9th place:
Jessica {"Score":2503,"Difficulty":13,"Competition":6}

Folk seem to either get 1000-1500ish or go nuts and play several times till they get 30000ish! Then there's a couple of nutters with 5000+ :D

phi 2015-12-23 12:27

That's really interesting! The music is cheaply implemented, but nice. The GUI is a bit weird, and it seemed to me that the game is slowed down by maximizing the window (is the framerate not synchronized with real time?). The controls are quite difficult to handle in the beginning, but it's still fun to play.

zenmumbler 2015-12-24 15:49

Your app has been pulled by Dropbox. I'm getting a "restricted content" page.

davesoft 2015-12-26 16:44

Fixed! Seems dropbox don't like executables flying around :)

knason 2015-12-28 20:03

This was a challenging game, I liked it! I got a bit over 2500 I think and was happy about that. :) good job!
