Great looking! Didn't get too far in the game.
Really enjoyed this game. The notebook was broken for me since it did not want to close if I opened it and started writing. But that did not stop me from trying to remember everything. Great art and great design!
It was good that I noticed on second time playing that with P you can open instructions as the initial intructions went pretty fast. I think there was really clever visual style!
@m0zrat Sorry to hear that, did you use the hints system? They're meant to help if you're stuck
@javid-ladhani That's not a bug, it's intended (you need to be able to type the letter P in the notebook after all), which is why there is an "unpause" button which will close the notebook. Thanks for playing! :)
Wow, this is _really_ solid. Rare to find a well-written narrative-driven game that is so complete done by one person during a jam! Seriously, between the fantastic art, satisfying animations/transitions, great movement mechanics, and a fun little story, I'd hold this up as an example of what to aspire to when you make this kind of a game for a jam. I very much enjoyed myself! Finally passed on my 8th or so run with 18 seconds left. 10/10 would get eaten by an impatient deity again. Well done! :tada:
@bloodyaugust aw, thanks so much! :D
Great stuff, very complete feeling and a decent challenge. I love the polished intro and the animation especially.
The gameplay mechanics in this game are so intuitive! It's like the controls become an extension of your own instincts. Plus, the art style adds a unique flair that keeps you engaged throughout. Definitely a gem worth exploring!
Great work, beautiful game !
impressive lofi pixelart
love the music and the vibe you are creating with this intro
I feel the numbers and the god talk is kinda way too big in the screen though.
Impressive work on the little details like moving slow on the water and how the cuteness of the speech sounds and color contrasts with the kinda scary mood.
Very impressive.I like the idea of exploring the map and make notes in multiple attempts!
It's a cool premise, visually the map and sprites are on point, and I like the movement. Unfortunately the text is trending towards unreadable; I wouldn't have minded but it's a reading heavy game! On top of that there's time pressure which is a mechanic that works against reading dialogue. Stopping the clock while you talk with NPC's might solve that issue.
Another recommendation would be to have a simple starting level that walks you through a small fetch quest sequence, maybe even without time pressure and a god yelling at you. Let the player get used to everything and then dive into the real challenge. That would have helped me stick with the huge mega level more instead of just continuing to feel stifled.
It's quite an ambitious format for a game jam though and I'm impressed with the world building you've achieved.
@labcatgames thanks for the interesting feedback! Was the font your issue with reading the text? Also yeah I've considered stopping time when chatting but that would've taken away the "point" of the game of frantically trading to get the items, so my idea was that you're supposed to die a few times while reading stuff and then put all the knowledge together to win. Also a tutorial level is a great idea but I didn't have time for that sadly
Looks and plays beautifully, I found the puzzle difficulty just right too:-)
Neat concept. Graphics look really polished. The font was unnecessarily difficult to read, when speed is of the essence. I think the game would also benefit from written names on the objects that are picked up. Otherwise though, it's a really solid jam entry. Great job!
This story is attactive to me, enough clear and simple! I like you pixel art and the puzzle is easily to be understood! If you can make more challenges such as minigame, this game will be better! Anyway, congratulation!
Well, at least my high deity granted me the privilege of walking for my short lifetime. Imagine having to just stand around for eternity, like the other fellows ...
Really cool and fun! :D
Very fun little adventure! I like the groundhog day structure, the art was pretty nice and very consistent, which I appreciate, and the music/sound worked really well with it.
I couldn't get very far, but I really enjoyed what I saw. Using what you've learned along with trial and error to beat the game in less than 90 seconds is a really fascinating concept that you executed amazingly, though I could've used a bit more time lol
@justking144 thanks for playing! Did you use the hints system?
Really nice little game, I really enjoy the concept of replaying to find the sollution. Only thing that I found a bit annoying was that the font was a bit hard to read for a game where reading is important. But other than that, great work!
In my first run, I couldn't understand but then i realized that it's a game which requires learning and planning through the runs. I like the writing and humor. The quests and the NPC’s are quite elaborate for a jam game. Pixel art and music fit the mood nicely. Good job!
