Great game! Love the mood and ambient ^_^
6/7 would look at her again
That's a 100% match for the theme! :) Racing and dating simulator are so incompatible!
Very good theme connection,i can't help shifting from the dialog to the cars and back over and over! very solid experience
I really like the story and graphics, reflections on the car is a specially a nice touch. Music gets a bit repetitive after a while but still good.
youve created the perfect Video Game
Congratulations for the game! You need to continue this, with a few more things this would be a great commercial product. I would buy this! 10/10 (5 stars in all). Take a look at my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/vector-rabbits-slayer
Really cool. Nice mood, great use of the theme. Overall really good. Well done.
One minor caveat is that for mouse control the area below the text where you are supposed to have your mouse is not great to use. Somehow I lost control of the car every few seconds. The area above the text field worked just fine, so I used that.
Great game overall, I liked the way you used the theme and the result. I only felt that the game was too slow, making a bit boring sometimes.
Loved the idea, and the game is really polished! I like how the "love meter" was also affected by how you controlled your car. The game was a bit long, but I get that it was needed to some extent to build the mood and fortunately the checkpoints were pretty generous. Fantastic work!
That was really cool  Very polished and down right Impressive! Great Work
Great game, very nice use of the theme. Nice story, it was very fun
Beautiful aesthetic, you really ticked all the boxes here fair play! If I could give 1 critique it would be to increase the pacing ever so slightly, but that's just me. Great work! Have a look at my entry here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/spacescape
I just love this kind of games. In really, I've done a runner+visual novel game for this LD. You game is very beautiful, mood 5/5, I really like the story (I love to make story based games). Do you have interest in implementing language selection on this game? I really want to translate your game to Portuguese, for free. Send me an email if you want to suami.abdalla@gmail.com
Great game I was totally in it and I really enjoy it. Good use of the theme and good choice in the audio. Art is perfect. Good job!
I got the feeling, when I can't driving because of the talking guys in my car :D Great game!
Nice art!
"We might just make it one time!" *crashes* "Not if we die first" "It's strange, right? the choices we make." *crashes* "You mean like the choice to kill us both? That wasn't a choice."
Great graphics and sound, and relatively fun gameplay. Nice work!
Oh, it's always weird to see similar sounding idea during the rating round. I love the mood here, it feels like driving in the evening.
Just WOW and THANK YOU for including checkpoints! That was quite the trip and I'm glad I took it. The mood, the colors, the art, the story. Great job on this gem of a game!
So simple but so perfect ! The mechanic is not insane but match so well with the narrative aspect. I really loved this game. Ty & GG !
Nice addition to this 'distracted gaming' genre that's been growing. The art looked really nice and the driving and reading made simple things become difficult. Well done. Cheers!
Great game and concept, really pretty graphics. Somewat reminded me of "Wheels of Aurelia": was your inspiration or just a coincidence?
Loved this game a lot ! It got a fantastic mood and an original idea. Thanks for the checkpoints btw !
@kromeboy we did not know about Wheels of Aurelia but we'll check it out!
Thank you guys. We're glad the challenge of paying attention to the road and the conversation at the same time hit close to home for some of you. That is indeed what we were going for.
We had an idea for the kind of atmosphere we wanted to convey through gameplay, art, and story. Seeing some comments point out the mood and overall feeling of the game is truly overwhelming.
We'll definitely go play your games as well!
That was pretty much a perfect jam experience. Polished, fun and powerful. Initially, I had some minor gripes with the story. Instinctively, I felt like you could've fleshed out or explained the relationship between the two characters better, but now I think that the vagueness was actually a good call. Also, I like how you made a non-romantic playthrough a valid choice. There's no game over screen or anything like that. I appreciate that. Oh, and you've managed to make a riff on a moment that was smothered in cheesiness and kitsch in the cinema classic called "2 fast 2 furious", send some light shivers down my spine. I actually feel like I got something out of playing this game. Something small that will stay with me. Will you develop this thing further? I feel like it has potential to be a full game. You can make an anthology consisting of few stories that play out during a car ride with a TellTale/Firewatch/Oxenfree style dialogue system. You'd have to work on the writing a little bit but I'd buy that game. Hell, I'd love to make it. In any case, this is definitely one of the best experiences LD41 offered me so far. Thank you and great job!
P.S. Late for Love is a perfect PSA for not talking/texting while driving. Decades of romantic undertones won't amount to much if you hit a truck while discussing them.
Great game. Polished, interesting and fresh, The only complaint I have is that the last stage is a bit too hard for my liking. Also, I think it'll be perfect on mobile.
What a wonderful game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7llm9eTY4YI
I got a so deep message playing this game ! Great job you're one of my favorite game of this Jam !
Really nice little game, simple, well made and efficient, good job ! Perfect for a driving prevention campaign :P
This is really fun! Whoever made the cover image, it is absolutely gorgeous. All of the art is, but I especially love the color in the lights/buildings.
What can I say... Engaging, gorgeous, brilliant. @lemonbalmgames said it all, but what I really liked the most is the open-ended-ness of it, not saying too much (during the game *and* at the end) let me fill the blanks with my own thoughts, making me feel much more involved. Fantastic interactive storytelling that really, really nails down how to use the medium that games are. The aesthetic is top notch, with all the little details like the light reflections on the car and the passing lights on the face... What a mood.
beautiful game! i love the flow of the conversation and the ongoing feeling of tension caused by trying to focus on the road. briliant stuff and lovely to see more text based games in the jam!!
Moral of the story don't romance and drive. Very good game.
great combination, the graphics and sound set a very lovely mood, well done
Wow, pretty hard actually. Guess on a cell this would be way easier. A fun combination of genres!
A very pretty narrative-driven (geddit?) game. The character and backstory between her and the player comes across very naturally. I was also very happy that I did not have to start over when I crashed late into the third section. I played the game twice, once saying all the right things for love, and once all the wrong things. I *was* a little disappointed there weren't two clear resolutions, and that a narrative choice seemed to only affect what was said directly after the choice.
The art is pretty spectacular. The character looks great in all expressions, the light fading in and out is an excellent effect. The reflections on the car are also a nice touch, and the backgrounds are all solid. I felt it was a little odd that my headlights had no effect in the tunnels, but maybe the darkness was meant to represent a darkened surface over the tunnel? The headlights are the only real thing I felt could be improved - light reflection effects on the cars you pass, for instance.
I'm very impressed!
Very polished and fits the theme perfectly. Actually it's very funny to play it, well written and designed. It was a good choice to experiment with the combination, for example when you have to move to the side she is telling you. Also the art is amazing.
The only thing I saw that maybe it could be interesting to fix is that sometimes while you are driving and the question with two-choice pop up the car stops moving for a while. Maybe it happened because my connection is bad, though.
Anyways, very well done! I will be looking other of your games too
Nice game. I love the art and the gameplay. Sometimes I felt that the mouse stop working sometimes, but other than that great game.
Hahah i love this game, so funny.
The art is fantastic, but I found the gameplay a bit slow at first.
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

Great graphics, wonderful car controls. This needs to be on my phone! BUT, lay off on the F-bombs, eh? Why narrow who can enjoy your game?
Game is very immersive.I didn't feel hard-done by or angry that i've crashed because I wanted to know what happend at the end. The narrative is excellent. Top marks to the guy doing the writing.
I am not a fan for how the game ends.. I wont say too much on this because dont want to spoil anything but a better ending, would've been better.
However, everything else is superb.
There's lots of fantastic details in the art of this game, like the lights on the car and on the character portrait. It really captured the mood of driving at night. Just excellent art in every respect really. I especially liked the colour choices, quite similar to those I chose for my own game, but put to much better use here :) I really liked the story as well, but if there were supposed to be alternate endings I couldn't find any way of getting the second one without crashing. My only real criticism of this game is that sometimes after clicking a dialogue choice the car controls didn't want to accept my input, which was quite frustrating. Perhaps on mobile, which this game seems to be intended for, this would not be a factor.
Great game overall, well done!
what a nice ride! <3 GJ 5*
Nice and polished, but I felt it was way too long for a Ludum Dare game.
Nice, simple game with really pretty graphics. The only complaint I have is how the text box takes up so much space. I would have preferred the portrait to be near the top and have the text scroll down without a defined box (or a more transparent one). Still a fun li'l game regardless
The street lights pulsing on her face is an amazing touch. The whole thing is amazing.
I wanna give it a shot on a touch screen at some point. With a touch pad, I'd occasionally lose control and I wasn't sure if it was something in the game or if it was just my hand getting tired. Occasionally also, it would advance the text as if I had clicked. I don't know.
The game was HARD (entirely because of juggling the two parts of it, too, which was nice and thematic) and I am glad it was obvious that there were check points, or it would have been frustrating. So thanks for making that clear early on :) (Also some of that might have been the touch pad.)
But yeah, amazing work. Top marks.
Great game! Great dialogue, great artwork, great gameplay. Now I understand why texting while driving is bad  If you guys are making a post LD version, a voice-over would be a really cool additional feature.
Nice game, liked it really much although I crashed everytime :'D
A game based on distraction, super concept and super implemented. "Look at here" totally threw me off. I really liked playing. Keep up the good work.
Would be great if you could try our game too. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/astropover
Looks wonderful and plays really smoothly. It fits the theme very well. I guess the nature of the theme is to blame for the game being somewhat boring. I'd love to see more text and more complex questions to answer. It's a great concept, I could really relate but while coding, not driving
Feel free to check out my compo entry [Story Collabs](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/story-collabs)
excellent game guys... the graphics, the ambience and the pacing is really good. check out my game, very different from yours XD (and crappier) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/goal-defense
Really great visuals. Good controls. I can see how this would be a good mobile game. I feel like the mash-up of the incompatible genres hurt the game more than it helped. It seemed like a well executed driving game with a dating UI that made the game worse or a dating sim with a driving interface that made the dating game worse. Would have preferred if the whole were greater than the sum of its parts.
I liked this game. I liked the whole mood the game created and I loved the graphics and the music. I thought the dialogue in the game was pretty interesting and I liked the story development. I also like that even though the protagonist is not really known (since nobody knows what he looks like) and he is also mostly defined by what the player does, the protagonist does have a backstory. In my opinion, I do not really like that in some games, the players are given a blank state character and have to solely define the character by the player's actions. By incorporating a lot of backstory for the protagonist, it made me care more about the protagonist and his relationship with the girl in the game. Even though the gameplay was simple, it was decent, fun and amusing to play. The gameplay was relaxing. I like that there were checkpoints in the game. It would have been frustrating to have to restart the whole game and the story if the player died. I also liked the concept behind the game and felt it fit the theme decently.
**Great art**
it's really good fun game.
It controls well, Nice story and mood setup.
I think you planning for mobile release.
The art is amazing. I love the glowing light on the character's face. It's a nice touch to the visuals. The dialogue is written very well, and the fact that it also ties with the gameplay makes it even better. (Got trolled after she told me to look at something on the right that one time though. Grrrrrrrrr)
I personally really liked to be challenged by driving and talking at the same time, and I believe you made it the core part of the game (perhaps). If so, I would suggest you to shorten the pauses a bit. Some pauses are a bit too long and they kind of go out of sync with the pacing in the rest of the game.
Great work.
Cool! This is definitely the most polished game I've played so far. Gameplay is smooth and challenging. And the art looks gorgeous. Good job! :red_car:
Good game but very frustrating to play.
Very nice! Similar idea to a game I played on the PS4 called Three Fourths Home (which I really liked). Graphics here are nice, and the movement of the car was super satisfying. I guess the narrative felt a little rushed, but that was understandable for a jam game, other than that the dialogue was very natural and that's quite hard to do I think.
I streamed myself playing your game. You can watch the vod of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeVofreh9pA (Timecode of start in the video's description)
Judging by the pictures of the game, the girl really likes to distract the guy behind the wheel, ahah. In fact, I really don't like how they do it, and it's good that my girlfriend doesn't do it like that. We met her on the Internet, I found the best dating site in the top of the best on https://www.100bestdatingsites.org/black-dating-sites/, and we have written off with her and have been together for a year.
