Excellent interpretation of the theme! Nicely done.

Lol, the commande edlay in there X) Was pretty fun but I think I hit all the walls.

One of the best implementation of theme I've seen so far. Good game :D

devastus 2018-04-27 13:28

It certainly does the theme justice! It's a funny one, good job!

I love the certainly unique visuals, you did a nice job emulating the "Outrun" feel ! The music is also great and fits the mood !

Regarding the gameplay, I found the implementation of your idea really solid. The commands are easy to rember, it's quite easy to know how each command will affect your car, ... That made it easier to grasp than most text-based games. However, the car sometimes behaves strangely, and it is nigh impossible to go beyond the base speed and stay on track. But all in all, great job !

I got 03:41:76! Cool idea, and pretty challenging. After a while I got the hang of the timing and the right way to slow down before turns. I did notice that the ramp and the sidebar things didn't do anything. Was that just because you ran out of time?

hopeen 2018-04-27 14:59

@evan-minto The booster near the start/finish line does speed you up a bit, but I did indeed forget to remove the ramp. Wanted to make my own map but in the end didn't have time to do any art.

The theme is perfect with this one hah! The physics are nice too good work!

Easily the best I've played this jam. Great idea, great execution.

Great entry, it's very entertaining, hope to see you in the next LD!

This works really well - the combination of the smoothness of drifting plus the drama of realizing you've just typed "right" when you really need to type "sharp right" as you almost crash into a wall seems to produce a nice effect, and the glitchy music is always appreciated! (I got 3:00:54 - not quite under three minutes)

yirggzmb 2018-05-02 06:25

I'm officially terrible at this. But it's well executed and enjoyable, well done.

randomhuman 2018-05-02 14:27

4:12:30. Man, I suck. I didn't really like the way the car drifted after a turn, it always seemed to put me into the rough. I really only used left and right commands, maybe I need to experiment a bit with braking and accelerating and stuff. Anyway, this is a great interpretation of the theme and the music choice is really great.
