Cool concept and awesome graphics! Love for this game fills me with determination.
I had to comment on this game - outstanding job!! Honestly my fav game I've played so far!! :D The game feels polished, is absolutely hilarious, and makes me feel happy just to play, even with the intense music ramping up and my car getting dangerously close to a system failure. Again, amazing job, thanks for the experience!
@randomhuman Thanks! It was my first time doing art for a game and I really like UIs, so it's great to hear you liked it.
Gophers is amzzing btw, my favorite game of the jam so far.
@mnickels Unfortunatelly it's not as polished as it first appears. On top of a couple of bugs, the UX, gameplay loop and endings need a lot more work. I'll be polishing these up on the post-jam release.
I'm glad the music worked out. It was a last-day addition that threw a wrench into development, but I think it was worth it.
Simple but fun game! Well done!
Your game are interesting, funny and exciting! We played at twitch in https://www.twitch.tv/videos/602458508 and was incredible
Thanks!!
@darksylvok1 Just watched it and it was **amazing** to see you guys enjoying it.
I'll try to equalize the volume a little so it's easier for people to stream it.
Thank you for playing it on your stream (Nice overlay btw. I realy like the moving border)
This is such a good use of this song and a clever and fun way to interpret the theme. I just wished the time would pause, so I don't have to fly over it, but the music just makes you rush :musical_note: :fast_forward: (and I guess pausing the music would not work  )
I had a really good time with this. The writing was clever, art was cute, and the music choice was fitting. I felt my anxiety increasing constantly, but the comedic relief always kept me pushing onward. I'm lucky my Babushka still loves me, I only ever made it halfway. It was pretty difficult due to the time limit (though I liked that the music progressed with it to the end). Having the car move faster between decisions might save the player a little bit of time. Nice execution!
Visuals are awesome, just like the old Gameboy screens, but still looks fresh and new. The gameplay is fun and tense and I had to go straight in for another go after failing the first time. All in all, great game, even greater Babushka. :)
I thought the first couple times I won, that I actually lost. Because the end screen is mostly in some other language and also your car is on the second to last node when you win, not the last one. Or maybe I did lose, I'm not sure, but my car still had some health left in each category both times so I think I won. Idk lol maybe make that a little bit more obvious?
Either way the game was very polished other than that and a funny and enjoyable experience. So, good job :)
@technonugget, thank you for playing. I'm glad you played twice!
I ran out of time to implement the endings. The bug and confusions with the endings will be fixed on the post-jam version.
Thanks!
@drumgadget-433 Your babushka will always love you.
I liked a lot, really nice idea ! :) You should keep updating ! :)
Loved the concept. Descriptions were hilarious, I could totally depict poor old Laika falling to pieces at each stop. Despite all the problems I managed to arrived in time for my baboushka's birthday
In the hall of the mountain king added to the mood. Nice choice of music.
Great job!
"Love for Babushka fills you with determination" - relatable
"You were late - But your babushka still loves you very much" - this is the most realistic game ever
Such an amazing little game. A perfect jam game!!
It was very simple but a great game concept. Music was so tense. At least I could eat the borscht!
There isn't that much to the gameplay, but the descriptions make up for that. Seriously, they are so funny and wholesome :) Contrary to what you wrote on itch.io, I think the game actually feels quite polished. And the music definitely helps ramp up the suspense in the end. I think this could become an interesting experience like Oregon Trail.
