I really love this! It's not a game as much as a small experience... when I couldn't figure out how to do anything other than destroy and knock around the couple of buildings at the start I, in boredom, went on to destroy everything ahead, and was astonished and pleased to see what was at the end.

I really like the cute kaiju. I've not found how to rebuild but I loved destroying the city :)

lereveur 2018-04-24 19:02

I didn't destroy a lot, but I can't rebuild it exactly as intended. A sandbox game, yes, but a good little poetic one - and I love the mood and the arts in a whole. Good job, and thank you : it was a fun moment for me!

super cute art and character design as always! I like the concept of rebuilding a city, it's an interesting contrast having a more calming block building game in between a destruction portion

wramp 2018-04-26 06:32

I like this game and pixel art so nice. But like other people I prefer destroying city than rebuilding it xD

weston-walker 2018-04-26 15:21

Solid controls and game mechanics. If you could figure out a goal for the player to accomplish you have something here. Nice work!

drludos 2018-04-26 23:36

The graphics and audio are wonderful, it's really cute, congrats!

The game itself is also very interesting, I was very surprised by the twist destroy / then rebuild, it's very unique! You should complete this game and add an ending, because it's the cutest entry I've played so far ! :)

So cute!

The plot twist made me smile (even if you anticipated it on the game description I had completely bought into the destructive Kaiju at first), and I really liked both the graphics and quiet, relaxing music

In terms of gameplay, it all felt pretty solid, the crane motion was a cool detail and while having an ending would have been a nice touch I spent quite a while just enjoying the rebuilding process.

Congrats!

Everything is so cute! The music, the graphics, the setting, it all works so well together! I just wish there was more of it to play with! My only complaint is that if you stack a lot of pieces on top of each other, they start to glitch out and sometimes fall out of the map.

foolmoron 2018-04-30 02:05

Really funny idea and the cutesy art really sells it, especially the expression on the kid when cleaning everything up. The animation on the crane and the tiny people are nice subtle extras too. I wish there was more of a physics kind of thing with the crane so you could play with it more. Or maybe some kind of puzzle to solve.

Cute Dino, cute Helmet, cute Music. Cute / 10

Sometimes the building-parts glitch out but that's acceptable. Overall a fun game.

And I really like that you used GIMP for the graphics! I also used GIMP for pixeling.

lautregars 2018-05-02 23:09

Really cuuuute graphs !! Sadly some glitches, but really the base idea is pretty good ! Nice anims, and very catchy music ! Gg !

infinitycore 2018-05-03 10:28

It would have been nice if you had added a secondary option for the mom's text if you don't destroy anything before talking to her.

aeveis 2018-05-03 16:49

@infinitycore yes, it would have. Thanks!

Thanks for the comments everyone! It was a bit of a departure to being less mechanics focused, but it's interesting to see what works with at least a rough outline. :)

The art and music are great! The destroy animation is the best. In the rebuild part i needed a lot of patience and i felt bad to destry it after the effort. The people walking is a good detail, maybe when you destroy the could run away.

hisfantor 2018-05-07 20:09

very cute little dino, bet the girls love that game

omiya-games 2018-05-10 00:23

Hehe, I actually really love the inversion of player expectation there; the sudden realization that one needs to fix what they've broken is both shocking and comical. To bad there wasn't an ending implemented, but even as a short experience, the surprise was more than worth it. Would like to see more stuff building on this idea!

randomhuman 2018-05-10 10:08

That's so cute. I enjoyed the rebuilding as much as the destroying, but I was a bit disappointed when I went back to mom and she suggested I wasn't done. I tried my best damnit!

frederika 2018-05-15 02:18

This is a very cute game, having Mom tell you to fix it was funny. I really liked that touch.
