I dont know exactly how to beat it
Great work guys, its really fun and well done managing to complete an entire narrative in the time frame.
That was fun, loved the music and atmosphere, really fits the theme. The jumping and movement speed was a bit weird to me. Other wise, fun. Loved the storm.
Wow very nice game i like it and play it more then one time. The art is amazing and music. NICE JOB! NO issues with gameplay for me. I got out of coal every time but i like it. Thanks
Gorgeous art and nice music - love a bit of accordion. Moving around felt a bit like sliding, but maybe that is appropriate for on a ship!
Made it to the island, I now understand why the captain wanted to go fast (but not faster than fast), that ending felt like it added another layer to the theme, I liked that.
Overall the pacing was really good, you jump in, you shovel that coal, and right when you think, "I wonder if something else is going to happen", it gets rougher and things change up. Then when your coal is almost out, the rough times are over and the next step begins. I don't know if it was scripted to be that close or if I just had that perfectly nailbiting ending, but I enjoyed that a lot. As far as art goes, I liked the character design, with the crusty captain and the big steve jobs collar matey has going on. Also compliments to mysterious music guy, I think they captured that ship voyage over uncharted waters with a bit of kookiness thrown in well. So yeah, great game!
There was an ubisoft game called valient hearts, this reminded me that
I like the art and the idea, but the lack of progress indication make the game dull, as you can't understand what is your goal and what to expect. Also, the speed go down to fast.
Great work! @drury saw this in ElysiaGriffin's twitch feed and had to try. Good work all around guys, no specific recommendations good LD entry! :) I love the end!
This one was very fun! Fantastic graphics, nice soundtrack and gameplay is also great. Everything fits really well and I love how the game takes you through different stages. It was a big surprise when the captain asked me to chop the deck, and after that to throw his pegleg into the engine!
At first I didn't know how to deal with the storm but I gave it a second try and reached the island. Very clever design, well done!
EDIT: I think control scheme would be more comfortable if you set UP to jump and DOWN to interact with both shovel and axe (could be played with one hand).
Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on my livestream!

The game was very fun! The audio and graphics were awesome! I loved the games intuitiveness. The game was a pretty good mix of platforming and puzzling. The storm was pretty fun to platform during. I am not quite sure how it relates to the game jam theme because from what I could tell you can not die. I also agree with @naca that it would be easier to jump with up arrow(Just my opinion). Over all one of my favorite Jam Game entries, good job, and keep it up!
awesome graphics!
Very great art style! I was waiting for a LOT more cruel way to "keep it alive, no matter what" where the captain would have had me burning in the furnace, but this was a lot more wholesome than I anticipated lol
Great aesthetic, and the captain is a fun character. I couldn't figure out a strategy to get through the storm unfortunately.
Alright I did three runs: * Medium to fast: got to the storm, but ran out of coal. * Slow: no storm and ran out of coal. * Fast: finished the game.
It's not very obvious to the player that they **need to go fast**; only that the pressure shouldn't go into the red. Though, I do like how you have to burn the deck after the coal has run out. The art is really nice as well. Though, the movement speed is a bit fast, and the game doesn't restart when you jump overboard.
