Nice game, interesting take on those side scrolling games where you try to get as far as you can.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD46 → Build with Haste

Nice game, interesting take on those side scrolling games where you try to get as far as you can.
Nice concept! Felt satisfying. Great game!
Cool take on the endless runner genre
It actually captivated me  also i found out that you can cheese it a lil' bit by going on the top of the map!!
great game, so fun! You should consider put some and particles on it! and sound effects whould be nice!
Nice! It could feel repetitive at times, but it's a good concept, maybe it would be cool if you could stop the moving blocks placing other blocks, and also rotate the blocks you place. Just ideas! :D Great job! Enjoyed playing it
This feels like line rider fused with endless runner game mechanics. I enjoyed it. Not sure if I missed it but are there any sound effects currently? If not I think that would be a great addition.
Thank you all for the feedback so far! This is my first Ludum Dare, and playing everyones games and having my own game being enjoyed is making me want to do it again next time. :D
@camilo-quintero You can rotate blocks with the mouse wheel or the arrow keys.
@1stepcloser Nope, no sound effects, that's why I opted out of the audio category. It's not something I'm very confident with, and I didn't have a lot of time to experiment.
Simple, nice and fun! Congrats on your Ludum Dare debut! Yes, please come again for Ludum Dare 47!
If you want some criticism, this game is a good example of what I call "gratuitous use of 3D". This is very common in Ludum Dare: games that are really 2D but for some reason were implemented with 3D graphics. In my opinion, your game would look *so* much better with simple 2D graphics than with simple 3D graphics! (But of course, you are the developer, so this is your call. Maybe you want to learn how to do things in 3D, maybe you like the aesthetics of simple 3D graphics... plenty of good reasons for using 3D.)
This is a great casual game, easy to pickup and play. It's fun to retry to beat your previous score. It would be cool to see a marker of where you got to previously so it's more visual of where you got to.
It's a neat and novel concept. You executed on it well, and it plays smoothly and as expected. It'd be nice to see this idea fleshed out more. I'd like to see more interesting obstacles and things that affect the movement of the ball. Great job!
Interesting idea but I think it would benefit a lot from momentum conservation - ie. There is no penalty for just building almost vertical blocks. I very quickly went to this solution then got bored of that run:

I do like the idea - could see it working very well with a downhill marble track style setup.
Cool little idea, definitely could use some little sound effects and more obstacles but other than that nice one!
Hey There! I thought the simplicity of this game made it shine. It was fun to play. I feel like it could be beneficial to have the game start with the ball being on the left side of the screen, giving the player more time to get acquainted with how to play. I also think you could have different sized blocks for the player in some capacity.Anyways, the game was fun to play! Good Job!
Good job on your first LD! The game is pretty fun, but I wish difficulty would increase faster, it stays rather easy for a long time. And since it's your first LD, a bit of advice: - Post screenshots of your game. I will attract more people. - Make a blog post on the main page about your game if you haven't already, this may get few more people to check out your game - I think you should've opted-out of humour and mood. It doesn't seem like your game has any jokes or is very atmosperic
Good luck in your future game jams!
@lamossus Thanks for the advice and feedback, I added a gif of the gameplay. And I think you're right about opting out of humor, I'll put more consideration into that if I do this again.
Very enjoyable :)
Really fun, simple and effective concept ! Works perfectly, enjoyable really fast. The kind of project I love to see in the Ludum Dare !
That's what I like to see in LD games. Small pick up and play fun arcadey titles. And it is quite fun, so, great job!
Really nice game, I like the mechanic of creating your own path on the fly, rotating with the mouse wheel didn't work for me though
Simple and fun game! Mouse wheel was not working for me (played using Chrome/OSX). Other than that, the game ran perfectly and I had a really great time with it. Great work!
Nice and simple fun game. It's a shame you didn't polish it more or it could have been even more amazing!
With a little more work it can be a fun addictive game, too bad you didn't have time to add sounds. I can imagine some blocks dancing to the rhytm of the music and you need to avoid them!
Hey there! I played your game on stream this past weekend. Thanks so much for sharing it!
I was immediately able to understand the goal of the game and how to achieve it. You've communicated the main mechanics and game loop clearly and effectively. And the simplicity/accessibility of the concept makes it tempting to play over and over again.
I think you mentioned that you had the idea for the "ball" to actually be a cat that the player is trying to keep from falling - I love that. A charming narrative and setting can only add to the tantalizing gameplay in a good way.
I would add a bit more "juice" to it - maybe some subtle shake animations whenever you "plunk" down a platform - some movement in the background - all of the visual interest I am sure you are planning to add once you've applied your cat theme to the game
Great submission - thanks for sharing!
This is a great concept, love it! Some audio would've been nice, but this is really strong regardless
Great idea! I wish there was an undo button/key.
