Really cool art style, well done
Impressive artstyle! Jumping and moving feels a little floaty (because of momentum?) but it looks so unique and gorgeous that I don't even care :) I love that nice touch that you can turn off music by using a gramophone. Not that I'd like to turn off the music! Choice of music is excelent for this game. Awesome...
art is amazing! Movement is bit challenging and floaty but its ok i guess. It has cool mechanics (creatures likes/dislikes items, jump heigh depending on backpack) but its not explained ingame. For example like/dislike items: i understand concept but game doesnt expain it to you. It could be nice if you can talk to creature and it tells you what it likes or something like this. Without it, its more like guess game and its loosing its deep and strategic potential. Yes, i can read it in game description on itch. But if i want to play it in fullscreen, i need to minimise it to check description which can break immersion from this fantastic art style. But its only my opinion :) game looks amazing, music choice is on spot. Well done!
a guide on how everthing works would be nice
I really like the mood made with artstyle <3 Keep it up!
I really liked this game. The graphics were incredible. Jumping was a little difficult at times though.
Alright i'm in love with this game. Excellent. The artstyle, the gameplay, i just love it!!! Well done owo
very lovely graphics
Clever take on the theme, gameplay and controls are solid. Graphics are the absolute standout though - the impressionist art style is stunning, very unique and incredibly well executed.
Artstyle and music craft an amazing mood. Gameplay is simple yet has a unique feel to it because this approach to platforming design isn't used often. Great stuff!
Love the graphic, it's very uncommon :)
Graphics are beautiful and innovative! I think there should be a way to drop unwanted items, since it is possible to not be able to jump back if one picked 3 items.
The graphics are amazing
Graphics are fantastic ! I loved the mood of the game. The physics is a bit weird and it lacks a bit of feedback. Overall it is a great great job guys :)
Just wow! on those graphics.
I loved the relaxed feel to this game. For a short example like this, I would have liked to see the platforms a little easier to navigate, but generally a nice concept, and the graphics are really great.
I like the atmosphere of the game. The music and the art style really creates a relaxing vibe.
On the gameplay side, a less "slidy", a bit more controllable movement would have been better I think. The floating movement is okay, it fits well, but it's a bit too hard to control.
When you fall of the map, the resources respawn, but the creature's health doesn't. Which is a very strong negative feedback loop. Dying is already bad, because you have to restart the level, but it's too bad if the health doesn't replenish with respawn, but the resources to collect respawn.
Maybe it's just a glitch. On falling either replenish the creature's health, or don't respawn the resources.
I would gladly see some more complex puzzle mechanics with this art style and feel!
Good job!
Love that painting, and the music is so peaceful.
Amazing graphics mixed with Debussy? 5 stars! Unfortunately, the game feel isn't very good, the jumping is a bit floaty and hard to control. The jump height depending on the carried weight is a good addition, tho.
I'd really love if this game would be further developed (and the jump was fixed), with more and bigger levels. Keep up the good work!
Great art style, and some nice game design! It would be nice if it was clearer what to do just from the game, but it's not too hard to work out!
Art style and the mood was really good and relaxing. Loved it
Awesome work! Hope to see more of this artstyle in your future games. :)
You guys left the first comment on my game, so yours was the first game I saw this jam. Now, a few days later, after having looked at an other 30-40 games, I'd still say this one is probably the most beautiful, and it has the most memorable art style. Congratulations!
I like the graphics so much! Very cool style. I'd prefer platforming to be more precise. And I think "fuck" at the final level doesn't quite fit overall mood. Nonetheless, great entry!
You are right. "Fuck" replaced with "OMG!"
So nice and peaceful! The jumping felt a little floaty sometimes, landing on the smaller platforms was hard. But still, the artstyle is just amazing and the music fits just perfectly to create a really calm atmosphere.
The atmoshphere and the painting style graphics is topnotch. I liked the music choice as well. If the controls were less floaty (as others already pointed out) the gameplay would be better, but it is not bad as it is either.
Nice visuals and style, beautiful third animal! Gameplay-wise, other than the movement issues mentioned, restaring just the current level on failure would be also nice (especially if this had a bigger scope, more levels). But above that, it might be worth thinking about another genre for this style and mood, jumping on floating platforms doesn't really feel right with the slower pacing the atmosphere would suggest.
The art is wonderful, and it goes beautifully with the Debussy. I agree with @mcbeutelwolf for the flaoty jump and difficulty with certain platforms. A possibility to only restart the current level would have been nice.
Very nice entry
When I saw the screenshots I was immediatelly hooked by the art style. Then my reaction about the style was: this is so perfect, how haven't I thought about this before?
But then the game itself is very challenging and controls feel too slippery. But the overall sum of factors make it a worthwhile play.
Are you planning on tuning it for a post-jam version?
Plus points for using the lovely Godot engine
Yes. I plan to do some updates after the jam. Visible backpack size. Velocity fixes. @splitpainter
Wow This looks amazing! Congratulations on the graphics score!
We have updated the game. It is easier to control and win now.
Lovely little game
