Love the aesthetic and music! It's a little punishing and difficult for my taste, but was fun to play. Maybe an easy mode to practice with?

Nice twist on this genre, and a lovely mood. Good stuff!
Amazing game! music was fantastic and worked very well. great job!
I wish there was sound effects when hitting the notes, perhaps you ran out of time? Nice clean art style. The level rotation stuff is really neat.
This is stunning ^^ amazing work! my score \o/

very fun, I enjoyed it a lot, I'll prob come back to play this after the jam! :)
@delightfullymad I had some sounds planned (and several non-bullet-based powerups), but time just got away from me. Thanks for the feedback!
@rickylee Nice! Currently that's the highest score I've seen from anyone who didn't code the game themselves. Most of my LD games have a third-party leaderboard, but I didn't include one this time because it's a Compo entry.
@dan-whiffing It's super tricky to get the challenge level right, and I think that I probably erred on the side of too difficult. Easy mode would have been a good idea, or maybe even a challenge slider?
Extremely fun, and I can see how it would get addictive! I wanted to try all the different combinations of power ups!
(Sadly, the rotating lines in the background during some parts of it made me too dizzy to play for too long)
@jadedresearcher That's actually really good feedback! Might have been a good idea to include a "motion sickness mode" toggle or something like that?
Congrats on getting the entry in! Really enjoyed it once I got used to things. I thought at first selecting a power changed what I was currently doing, so a tad confused there. But after that I really enjoyed trying different strategies. Music is super groovy and the visuals were solid. Nice entry!
Really nice game, it looked very polished and the theme fits very nicely! The difficulty was a bit steep, it was pretty hard to make it past 01:30, but at least it was fun to retry. I don't know if the game has an intended ending, but if so, I'd suggest lowering the difficulty a bit. Otherwise this is a great entry and had lots of fun playing it!

Nice job! When I first started playing I thought I had to click to shoot. But other than that I can't think of any suggestions/complaints. This was very well rounded
I shall return if anyone contests my global highscore...
2'04 way to taxing on the touchpad!
I marked it in the bookmark to play again with a mouse tomorrow!
Solid game, very fun. I love the name of the upgrade. The divide by two damage multiplier is a steep ramp up, but I liked it.
nice work, theres a few really cool music games out this year! Well done!
Is it bad form to brag about your high score in your own game? Because:

The artstyle and setting does a lot for this game! I really liked the gameplay, the spinning background not so much
Great job! Witty dialogue and realistic art
Really fun groovy time with creative mechanics!
Great job, got my head spinning! I like how music concept is used!
The concept is great, the music is good, the gfx are great.. wow really nice job! I give you a lot of stars because i really enjoyed playing your game. :)
Omg, this game is SO GOOD - I'd love to see even more powerups, I'd love to see where you take this with more music jokes - Mordents/DS AL Fine/Maybe "Repeats" for new lives... What a great idea - I'm jealous :)
OOo, i like the idea of repeats for new lives, would maybe help the difficulty curve
This is fun! The gameplay is simple but challenging as the time progresses. The background could use a bit more work (but understand as to why that may have been last on the list). Can't wait to play again!
I had a good time playing this game! It was hard to get used to, especially selecting the upgrade, but once I got in the groove it made sense. Good work! Thanks for stopping by the stream.
Can't believe people got to 4:00! Awesome the stun powerup was really really powerful. I think maybe stretching out the health system a little more would provide better feedback. Could do 32nd/64th notes or so. Sometimes it felt like I didn't quite know how much health everything had because there was a LOT of health in each note type - at least it felt. Overall really cool!
@nardandas Thanks for the feedback! Even though I don't usually go back and update my games after a jam, I think that I might this time--everybody's been giving me such good suggestions.
Awesome game!
I really enjoyed the music, it's very nice that you made it synchronized with the 10 sec timer. The concept is super fun, the crazy vampire survivor / roguelite upgrade system works well with the timer mechanic.
I felt like the aiming was a bit punitive, it often feel like you'll lose if you miss just a shot. The game makes you want to retry though!
Thanks for the game and great job 🎵
Very nice game! I enjoyed playing it on stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1625333441

Thanks for submitting your game to stream!
A great finale to end the weekend, I loved the creativity here! As a former band geek, I also love how you incorporated the musical notations in a way that fit their function. Excellent job with this one!
This was awesome! Very satisfying to play. Loved the music and art style.
My only feedback is on the randomness of the upgrades. At first, I thought I had my selection of the 3 every 10 seconds, which made me think strategy. But as it is, I'm really at the mercy of RNG.
I did like that some of the "upgrades" helped the enemies ... what if somehow the player got to choose upgrades, but eventually, they had to take the enemy upgrades as well. So the more they buffed themselves, the more they eventually buffed the enemy. Just a poorly formed idea :)
All in all, this was a great implementation for a weekend! Great job!
