Very impressive project! The tile system and physics is like a 2D Minecraft. I wasn't able to find any scrolls but I managed to find an Among Us character who swiftly ended by playthrough!

Things I liked: - fun little miner/platformer - I like how the various 'currencies' play into the game; nice 'circle of life' with rock, shove, dynamite - sounds fit the game - I LOVE that the scrolls are powerups, I didn't expect that and we seeing the game might be too simple until I found that - I'm glad there is a scoreboard for deepest delve
Improvements: - make the intro skipable for repeat players - expand the scoreboard concept to include which scrolls you've unlocked (can be a silhouette for those undiscovered so as to only hint and not spoil - also a scoreboard on max num of scrolls discovered in a single run would be fun too - unless you intend it as a surprise; change the color of the slimes based on which AI they use
Bugs: - didn't run into any
Great game man, got to the end #deepest ! First of all it made me way smarter and less superficial so thanks for that. Second of all, it was just really fun. I loved planning out my every moves and I really wanted to get all the damn scrolls ! Great job on making the game harder the more you dig, it really makes it intersting in the long run.
What I would do :
- Create chunks a bit sooner because when you're maxed out on the Field of view thingie, you can see blue parts left and right where chunks were not created yet - Make dynamite also kill nearby enemies or something ? Sometimes I just wanted to get rid of those flipping among us buggers - I never understood what the stones were for
Nevertheless, it's a great game man, kept me hooked until the end, great job !
Really smart choices made with this project: - Keeping upgrades on death kept me playing 10x longer than I would have otherwise - Becaues keeping upgrades is a thing, the depth requirement ment I couldnt cheese it.
Wonderful entry and smart design
@bw-devel didn't expect anyone to replay game, i guess i do need to add skips and replayability ;)
@fdk thanks. I thought about adding dynamite damage to player and creeps, but didn't have time in the end. You can use stones to make sideways tunnels, so you dont have to dig all the sand above
Nice game, cool innovative gameplay. One thing I can complain is the enemies. I think in a game like these there is no point to have enemies. Other than that it's a very good game. Good job.
One of the best games I've tried so far, the digging (because of the sand) makes me think before deciding how to go about it. The upgrades and the way you get them are great, they feel rewarding and have a lot of variety and I like the little messages in them
I think having the right click being able to turn sand into stone made it a bit too easy though
Scrolls are funny, and it's nice they give powerups. I was about to quit until I got my first scroll and it said something like "if my mom is gay, how am I born?", then I wanted to see the rest. I recommend adding a zoom in / zoom out. After I got a few scrolls I could see so far but my character looked so tiny. Also, I can see blue where the map doesn't fully generate. Stones are a good idea, but it took some time for me to figure it out.
Nice game, it was fun from begin to end. I died once, but since scrolls give you better start items, it encourages you to continue playing. The core mechanic is somewhat simple but powerful, and well balanced. I didn't feel I had way too many of one tool or too few of the other. The funny scrolls give a nice touch of humor, and completes the game with the meaning of being 'too deep' messages, both metaphorically and literally for where they are found. Well done!

Nice game, I liked the procedural generation :)
Game won't run on my end but I like this game concept
This was pretty cool ! My favorite part was the scroll texts obviously taken from showerthoughts, but very funny ! This game is really polished for a compo. The main thing that lead me to stop before the end is the fact that the level feels huge, and I don't have the patience to look around everywhere to find every scroll. Maybe this would benefit from a smaller level (at least horizontally). But hey, you've got lots of feature and polish, and even a start cinematic.
Really cool for a compo, great job !
