LD44 — Your life is currency

My precious life by Erkberg 2019-05-01T18:57:58Z

That was weird yet entertaining. I respect your use of cut scenes. The crying sun was funny.

Field Rations by Spennerino 2019-04-30T05:03:44Z

The cli was an interesting component of the game. The pace was a little slow.

Bartleby in Space by CarlsonAndPeeters 2019-05-05T01:57:49Z

It's a lot of fun to control that floating character. Very creative residents and interactions with them. The only thing I ever got was a saw from Otto...

Wizards Bane by saladon 2019-04-30T05:09:18Z

Fun little game. Simple and straightforward. Difficult with a trackpad, much better with a mouse.

Ballhogs by tddawson 2019-05-01T18:47:00Z

Lots of fun! Who'd a thunk controlling a block with a ball as it flies across the court would be so much fun?

Depths by potatolain 2019-05-05T01:30:22Z

This is probably the deepest game I've played here. Well done on audio, graphics, and driftwood/preserver placement, as well.

Zap Signal by christina-antoinette-neofotistou 2019-05-05T01:06:05Z

lol lots of fun! Although, I'm a little embarrassed to play it in fear that others will hear me...

What Death Has in Store by lot9s 2019-04-30T05:17:26Z

I think it would help to update the description of the game. I had to read the comments in order to understand what was going on. Even then, I'm not 100% sure.

What Death Has in Store by lot9s 2019-05-01T04:25:36Z

What was going on as I played wasn't very clear to me. I didn't see any indication of the value of my winnings, just that the word store was present or not present. I wasn't sure if the rock, paper, scissors game was all there was to it. Making that clear in the description would be helpful.

Kill'em by Aycan 2019-05-02T04:43:10Z

Good application of the theme.

Robyn Hüd by Michael Feldman 2019-05-02T04:28:39Z

It's like reverse temple run! That was a good game with a very interesting take on the theme. Well done!

It wasn't immediately obvious to me that "More Ammo" meant increasing my money capacity. I thought it was just another way of saying "Reload" until I noticed I had a higher money capacity than I started with. I'm not sure what to replace it with, though. "Bigger Wallet" maybe?

We Pay In Blood by PhillSerrazina 2019-05-01T05:00:02Z

That game was fun! Seriously, it put a big smile on my face. Feeling like I'm accomplishing something (beating enemies in this case) adds a lot to a game for me. Even a simple AI breathes some life into the game. It was fun to strategize by making the enemies group up so that they would only be attacking from one side and I could hit multiple at a time.

One suggestion for improvement is to allow holding multiple weapons. Maybe that is possible and I just missed how. I ran out of arrows and would have liked to have used a sword that I had previously acquired.

Zombieton by Norris Eldridge 2019-05-02T04:20:08Z

Solid interpretation of the theme, solid mechanics, solid music, solid game. Did you play the instruments for the music?

I noticed one problem. I think I spent all my blood at the store and died from it. After that, I could start the game, but I couldn't move my character.

Board of Life by Bentekiller 2019-05-03T19:01:48Z

Well done! It is nice and simple. I noticed that once my health passes 0, I can still move. I was still able to get to the end of the board before the game reset as a loss, and I think it counted it as a win and a loss, resetting the game twice.

PANDEMONIUM: A Card Game by Borys 2019-05-04T01:08:09Z

Very well done! The game plays well and the tutorial was excellent. I noticed in the tutorial that it says "This is your table" for both tables. Shouldn't it say "This is your enemy's table" for the upper table? Also, having a different color for the attack value than the regular text would have been a little more clear.

Deliver Us 2 Evil by kemp 2019-05-01T04:39:27Z

Am I the only one who didn't like this game? I'm just answering surveys and hitting people with a car...

Labyrinth of Lifeforce by Arthur Baars 2019-04-30T05:02:22Z

Well done! I enjoyed the sound effects, especially. Maybe I missed something, but it was a little hard to figure out what I was supposed to do.

Loot Goblin by Zeaga 2019-04-30T05:20:56Z

Just to be sure I understand and help others who play, the object of the game is to avoid being hit three times for as long as possible, right? Well done and nicely simple game.

Till Breath Do Us Part by DataGreed 2019-05-03T19:07:04Z

Fun game! It's like laser tag. Interesting interpretation of life as currency. Oxygen is required to live, but it isn't HP or blood, which are more typical interpretations.

Crumb by hutchings90 2019-05-01T04:47:42Z

Thanks for the comments everyone!

It sounds like the general consensus is that the game is difficult to grasp at first, but is fun once you get the hang of it. I'm glad it has turned out fun for you!

This is the first electronic version of the game that I've made, and I think features that aren't easy on a physical board (e.g. changing the color of a space) have helped people understand it more quickly.

I'd love to make a nice mobile app for it, but for some reason I struggle picking up new development technologies. Instead, I tend to just build it from scratch with vanilla javascript, html, and css.

Keep the feedback and ratings coming! This is my first time publishing a game in Ludum Dare, and I've loved it so far.

Crumb by hutchings90 2019-05-05T01:00:54Z

@bar Thanks! It sounds like you've been working on some strategy. I don't know if I've come up with the best strategy yet, but if you were playing with a smarter AI you might find that it would try to control your pieces, fencing them in at its base away from your base.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Sea of Lies by Erkberg 2021-04-30T01:50:21Z

What in the world did I just play? Whatever it was, I liked it. The absurdity of the game matches the absurdity of many human beliefs.

Boundless Depths by ping78 2021-04-27T18:42:53Z

The fails to load on itch for me. The JavaScript console says, "indexedDB database could not be opened", which has been happening no a lot of games, so maybe I need to do something with my browser? I use Brave.

Boundless Depths by ping78 2021-04-30T01:44:48Z

Great sound and graphics! It reminds me of Motherload by XGen Studios

Hole Town by dob 2021-04-28T04:31:03Z

~~Great music and sound effects! Those centipedes were intense!~~ This comment was for [Soil Surfer](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/soil-surfer)

Hole Town by dob 2021-04-28T04:35:54Z

Great sound effects and voice acting!

Hole Town by dob 2021-04-28T06:06:53Z

@dob Ha! I don't know how that happened  I updated that comment with a link to the game that I meant to comment on. I did play your game, though. My second comment is about your game

Soil Surfer by bentglasstube 2021-04-28T04:31:43Z

Great music and sound effects! Those centipedes were intense! Excellent variation of the snake game.

Into the Spike Pit by FudgeMcGroobs 2021-04-27T18:44:56Z

It was nice to play a simple 2D platformer. I didn't find the gameplay particularly engaging, though.

Untitled Bruce Game by icefallgames 2021-04-26T22:58:13Z

Very interesting! When I first started playing, I didn't think I would like it. After a little bit of playing, I started understanding how things worked better and became impressed at your creativity.

Delve Inc. by jacobturn 2021-04-27T18:41:22Z

I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing. WASD and space don't seem to be doing anything.

Upset Crab by 43sam 2021-04-26T19:01:52Z

A very well done game. It has charging and rolling, like super smash bros.

Chameleon Excavation by NykolaR 2021-04-27T18:37:13Z

The game is set up nicely, but it didn't feel very engaging for me. Faster controls would probably help.

Despair by blaster391 2021-04-28T23:40:51Z

Great music and SFX! The art style was entertaining despite its simplicity. I spent more time playing this game than most others I've judged so far.

Deeper Trance by dhim 2021-04-26T23:29:40Z

Okay. This is really cool, among the highest levels of creativity. One suggestion I have is to make the objects visible with fully unfocused eyes. That would make it easier to see, but maybe that point is too different from person to person.

Go, Little Mole! by maxr00 2021-04-30T18:59:39Z

Very well done! The music and SFX matched the mood of the game very well, and the game had great mechanics!

Go Deeper by Jeffez 2021-04-29T18:55:01Z

The art and level design were great! The music wasn't my style. More interaction between the character and other game objects could have made the game excellent.

Down the Dwarvern Hole by TheseusInABottle 2021-04-26T19:05:03Z

I can't play it on itch. The JavaScript console says, "[UnityCache] indexedDB database could not be opened"

Deep Mole by hutchings90 2021-04-26T23:30:25Z

@dhim Thanks! I really tried to make the game entertaining. Your game was awesome!!!

Deep Mole by hutchings90 2021-04-26T23:49:46Z

@andykswong Thanks! Yeah, the game is pretty easy. I decided to focus on providing entertaining feedback to the player when things like starting, eating, and taking damage occurred. Your game was fun!

Deep Mole by hutchings90 2021-04-28T01:39:03Z

@nigeynige Thanks! And thanks for playing my game

Deep Mole by hutchings90 2021-04-30T01:46:03Z

@quinn-patrick Thanks!!!

Deep Mole by hutchings90 2021-04-30T18:37:23Z

@hamblock Thanks!!

@albertnez

Smiles all around! Mission accomplished! I'm glad that things loaded smoothly for you.

The 'cockroaches' are actually silverfish and firebrats. If a firebrat kills you, then you'll see a report that shows the name. The silverfish wouldn't be known through typical gameplay.

Thanks for your input!

@mighty-mufflon-games Thank you!! I'm all about simple pleasures

@yellowsalamander Thanks! I had a fun time with the VA

Deep Mole by hutchings90 2021-05-04T04:58:21Z

Miningsweeper by Nick Barrash 2021-04-27T18:57:10Z

Cool take on Minesweeper! I love Minesweeper...

Brubnar the Barbarian in the Deepest Dungeon by Quinn_Patrick 2021-04-29T19:08:01Z

Excellent pace! The audio, SFX, and graphics all fit together very nicely.

A Well-built Castle by JaTDev 2021-04-26T19:07:25Z

I like the resource gathering mechanic

Deep Space Janitor by kristof 2021-04-29T18:36:21Z

Ha! I really appreciate the unashamed simplicity of this game. You didn't let limitations stop you from making an entertaining game.

Deep in the Graveyard by AndyKSWong 2021-04-26T23:49:33Z

Very good! It took me a second to develop a strategy, but then I figured it out. I still had to avoid making mistakes, though

Whatever It takes by BurnerReborn 2021-04-27T18:22:42Z

When I try playing in itch, it doesn't load and the JavaScript console says, "indexedDB database could not be opened"

The Avaricious Deep by nigeynige 2021-04-27T18:52:50Z

It's cool that you built an RTS for the web. I'd like to try that sometime. The music was good. It's cool that you can zoom in and out.

Deep Sleep - The Sandman by VeryGenuineCraze 2021-04-27T18:54:07Z

I can't get the game to load in Unity and the JavaScript console says, "indexedDB database could not be opened". This seems to be happening on a lot of games that I try. Maybe it's my browser? I use Brave.

Deep Sleep - The Sandman by VeryGenuineCraze 2021-04-28T01:36:41Z

@verygenuinecraze I got it to work in Edge. I love the audio! I also tried my hand (voice?) at voice acting in my game. It was fun!

Bit Dungeon by KroyIsYork Games 2021-04-26T23:58:29Z

Game not found

Dash To The Core by GreyBeetle 2021-04-30T01:56:18Z

I like the art. I find it amusing that the rocket sound is just static. The countdown time sound was nice. Very simple.

Ludu Hare and the Magical Carrot by Mighty Mufflon Games 2021-05-01T03:33:16Z

Very fun game! The music, SFX, art, and gameplay went together very well. Ctrl+W when trying to roll and jump is a dangerous button combination; I did it and closed the tab

Blue Square and the Mystery Cave by asdehielo 2021-04-29T18:41:59Z

Very well done! Nice and simple, stuck to the theme, excellent use of puzzles, and the complexity increased at a nice pace. Audio and SFX fit the mood of the game very well.

Sub_Mission by Chyrion 2021-04-26T18:56:13Z

It doesn't look like the web build is loading at all on itch.

Revolution Piledriver by kviiri 2021-04-27T18:30:14Z

I am a legend. Thank you

DeepInDungen by Agroithien 2021-04-27T18:32:06Z

I cannot access the game on itch

Dig Deeper by Incal 2021-04-27T19:00:49Z

It looks like I can only dig down, right? That adds to the game, since it makes the player plan more carefully.
