LD42 — Running out of space

Rising Tide by smilewood 2018-08-13T20:43:40Z

Awesome! Very good idea, I enjoyed it a lot.

Closure by isopoly 2018-08-13T20:39:17Z

The controls aren't super intuitive (not a whole lot of friction) but I think I get what you're going for. Very nice!

CLAUSTRO by Blinkenlights 2018-08-13T20:33:43Z

The music and graphics pair very nicely, and the theme is incorporated very well. Great work!

Petri Panic! by Zeaga 2018-08-13T23:08:34Z

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone! I really appreciate it. I'll definitely take your comments into consideration for future updates :)

Petri Panic! by Zeaga 2018-08-13T23:18:24Z

@blinkenlights Added screenshots! Thank you!

Petri Panic! by Zeaga 2018-08-14T01:50:36Z

> It does make me worry about the poor sanitation workers at the local sewage treatment plant though, what if the slime keeps growing?

Sequel incoming?

Thanks for the feedback! :D

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Hexago by smilewood 2018-12-04T03:21:12Z

Very nice! Really creative and original.

I think it would be nice if the board wasn't covered when you ran out of moves, as I'd like to review the effects of my last move.

I honestly have nothing negative to say otherwise. Fantastic job!

Demon Rising by GerardB 2018-12-04T03:26:55Z

Fantastic! The art is awesome and adorable. The fact that this was made solely by you is very impressive.

In addition to kamekai's suggestions, I think the dissolve shader (which is amazing btw) should be a little faster, unless there's some gameplay element there I'm missing.

Really great work!

Jetsam by Zeaga 2018-12-04T03:03:07Z

That's actually a really good suggestion! I'll definitely explore that option if I decide to keep working on it after the play+rate phase. Thanks!

Jetsam by Zeaga 2018-12-04T03:30:23Z

There is a set weight value and it will keep adding boxes until the total weight of every box combined is equal to or greater than that value. The total worth of every box combined is (for all intents and purposes) 100% random, which probably makes the game a lot less skill-based than I'd like it to be if I'm being completely honest.

I'll be sure to add tea in a later update to validate your expectation :P

Jetsam by Zeaga 2018-12-04T05:56:35Z

Thank you so much you guys! I'll definitely take your feedback into consideration :)

Jetsam by Zeaga 2018-12-05T00:14:37Z

Thanks! It might be surprising given how simple this was but I actually was almost late submitting this, so I unfortunately wasn't able to add the visual effects I wanted :( I didn't think of dust particles though, that's a great idea.

I agree with you guys on the music. We honestly couldn't find a more fitting piece and this was the closest thing we liked. I'm sure someone else could find something better but we didn't in the time we had.

I really appreciate the praise and criticism. Thanks so much <3

Jetsam by Zeaga 2018-12-05T03:18:47Z

I agree with that beef. If I had more time I definitely should've put in some sort of weighted system for determining what items you begin with. Thank you for playing!

Jetsam by Zeaga 2018-12-06T01:40:26Z

The credits screen is my favorite thing ever! I'm so glad you pointed it out lol. Thank you!

Jetsam by Zeaga 2018-12-12T21:34:06Z

Thank you guys so much for your feedback! I think you'll like what we have in store for the game's future :)

Expendibots by pandan 2018-12-05T00:25:44Z

Very nice! I love the various mechanisms (buttons and the sort)

The camera was really hard to work with, and it made it very frustrating to play. Other than that this was fantastic

Ethical Smoothies Co. by kypello 2018-12-05T00:38:08Z

That was a blast! Really reminiscent of the popular "Diner Dash"-like games of the 2000s.

The graphics and audio were, while crude, both adorable and practical. The faces had a lot of personality to them and I love the way you designed the machines. ("Choppy" got me good)

I love those little fruit people!

Really great work. I honestly have negative bad to say about it. Just all around awesome job. This might be the highest I've ever ended up rating a game :)

Gossip by MattWagar 2018-12-05T00:32:34Z

The ending was expected, but funny nevertheless! I didn't really feel like what I chose made any difference, however. Every time I did anything, someone left. Very creative implementation of the theme, though.

Savior by Harrison Ursitti 2018-12-05T05:25:07Z

Very good for your first game! I couldn't get the sacrifices to work, however. Not sure if that was a mistake I was making or what.

You usually don't want to give projectiles a rigidbody since they'll just be colliding with other rigidbodies anyway, which still fires the collision. Because they have a rigidbody they can collide with each other and some projectiles will get stuck.

I don't really understand the point of the time travel mechanic, but it was very well implemented nevertheless.

Well done!

Tensilver [HTML] by seizethedia 2019-05-02T19:01:19Z

The audio/visuals were great! I love the gameplay, although it took a while to get used to dropping with a different button.

Lifeblood Arena by svntax 2019-05-08T01:32:15Z

Very fun! The graphics and sound worked very well together.

Gore by Tudvari 2019-05-02T18:54:44Z

Very fun, and I love the art style. Great work!

[SHIP-WRE-KT] by webthingee 2019-05-02T18:59:30Z

Very nice! I love the old-school Mac visuals. The music was fantastic too.

Deep Space Prospector by Roidz 2019-05-02T01:01:45Z

Very nice interpretation of the theme. The game somewhat reminds me of Minerbot by 31eee384. Well done!

Loot Goblin by Zeaga 2019-04-30T05:24:43Z

@hutchings90 Correct! Sorry if that's not completely clear.

Thank you, everyone!

Loot Goblin by Zeaga 2019-05-02T19:15:30Z

@mika-la-grand We can't opt into audio. We didn't make the audio. If you don't find the game humorous, please rate it appropriately.

You could camp in the corners, but you'd die to unseen enemies pretty easily since they can appear from anywhere on a radius around the center of the map.

Thank you for the feedback!

Catch all the coins by Matu 2019-05-02T01:06:16Z

Very nice! The fact that you did this in allegro both terrifies and intimidates me. It's refreshing to play a game with such responsive controls, as simple as it is

Hemomancers by Aditya Kumar 2019-04-30T05:06:47Z

That was really fun! Reminded me of Final Fantasy Tactics or Triple Triad, weirdly enough.

One thing that bugged me was that I couldn't tell how my opponent killed me because the game ended before I saw their moves.

Very fun to play with a friend. Great work

Goblette by Nathaniel Jensen 2019-05-02T19:05:16Z

The attack and coin animations were fantastic! The audio was great too. The game overall reminded me of old computer games from the early-mid 90s. Well done!

Fair n Square by DaniDev 2019-04-30T05:23:24Z

Insanely good. I love the audio/visuals. Has a somewhat Shellshock feel to it.

BankRoll by Kharibidus 2019-05-02T01:15:15Z

I love this! The sound effects are very satisfying and I enjoyed playing a lot. I agree that the controls and camera need work. Great job!

A Hill To Die On by longbowrocks 2019-04-30T04:52:21Z

I like the idea! Just a tip, if you set the sprites to "Point" filter in their settings in Unity, they'll be a lot more crisp.

Survival Miner by FlayerWolf 2019-05-04T21:44:04Z

Very fun for how simple it is. Well done on your first jam!

Kill The Money by Copper_Aardvark_Games 2019-05-05T20:56:40Z

Visuals and audio are fantastic. Controls are a little awkward but other than that the game is solid. Nice work!
