I like the art, it manages to get the loneliness theme across quite well. Would be nice with a little more player choices.
Surprisingly engaging, well done. Is it possible to lose?
Really great, I love how you combined the jumping and digging mechanic. Also the character animation for the block, it looks really bouncy. Ores communicated clearly by using minecraft colors. Is the laser thingy coming down from above really necessary? I didn't even notice it the first couple of times when I was apparently digging fast enough, then I thought "oh nice he made a digging game without time pressure" and then it hit me out of the blue.
Nice game, kept me engaged once I got started, nice progression. For a post-jam version, it could be nice with more fish, and maybe a harbour where you can go and trade.
Good idea with the light cone, gets across the feeling of being down deep. Unfortunately I always ran out of oxygen and couldn't figure out how to refill.
I like the peaceful atmosphere and the simplicity. Could be a nice starting point to add some puzzle elements.
Nicely done, seeing the bottom after I died really made me want to go deeper and deeper to reach those nice shiny coins :)
Really nice intro and prologue, builds a good atmosphere.
Nice game, I thought at first that it was about throwing the spear past the top fishes to catch something deep. Took me some time to figure out the upgrade system.
Great use of the physics engine, really fun to get the submarine spinning. Could have been nice with some variation in the background/fishes when we get deeper. But amazing game overall.
Wow, this really puts things into perspective. Especially when you reach 500.000 times lightspeed and then scroll down and realize it's still going to take millions of years to reach the last galaxies. Especially the clicking really makes you get a sense of effort.
Nice idea with a card game. I text turned out very small on my laptop, made it hard to read.
Nice game mechanic, I found it quite challenging a couple layers down. Would be nice to communicate more clearly how and when you get eaten by the other cubes.
Nice idea, impressive for a jam. My dwarves always stop doing things and just stand there, would be nice to have some feedback on what's going on.
Nice level design, plays very smoothly. Some background music would really have added to the mood.
Cute art, nice work with the attack sequences and enemy diversity, especially the blowfish.
@akirassasin Thanks for your feedback, it’s possible to see more of the map by making your window narrower. I should probably add some css to enforce a minimum aspect ratio.
@theseusinabottle Thanks for feedback, I will add some sound effects post-LD 🙂
@phlip45 thanks for the suggestion, I even have some CSS lying around for it, I'm just a bit reluctant to make changes after the end of the competition.
Edit: I made the change to force a maximum width, since it was one line of CSS. I hope this is not bending the rules too much.
@hutchings90 right, although this was probably just as much a result of the time constraints as it was a deliberate decision.
@tim77 thanks for feedback, actually I had temporarily forgotten how to do collision detection, so after having spent 3 hours to get it to work more or less, I decided that I would just have to live with that particular bug. Power-ups could indeed be nice, I also wish that I had had more time to spend on the level design.
@joeshanahan @rolle The exit is when you walk into the right-side of the screen, which is blocked everywhere by blocks except at the very bottom. Unfortunately I noticed too late that it was not communicated clearly (or rather not at all). I tried to alleviate the problem a bit by making this "staircase" at the bottom that leads you to the right, I was hoping that would help a little.
@vixenmink exit is the place with no blocks on the right side of the screen, it’s really badly communicated, sorry about that
Difficult but fun to play
