LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Ticket to Loop by Rost 2020-10-06T16:28:58Z

Being stuck in a loop isn't so bad if you can shoot down hordes of skeletons!

The art is cute and instantly recognizable. The sound is nice but starts being weird after picking up a few passengers.

The gameplay is fun as it is, adding a score - like other commenters already said - would have been a nice addition. Good job!

3 Minutes by PeaNud 2020-10-06T00:12:51Z

Nice work, a puzzle game with not enough time to solve is a great idea.

I don't think the ending played correctly for me, after interacting with the wheel I only saw empty space.

The time reset mechanic was really fun, I think there is a lot of potential for this idea.

Building railway loops, nice idea!

I really like the art and music, the money sound effect turned out great.

A way to interact with the game during the early stages of building would be nice to speed up the idling process. Maybe clicking a train gives it a short speed boost? (Additionally, the web version unfortunately paused whenever the game was not focused)

I love train / transport simulators and your game is really reminiscent of an early prototype of any of the big transport simulators. Good job!

Hard but solvable puzzle game!

The sprites are very recognizable and the 8-bit music lends itself well to the theme of the game.

The last level was quite the brain teaser. I used the i=10 tiles as "checkpoints" to think through the next steps. Having them be actual checkpoints instead of getting reset to the very beginning of the level would be nice (although this does conflict with the blue continue tiles).

Being able to make your own levels is a very nice idea. I feel like an astonishing amount of effort went into making this game.

Space Wrangler by AmbaDev 2020-10-05T23:56:24Z

Great artistic qualities! The sprites are cute and the music is really catchy.

The levels had some boring downtime in them. Pushing enemies and friendlies seemed like the best option once I've run out of resources.

I really like your interpretation of the theme.

Jungle Jam by Daxic 2020-10-06T12:40:32Z

The art is amazing!

I really liked the idea of looping the same level without resetting the hit points, this made every hit count.

The interface might need a little rework. I was confused about reloading and when I could or couldn't shoot.

The gameplay itself felt nice. Splattering pesky enemies with the shotgun was great :D

Space Minigolf by russeli 2020-10-06T16:43:05Z

Really interesting idea!

I enjoyed slowly getting the hang of placing wormholes over time. (I was still really bad at it at the end, my final score was over 400 :D).

The placement of a wormhole instantly changing the direction of the space rocket was irritating at first, smoothing this transition might make for a better experience.

I really liked the level design, especially the level with the small hole-in-one gap and an alternative long way around.

Good job!

UnderLoop by FadrikAlexander 2020-10-06T10:04:56Z

A very interesting concept. I actually felt lost before taking notes where some of the NPCs where.

The sprites and most sounds are fitting (damn that green snail!), but the movement feels off somehow.

Unfortunately, I once clicked the "Back to Main Menu" button in the backpack while absentmindedly thinking it was the "Back to Game" button :D. I didn't lose too much progress though.

I really liked how the background music added to the mood of being stuck in a labyrinth.

The ending feels like this game is a prologue to something greater.

Stuck in a Soup Loop by Doot 2020-10-06T14:41:40Z

Amazing game!

The characters are cute and the music and sound effects are really fitting.

The gameplay is getting really hard in the later stages. Remembering multiple recipes while going as fast as I can was nearly impossible for me :D

Unfortunately, I once needed to make a soup without a recipe which I haven't made in the round before, so I didn't know the amount of each ingredient. Additionally, changing the side of ingredients between levels made it harder to remember the recipes, as I sometimes associated a recipe with "2 ingredients from the left, 2 from the right", or similar.

Nevertheless, the hectic gameplay was really fun, it really reminded me of Overcooked. Great work!

AndreOL Revenge by AdrianKrawczyk 2020-10-05T23:42:58Z

Very interesting concept, picking up abilities as you go (or avoiding them, if they are abilities you do not want) makes for interesting decisions during gameplay.

The interface might need some rework. I had trouble figuring out what each UI element meant (besides the health and mana bars).

The "summons" are pretty overpowered right now, they basically managed to defeat the boss without my help :D

The Little Perpetual Errand Boy by Bocchi-dev 2020-10-06T14:29:15Z

This is amazing progress for a single person! No need to hide your accomplishment.

The art and music are nice, the gameplay feels a bit jerky but smooth enough.

I really liked the boss fight against the evil king.

Recycling loop by ElectricStalin 2020-10-06T09:35:37Z

A very wholesome idea!

Having unlimited cargo space on the drone made it a bit too easy to collect and recycle all bottles. Unfortunately, I didn't get any more bottles after the first truck.

I liked how all people flocked to the first truck at the same time. I really like your interpretation of the theme.

Loophole by tverdo 2020-10-06T12:22:59Z

Wheeee, going fast :).

I really like the aesthethics of the game. Very minimalistic, but it works.

I would have loved an indication on the walls and obstacles that show where they will move or where a gap will form. As it stands now, it was more of a trial and error for me when going fast near the end of each level.

Some of the walls near the end showed a pattern of where the gaps will be (I think the last level had counter-clockwise gaps - up, left, down, right). Fitting in these gaps in time at high speed felt great.

Loopshoots by Stipple3D by stipple3D 2020-10-06T00:02:39Z

The generation of loops felt rather random and impossible to influence to me. This made it feel like a solo Pong with multiple balls.

Being able to stack balls whenever they get in the same loop was somewhat rewarding.

I think it's a nice start for something more developed.

Donut Island by odedro987 2020-10-06T10:13:09Z

Great top-down shooter!

The sprites are great and the music is catchy.

Falling down being game over feels a bit too harsh, I think just taking damage and getting reset on the donut would be fairer.

Once I got a few upgrades I felt much stronger. I still couldn't last very long in all my attempts though :D

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

The Meaning of Life Is by AfroAnt 2021-04-26T13:35:49Z

I was so glad to get rid of the followers, only to be pestered by something else, damn them all

Great game, I had a lot of fun. A very nice take on the theme.

SUPER RED by neonjeff 2021-04-26T13:27:00Z

I got a jump scare out of the cat, as I was zoomed in and suddenly a giant monster cat approached me . Cute little game, I especially liked the music.

Past the Final Frontier by towergame 2021-04-26T18:54:13Z

I like the idea of researching upgrades to your rockets while still being able to choose cheaper parts to send off. While the visuals match the 80s look you were going for, the CRT effect made some text really hard to read for me, especially near the edges of the screen. I liked the audio, the music really fits the space exploration theme.

Into The Depth by Szymon OGD 2021-04-26T18:33:26Z

Nice game, the difficulty is quite high (I've never been particularly good at these types of games though). I really liked the graphics and the kinda eerily sounding audio, well done!

SpearFalls by Fehnnunes 2021-04-26T13:20:51Z

Neat take one the theme, reminds me of other classic games like this. I feel like the difficulty could ramp up faster, the first few hundred meters felt quite slow.

Nice job finishing your game!
