I liked the little hop carrots do when you finish digging them out. Gives the player good feedback as when the process is over
Very good game! Loved trying to save all of the carrots while the farmer was chasing me.
Spooky as hell loved the farmer grumble and the carrot pulling sounds a lot incredibly cool art style, i had a moment where i realised the giant shapes were giant axes in stumps, and it felt very cool Great submission :)
Really great atmosphere, love the sense of scale and the aesthetics :)
Loved the art style. I wasn't expecting the huge person, that was a pleasant surprise. Reminded me of "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" (yeah, I'm that old). It was quite disorienting at first, I didn't realize there was more than one group of carrots for a while, I thought I was running into the same ones, and they were underground again because the farmer stepped on them and pushed them back inside. Eventually I figured it out, and noticed the counter in the corner. If the counter were a bit more noticeable (maybe make it flash or something when a carrot is harvested), it would be more obvious. Great submission nonetheless.
@vasco-freitas thanks for the feedback. Good point about each group looking identical - I didn't think to make them visually distinct. Adjusting the counter is a good idea too.
Pretty cool game! Im not sure if its just me but all the game sounds were pretty quiet so it got pretty weird trying to kite an enemy that moved super slow and I couldn't really see. So I ended up leading him around and around INTO the plot I was trying to rescue xD. Perhaps he could lose attention at times and do a predetermined path? Might give more meaning to the various giant props. Otherwise cool game!
The farmer came outa nowhere nearly gave me a heart attack! Love the creepy atmosphere, and gameplay is smooth! A little bit of sound would go a long way in terms of increasing tension, but I'm sure you would have nailed that too if you had enough time xD All in all, an awesome game!
@pazzi thanks for playing! sorry about the sound, there are actually SFX in there just didn't have time to balance so they're pretty quiet.
@haztro Ooh! I can hear it! It actually makes it feel more intense haha!
Visuals are cool. I love the feeling of being so little and the farmer is like a giant. I wish sounds were louder cause I had to volume my speakers up to hear at least something. And first I thought I can just hide in the rock's shadow but the farmer always knows where am I. But still it was fun experience!
Such a cool application of the theme!
The sounds, fog, and the indistinct legs of the farmer really give it that survival horror atmosphere.
The sounds were a little bit quiet and some music would have added to the vibe as well. It would also have been good to have more things around to sell the environment at every scale, instead of just large farmer-sized objects. The grass fence around the outside is also a little bit janky up close.
I also thought that I could hide inside the fence area at first, which turned out not to be the case. Not sure if I was justified in thinking that but I did find it intuitive.
This is a great perspective! I enjoyed the feeling of being small and defenseless, and the first time the farmer showed up was really surprising. So stampy!!
I think the audio could have used more thought, though it's understandable to run out of time especially as a solo dev! I couldn't quite tell what the sound in the background was ... my stomach grumbling for all those carrots? hehe
Wasn't expecting to play a horror-game-like game, but here we are. Somehow managed to survive after a few tries. I think if it had suspenseful reactive music it would be more immersive and scary. No big issues when playing the game. Having to save the carrots from the farmer was an interesting concept. Good work!
Great graphics, but the game could really use a tutorial of some sort! Some carrots early on along with a message to the player would help a lot.
