Fun game! Some nice feel when I place towers or win a level. Great job!
This was really fun! It was quite challenging in a very good way... frustrating until you figure it out. Then you're wondering why you didn't do that earlier.
I went into the game kind of expecting NPC's to start getting produced out of the buildings. The "building your civilization" description kinda threw me off. Took me maybe a couple minutes of clicking on things before I realized the buildings themselves produce the action of cutting trees and gathering resources.
Good job on the polish! It looks really pretty and plays like a dream.
Extremely polished and very fun to play! Would love to see it get finished one day.
Cool game! Art style was really polished, and the puzzles were a good balance of challenging and fun. Great job
Extremely good, with some more polishing and maybe long term items could be a good mobile release
Wow that was genius. I honestly could've played at least 2-30 more rounds. I really admire people who can make real puzzle games like this. I almost never downlaod but the artwork and gif immediately drew me in too.
TODO: review game
Very great game ! Lots of great puzzle, the difficulty curve can be a little unsettling, but it's normal for a jam, great job !
Wow! It's awesome. I will play it a lot of times :)
Hey I actually played this twice and it was much easier the second run. I suppose that puts things into perspective. You can probably number your stages next time so we can provide commentary on each stage individually, on their mechanics and difficulty. Congrats on making a very fun game.
Fantastically polished game, from music and sound effects to art and gameplay. Once i figured out how to manouver around bandits, the game became all to easy :)
I thought I was getting into a resource management RTS, but instead got a nice little puzzle game. Can't say I am complaining though.
The game ended just as at it started getting samey.
Awesome entry! I really enjoyed the puzzles, the aesthetics and interface reminded me so much of tactical/rts that I love so much! Congrats o/
It's so cool please finish it I need more levels!
Very nice puzzle game concept really well executed ! Great Work
That was fun! I like the style, and the puzzles made me feel clever. I was expecting a strategy or sim game, but was pleasantly surprised by a puzzle game =). I once managed to place a tower and immediately be unable to destroy the tower (it overlapped an earlier village), which was weird, but after destroying the village in question, I was able to also destroy the tower, so it wasn't a game-breaker.
This feels awesome and clever. It doesn't have a strong tie to the theme, but it's a strong game. Nice job. It feels really fleshed out, too. I'd love to see what you'd do if you ran this further with more building types, terrains, etc. Great job!
this is great
Wow so great, amazing polish!
Very cool puzzle game that looks great and feels great to play.
Great game, really cool level, very enjoyable!
Art style is really nice and the game is very polished feeling. well done.
I really enjoy both the game and level design. The puzzles have a great difficulty curve and start requiring creative solutions. The interface is simple and the art style is charming. If this was fleshed out into a larger game I would want more levels to have multiple solutions and easter eggs/rewards for the most efficient solutions or most leftover resources.
The music was fantastic! I really enjoyed this little puzzle game as some of the levels made you stop and really think about how you were going to complete it. Other times what seems obvious was wrong and it was the hidden path you needed to find that would help you solve the puzzle.
The art and sound were very appealing and I'm sure this game would make a great mobile game. You could have add-on packs with more puzzles. Anyways, thank you both for making this great game!
This game is so polished and well designed, I'm amazed. Great puzzle experience with a strategy / builder feel. Loved the pixel art and music too, flawless! Have you made this in Godot?
This game has a really awesome polished look to it! Placing the towers felt really satisfying. It took me a while to realise that the towers collected the resources automatically. Amazing concept and overall really great!
Pretty interesting game, i had to think a little, but it passable. And graphics is good. So thanks for it!
@pijamar Yes it is made in Godot, with C#! Source code is available in the links above 😁
Very polished and super fun. The animation, music and pacing makes for an amazing game feel. But the theme really didn't fit in. It feels like if the idea came from before the jam almost. Still a great game and a 5/5.
Отличная головоломка - как я люблю! Очень необычная механика с расстановкой зданий, понравилось, что не обязательно уничтожать всех гоблинов - можно просто быстро добежать до конца через Zerg rush. Спасибо! ^_^
I expected strategy and got a puzzle game, but oh boy what a puzzle game it is! Its very satisfying to find out how to place what bulding in which order. great Game! :crossed_swords:
Very well rounded, fun game. It was impressive that you kept it fun without expanding the mechanics, so the levels felt varied with different challenges. I also felt smart from time to time, finding a solution that had a good amount of coins more available. I also appreciate the little details, with animations everywhere, even the UI. Well done!
Nice game, I love these builder-puzzle game mixes. The music fits so well and playing the buildings is ver satisfying.
Music is a catJAM, loved the art style and the clever puzzles really stand out as unique and refreshing. Very interesting mechanic using building placement as a resource, I can already imagine all the varieties of building you could make for this game. Super entertaining and mind bending, loved every second of it, wish I could play more levels. <3
What a wonderful puzzle game! Normally I'm not a big fan of puzzle games, but this one kept me hooked. I think the excellent game-feel had something to do with. Definitely one of my favorite games of LD48
There are a lot of things which I like about this entry. First of all the visuals and music create a fantastic atmosphere and mood; It looks and feels like a released game.
The gameplay itself is "simple", but in the best way possible. Puzzle games are not fun if the difficulty comes from overly complicated mechanics, anyone can make a game like that. What this games does so well is that it takes those simple to grasp concepts, and creates really challenging puzzles. That is incredibly hard to do and shows that you spent time on designing them.
You should consider creating a mobile game, it's that good!
Really enjoyed this concept and was left wanting to play more! The art and music work well together and it was overall really polished!
Really cool; fun to play, nice music, lovely graphics, and interesting gameplay. I loved the mix of puzzle and strategy. Well done!
Possibly my favorite entry so far. It is certainly the one I enjoyed playing the most! I love strategy games in general and this game tickles that itch in a clever way and also inspires new ideas where this kind of mechanic is the skeleton of the game. I hope you plan to expand this into a full game; if you do, let me know!
Well done on the polish and quality of life additions like options menu etc. Really appreciate it!
WHOA, what an incredible puzzle game! Simple mechanic but also quite deep. Art, music, perfect! Everything about this is so charming to me.
I love the combination puzzle/base building mechanic! you pull a lot of depth out of just having 3 building types too! The UI is clean, and the overall game theme is appealing. The music fits the calm atmosphere of the game great! This is one of those games where I can't come up with any clear points of improvement
Simple yet novel concept. Even though it's a puzzle game at heart, it still FEELS like a city builder of sorts and conveys that same sense of progress which makes it really impressive. All villages did was give you more resources, yet it felt good to nab a huge block of them as if you really were playing a strategy game. Nice sleight of hand there :)
I'm curious how you even came up with the idea. It's really easy to pick a theme like that and get drawn into common tropes. I always love how devs come up with the innovative ones. Awesome game, I played it to the end, was very hard to stop. Sometimes puzzle games can overstay their welcome but you kept throwing in interesting challenges using the same core mechanics.
Awesome game! Simple adorable concept and nice levels, which are not difficult, but inventive and absolutely addictive, makes me love this game.
Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for playtesting! If you'd like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006134882
Nice, I wasn't expecting to see a strategy puzzle game like this. I like that it keeps it simple as I'm often overwhelmed by strategy game rules.
I love how the game feels, it kinds of reminds me of the old fire emblem. The mechanics are super simple yet have some nice depth to it. The levels are just the right difficulty for a jam imo, and the length of the game is perfect as well.
The black emptyness on the sides is probably the best you could go for given the time available for the jam, as it's not bad at all. In a perfect world it still feels a bit empty.
I really enjoyed this and played it all the way through to the end. The sfx are great as is the game feel. The whole experience feels very polished from the menus to the scene transitions and the building destruction graphics. The premise is very simple (1 resource, 3 building types) but you manage to pull it together to create a very enjoyable and compelling game. This is a great example of taking a simple, easy to understand game mechanic and executing it beautifully. My favorite of all the games I've played thus far!
One of the best game mechanics I've seen in Ludum Dare 48. Although the game doesn't fit the theme so well, it is one of my favorites. I would be very happy, if you continue the work on this. To stay up to date, I follow you on itch ;-)
Hey! [I played your game on stream!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1023963888?t=01h44m26s) Thanks for providing a Linux build :)
I liked the idea of blending several different genres in a non-stressful way. I do enjoy _not_ being put on a clock, so it was definitely fun solving the puzzles. Snappy controls and nice art, too! The game feels very polished indeed.
If there is anything I could ask for, it would be more variety in the challenges. Nonetheless, quite a solid and enjoyable entry!
Also, thanks a lot for [godot-export](https://github.com/firebelley/godot-export) :)
Thank you for letting me play this on stream (forever ago)! [Here's that link](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1023715851?t=1h41m15s) in case you want to rewatch. The audio issue we ran into, though worse on stream than in my ears, does seem to be connected to my headphones when they're in their hands-free mode (which is the only way they function while OBS is running). It sounds fine through my computer speakers, though, and this is altogether a fun light puzzle game--that's also much more intuitive when I'm not nearing the end of an abnormally long day.
