Cool game
I really liked the art style and I think that the card game style of combat is really interesting! I think you should keep developing the game even further!
realy inovating ! i have encounter some bug with start fight when more one zombie was on me
I really enjoyed this game and love the concept of battling zombies using cards in a style similar to MTG. Also, I really liked the art style. You should definitely continue developing this game further. Well Done!
Amazing game. I felt like playing Forbidden Memories. And loved the table coming from the skies. At certain point, it felt right on my head 10/10 Soundtrack was great and the arrows helped me to find my way on the beggining. Great job!
Love the twist on zombie horror! Awesomely done. Normally I'm not the biggest fan of card games but this one was a pleasant change - thank you!
Few bugs aside, this felt like more than just a jam game and the card-based combat was easy to grasp :)
@otterfaelure Thanks for the feedback! Our entire team has been raving about your game its fantastic!
@otterfaelure This is high praise coming from the developer of the highly acclaimed ear worm game, the song is still playing in my head
This is a hilarious entry, and impressively complex and fully featured. I wish there was a bit more thought put into the card game. It seems like my hands are completely luck based, and it's often impossible to win. Is there no way to get better cards, or do I have to just hope my opponent doesn't draw an 8 when all I have are 1's and 2's?
@quinn-patrick Thanks for the feedback :D Yeah sadly its random, we wanted to to a more complex card mechanic but alas time ran out! Glad you liked it :)
@ThorPalsson, @anchry: Thank you both so much. The musician of the group will be so happy to hear people are enjoying it. =) I'll let him know. I hope your game gets similarly high praise over the next few days. :D
Very cool game! I liked it a lot. Very cool take on the theme!
It lacks a little bit of polish since it is so feature rich, but it is amazing for the timeframe!
Pretty cool game, but the actual battles where most of the time just putting down the 8-8 and killing them one at a time, going first in this game is OP. :D
Good job though, it looked good and had some nice sound design and you had a lot of stuff implemented!
I like your creativity. Externally, it can be modified, but the idea is great!
@meg4cyberc4t, Please don't externally modify our creativity D:! Thanks though for enjoying the game!
Fun game! Very interesting concept. I was doing super well and was about to complain it was too easy, then promptly got the business hand from a pro tour zombie.
I like the core mechanics and loop, but the RNG is brutal. Every box I opened was a zombie in a box.
Really enjoyed myself with this one great effort - liked everything about it, more polish and you might have the start of something here!
RNG can screw you over but it's an otherwise solid jam game!
Also, I managed to stack two tables on top of my head and I'm happy with myself. Just thought I'd let you all know
@roryh If you can do Three I'l give you an achivement :)
Thor, Matiz, Anchry, and team,
The concept of cards vs zombies was an innovative one. I enjoyed the idea. Graphics were kind of a mixed bag. It seemed a but inconsistent/no unity. I don't mind the troll graphics but if they are gonna be troll make it all like that to create harmony.
I found it hard to create a strategy around my cards because I was not fully sure of their capabilities. This made it a struggle for the game to be fun.
Overall, cool concept but I think it could be executed better.
Nice concept! I had fun) When game runs at a widescreen monitor sickness bar is out of a screen. Thx for the game!
Oh. I forgot to tell. I really enjoy the sound!)
Definitely innovative! I love the general humor as well.
Had a lot of fun playing this! I wish I had more control on the stealth mechanics (e.g. better timings or vision indicators).
Here is my attempt: https://youtu.be/fmkjy6iJULE
Nice game! I wish the card mechanic was more in depth.
a neat genre blend with a great personality. I got very attached to my cardmen and were sad to see them butchered. ambling through the wasteland was relaxing, didnt stand a chance sneaking around the zombies though
A zombie producing a table out of thin air and sitting at it all smug looking cracked me up.
Was so confused when the table dropped but of COURSE I need to face off against zombies in a bespoke card game to ensure my survival. Super wacky, fun entry. Nice work :)
I enjoyed the format of the game, and the jokes too :)
I did find the battles to be fairly stale.
The game was well rpogrammed and the format was excellent. Well done
I really love the way this game looks, but the battles seemed to play out the same way every round.
This is a very cool game for LudumDare, you need to develop it further.
Really great concept. My favorite part of this is how you handled the theme. Many people (including myself) decided "you're going to die, delay it" was a good way to interpret "Delay the Inevitable". You took it a step further with giving the player a positive purpose and specific goal to accomplish *before* the inevitable zombification occurred. Excellent!
I was completely taken by surprise by the card game battle, and it was a good surprise. The card game fight was strategic and fun.
Good concept! The gameplay was solid and entertaining. The game is quite humorous and got a few chuckles out of me (I immediately scarified the guy who plays in Among Us public lobbies). The card game mechanic was not something I expected, but it was a pleasant surprise since it gives the game a unique gameplay loop. The only problem I had with it was that it was hard to initially tell how many cards to put out on the playing board-once there were two zombies, and they killed the only person I had on the board, it was game over. The graphics and sound design are functional, though they could be refined (I particularly feel like the generic font could use replacing).
Overall, really nice job! I'd like to see this game refined further in a postjam version, as I feel like this game (which is already very enjoyable, mind you) could benefit greatly from further love and attention.
Cool Card Game and nice and easy to learn! I liked the nice jokes. Sometimes I got group attacked by zombies which was a little bit frustrating. You have really nice graphics but I think you could reduce the package size, it is pretty big for a unity game. Maybe try to downscale the textures?
@erikengineengineer Yeah in our haste to push the game before the deadline we didn't do any optimization for the size of the game. The game uses quite a bit of custom shaders and some quickly made textures making the size a bit bloated. But thanks for the feedback and for playing our game.
Probably the funniest game I've played so far, all the little descriptions of the horrifically pixelated people got many laughs out of me.
Gameplay wise I think it could've done with a bit more depth and less RNG? Once I lost a couple cards with no way to get them back I found it was very easy to keep losing, and on my best run I started with a guy with 8 attack, cleared through the game and then got zombified because I only was able to find 2 extra syringes through the whole game.
Overall, it's a good game, very funny, just needs a bit more polish and it'd be great
Interesting idea with some nice visuals.
It wasn't really clear to me how the game benefited from having cards instead of just little people fighting or some other combat system. I also didn't really find much depth in the combat; it was simply a matter of always attacking with my most powerful character.
In the end I lost simply because there was no medicine and now way to get enough to continue, which made it feel like the actions I took didn't matter.
Fun card fighter game! I enjoyed the visuals and the music and managed to get a table to land on a Zombie's head once. It would be interesting to expand this to be able to find new cards in the boxes, or balance the battles some so that I can't just beat nearly everything with "The Raver" card. All in all really fun!
I thought it was a very fun game and different from most zombies, the idea of playing a card game is very good. Anyway, I think it needs a little more work and polish, maybe there could be the option to skip the fight if you want and go through the stage faster. The art is quite good, without a doubt much better things could be done and with a better finish, although it may have been a design decision and that is respected. Great job! xD
I was not expecting playing cards against zombies, not at all!
Had a good laugh at it, there are a lot of good ideas that can really be something in a future. Keep up the good work guys! :v:
Haha! Steals individual fruits from the grocery store - Lubbock. Didn't know what to expect when I saw a table falling from the sky  This Lubbock guy is op. Nice game guys, keep it up!
You have a solid base to improve upon, in my humble opinion!
Using card game mechanics in a survival apocalipse was unexpected but really fun heh
Unfortunately I succumbed to the illness, but still managed to beat myself!
Good job!
Had fun with this. Got a long way with one survivor doing all the work. Interesting because he had surprisingly few hands.
I wonder who was dropping the tables...
@baubau Yeah, we tried to remove him from the game but he kept showing up again... Raving about his lordship in Scotland.
for the most part i didnt know what was going on but i somehow managed to beat some zombies and all of a sudden i was getting the hang of it and having fun! nicely done, you went out huge on the graphics which i appreciate and some music and mechanics wouldve been a nightmare, awesome work!
I really liked the combat being a card game, that was a pretty cool idea and the humor was great :D
PS: There's a minor bug, if you press the "Keep Going" button and immediately after you press the "Take Medicine" button, the medicine won't work.
Interesting submission. Though I see potential, it needs quite a lot of polish.
Somehow idea that you are using cards to battle zombies on the table that fall near your made me laugh. I also liked your take on looting and pointing out obvious stuff, that most people tend to miss anyways
Now the critical parts: * While it's cool to have a separate map for each location, but the movement there feels rather sluggish. Zombies almost move faster then the player, so avoiding them isn't really an option. * In the location maps or before it, I expect to do some meaningful decisions, rather than just check all piles and get into unavoidable fights. Since we have card battles, maybe we could have an altar where we can upgrade one of the cards? Or campfire to heal cards back to their original health. Maybe merge some cards to make them stronger? * In the overmap it would make sense to have some management decisions. For example to the location, you can take only 4 cards. The cards not taken into the map location might heal some life back. * The card battle: * It would be nice to warn players in advance, that they have to attack with all of their cards, once chosen to attack. * You need to tell players, that our card health is not considered when you are doing the attack. * I expect there should some card effects and combos. * Current card battle status is just `be first => pray you can 1HKO the card enemy plays => attack card, repeat`. If you cannot 1HKO means you almost always will lose card on your side as well. * In general needs rethinking and redesign, to include more systems, resources. At the moment it is very close to autobattler.
@roryh Yeah, managed the same, sharing for all, and at the same time it's a challenge, `can you stack 4 tables on your head?`

@bloodycoin thank you very much for your feedback. A lot of good suggestions here we appreciate it!
