Really cool game! Will be awesome to add some unordinory story like in Inscryption.

@maks-night-dlc thank you very much :D

There was _a lot_ more content planned that unfortunately I just didn't get around to. I might port this game to Godot soon so I can properly work on some of the things I wanted to implement for a post jam update but we will see.

I had a lot of fun with this! Super simple game, but honestly executed super well!

Super polished, and while there's not a whole lot of replay value or challenge to it, it doesn't fall into the pitfall that I constantly see turn-based jam games falling into of being *waaaay* too complicated to get into.

I really enjoyed it! High ratings all around from me!

This was a treat to listen to, I loved the voice expressions made with pitch bending. Looks great as well, particularly the animations, and the story is amusing and well written. I just wished the gameplay had more depth, I seemed to always win by just selecting the highest attack and defense card every time. Still it was fun :)

It's impressive how well designed and polished is this game! Loved the start conversation a lot, also the sounds. I'm not discovering anything if I say that there are a lot of card games out there, which may cause the innovation score to reduce. In any case, this is a top 4 - 5 star game for me!

Very impressive game! I love the visual style and the soundtrack was amazing. The way the lemon speaks was a nice touch, too. As much as I loved the gameplay, I did find it a bit simplistic: like Vasco said above, it seems the best strategy is to just always pick the biggest card. Have you thought about making single cards that have both attack and defense values, like Yu-Gi-Oh? That might make things a bit more interesting, where you have to choose whether attacking or defending is more important. Either way, I'm interested in seeing more of that cut content you were alluding to!

The game is so completed. The gradually added gameplay as tutorial is amazing, and even better is the ost, specially when in round three, comes that 13 damage card, and plus that soundtrack, the rock paper scissor game goes really wild!

Update: I just got the lemon demon joke seconds ago seen a meme, lmao

Really nice game! I loved the opening cutscene with the Celeste-style voice. The art and sound were super polished as well. The gameplay was a bit simplistic as others have said - I tried multiple strategies, but it mostly seemd to boil down to luck (I used the exact same strategy for the final battle twice, once I lost miserably, the other time I won with little problem). Having to restart from the very beginning each time felt a bit too punishing as well. Other than that, great entry!

Very fun if short game. The art was very cute, and I liked somewhat feeling like I was using strategy against the lemon even if ultimately he may not have actually been playing the way I thought he was and I just got lucky. Either way, fun foundation here.

Playing this game was a bit difficult for me (I couldn't read English, so I wasn't sure how to play it), but I liked the lemons and the sound effects, so I rated the graphics and the sound effects :D

rakowu 2024-04-18 12:25

Can't I just summon Leemon? I liked that one xD Find it cool that you just conjured a pack of cards in a compo. It would be nice if you could still have a strategy by counting cards etc. That way I only ever had to choose the highest cards. But I think it's a great implementation and in such a short time. Which engine did you use to write it?

flatgub 2024-04-19 12:58

Really impressive polish and vibes for a game made for the compo! I agree with some other people's sentiment here that ultimately it felt like the strategy was just picking the highest card of each type. In the third round it did feel like I might be able to benefit from card counting to save my atk/def cards until I saw the lemon had played its highest cards in the other category, but I wasn't really ready to commit to counting a deck like that. Given that the cards are broken into four suits I think this really would've benefited from having the suits have different effects, so there was more than just highest number but still, well done!

Really cool to see a card game here! It looks and feels very smooth and polished, the great music and sound effects help a lot with this too. The game itself is quite simple but that also means you pick it up almost immediatly. Unfortunately,I often found myself only having one offensive card, not leaving me a lot of choice for some turns. But I could easily see this getting built upon!

Good Job! Love the Lemon character! This concept kinda reminds me of learning how to code when you make one little mistake that you have to spend hours undoing lol! It's like "summoning" more work! Really fun and I love the music!

ziggy 2024-04-22 06:44

A bit simple, but still impressive for a compo, would've been great if it required more strategy. Also great music and great lemon talking sfx ^^

iolis-lui 2024-04-22 18:11

I thought it was a yolk. but in the form of a lemon, he is still very nice)) Pleasant.

ninjacatz 2024-04-26 14:45

aga.png Lemon needs to learn how to bluff. I like chill music, and I understood how to play almost on the fly. Nice work!

pkenney 2024-04-30 02:52

Really cool outer surface to this game - the music is great, the art is fantastic, and the intro was really well done. The play of the game handled well, too, but the mechanical core of the card-game rules was missing something... it felt like I didn't have much to drive any specific decision around which card to play. Maybe even something as simple as borrowing from Slay by showing what hand lemon would play next would let me feel like I can hoard high cards for the tough moments, although obviously you'd have to make lemon stronger to counter-balance that.

Really cool and well put together, a strong entry. But had that potential to be a REAL banger with just a bit more meat on the card game piece. Nice work.
