Is the cat gonna be alright? hahaha I like the music, though it took me some time to realise this was some sort of rhythm game. I like it

Ahaha it looks so fun on the video !!! Too bad there is only a windows port so I can't play it but from the video it really looks like a nice game, great job ! I also liked the Discord notification sound at 2:11 ahaha

mika314 2021-04-26 17:38

@fdk Discord notification? Oops...

panzershrek 2021-04-26 17:39

Music is catchy and game is kinda fun !

pretty cute and fun game! because there isn't a visible judging zone, it wasn't immediately obvious if I had to actually time the button, or just be in that 'column' before the note passes, but it wasn't too hard to figure out eventually. pretty hilarious watching the player ragdoll back and forth, and it was oddly hypnotic to watch the rats and all. nice!

Great entry @mika314! The meat of the game starts at hard difficulty where you have to move quickly in all 3 directions. The game also unintentionally has this "drug-like" effect when you look at something for some time, and then look away and the brain still thinks you're moving down :P. Thing i would add is a little particle/sound beat after sucessful landing on a mouse (something that adds to the sound of the music), and maybe some slight coloration of the mice or beam of light showing each column... Also, poor cat :d

What an awesome little rhythm game! Loved the catchy music, easy difficulty was a bit underwhelming so I went to hard mode and really loved it! The only issue I saw was that on an ultrawide screen the beat tends to fall really really close to the top of the screen, making it a bit challenging to see what's going on. Otherwise this is an awesome little gem!

Fun game. Poor cat. must be sore after all that flinging around. Needs an extremely hard mode :)

hopelesscate 2021-04-27 04:18

That was fun to play 😂

P.S. poor kitty

maximegammaitoni 2021-04-27 13:45

Haha my cat don't like this game ! 1147 score into hard mode(to easy for a Beat saber player like me lolz), Excellent ambiance gg team !

silkworm-sweatshop 2021-04-27 15:20

Pretty fun, a lot thanks to the really nice music tracks! Might be a bit too forgiving as there is almost no punishment for being off beat and you can kinda flail around a lot.

An unusual idea, the cutest game of those that have played so far)) Good combination of music and gameplay)

chris-delta 2021-04-27 19:35

The graphics are endearingly jank and I love them.

Two small criticisms of the gameplay: First there isn't enough variety in your tracks to be fun, they dwell too much on very easy patterns, even in the Hard difficulty. Second: the parallax difference between the front and back columns of rats can make some parts hard to read, although that's more of a statement than a criticism, it might be what you were going for.

The music is great too, far above my expectations for a Compo game, I was actually pretty unimpressed until I realized the music was part of your 48 hours, mad respect.

michael-harris 2021-04-27 21:07

I had a lot of fun with this. I love that it's a rhythm game I'm sure those are hard to pull off. I loved how its just a ragdoll cat slamming himself into mice. The music was great also. Really good job with this one.

If there was one piece of criticism to give it would be that the music didn't always perfectly sync up. But the game was forgiving enough that it didn't matter much. Awesome work!

Бедный котик, как же его мотает по жизни! Немного сюрреалистичная игра, но веселая! ^_^

vasco-freitas 2021-04-28 20:50

It's a funny and original idea to throw the cat around to hit the mice and beats. Music was great. It would have been nice to have different rhythm patterns instead of focusing on the same constant beat. Also it felt a bit imprecise, which is contrary to the nature of most rhythm games, but on the other hand it's less stressful this way.

corentin-sabiaux 2021-04-28 21:02

Funny and awesome way to use Unreal Engine :p See our cat bouncing everywhere is so amazing thanks to the ragdoll ahah It would be fantastic if the mouses can be punch and freely bounce with us too :p Great job for a first and compo entry !

thatmanrobin 2021-04-28 23:18

After playing it long enough, it starts to feel like you're floating in some sort of antigravity and the world is moving up at you haha. Good game! Enjoyed it, although felt bad for the cat as physics were not nice to him haha.

mahalis 2021-05-01 15:34

This is absolutely delightful. Love the music—especially the first track—and the weird physics on the cat are incredibly charming. I’m not much good at rhythm games, so I didn’t mind the imprecision. I agree about the confusing parallax though—in the hard mode it was tough to see where the quicker vs. slower note transitions were. Still, this is one of my favorite games I’ve played in this LD. Terrific work.
