Really cool game. Would have liked ability to rotate like the enemies, and a general indication of where to go. Cool combat system, kind of like jousting. It was very fun to arrive at rooms where wasps had already battled and died.

I enjoyed exploring the hive world. I defeated the queen and am now ruling ruthlessly over 30 wasps. (I hate wasps and will try to take down their society from the inside.)

Simple and fun game! Took me about 20 attempts but managed to finish it. Loved how simple yet engaging the fighting mechanics is. Cool job!

The simple battle mechanic was different and fun and I enjoyed exploring the maze to find the queen bee. I didn't understand though what is the meaning of the purple bar?

Great game, I enjoyed trying to beat it while killing as few bees as possible, I won a few times and this was my high score: Untitled drawing (2).png

Pretty fun game and pretty unique

Enjoyed! Fun combat and a nice little bit of sound design kept my attention. Unfortunately had a tendency to become stuck on an early piece of geometery off to the left of the start. Overall, good art, fun bits of level design that put the combination of fiddly physical combat and stealth to good use.

Great game! Good balance between stealth and combat, where you did a good job of guiding the player to a mix of both. Art and sounds were well done as well! Super impressive as a Compo game too

Interesting and unique concept. I like the artstyle! Gj

Very unusual and unique combat, really enjoyed playing.

Took a few goes to get the no-kill concept, but it does make you more selective of certain routes, etc. Best run was 37 bees remaining! The sting angle was a bit odd, and making other bees sting each other cracked me up. Nice little game, congrats!

Cool game, there's a nice level of challenge in making sure you string rather than get stinged.

Adding an incentive to not kill to many on your way to the queen is a nice touch too!

rawbits 2021-05-01 09:21

Not much in it, but what is there is good. And I think I have not killed bees in a game before as a main objective. Good job!

linky439 2021-05-01 19:34

Interesting idea! I must say see other bees killing themselves was unexpected ^^ Overall, a simple gameplay that works well. I finished with 30 bees remaining!

Being able to rotate would have probably helped a bit, but the game is done well enough for this not to be an issue. Congrats!

I'm queen now! Game not so hard but pretty interesting. I like that wasps can kill themselves and I may manipulate their minds and bring chaos in queen's guard (evil_emoji).

cheesepencil 2021-05-02 00:13

Great entry for a compo game, I can tell you wanted to do more but there just wasn't enough time! Cool visuals and an original concept. I hope you get high scores for innovation!

boxedmeatrevolution 2021-05-02 00:30

The way that you sting the bees was weird at first, but I really like it. It was pretty difficult to keep the bees alive though because they kept stinging each other. Couldn't do better than 33.

levidsmith 2021-05-02 00:49

Nice game. I managed to kill the queen and become the ruler to 28 other bees. I liked the layout of the maze and buzzing sound effects.

blackopsben 2021-05-05 00:48

I like that it seems inspired by Joust, but it seems the enemies play by different rules than the player. It would be interesting to play this game where there is 1 character controller than both the player and the AI interface with so they are using the same mechanics, ie, rotate or not rotate, etc.

fueelin 2021-05-05 21:56

I liked the idea and the art a lot! Didn't end up beating it, sort of thought I was missing something with how to play. I wasn't able to keep the disguise going for very long. Seems like other folks have had better luck, so the issue might be with me :)

Lots of stuff to like about this though, good job!

meep 2021-05-06 03:28

Fun short game. :) I liked the mechanic where you just gotta touch them with the stinger- it kinda felt like a minimalistic fighting game having to line up hitboxes this way. I loved how the enemies just spiralled themselves at you- I wonder how it would feel, and whether it would add more strategy, if you allowed the player to also rotate like that :P

bluishgreenpro 2021-05-06 15:24

I like the idea of approaching the game with an emphasis on stealth to have dominion over the most bees at the end, however I felt like the pheromones wore off too quickly to be of much use.

felo07 2021-05-07 00:11

Cute graphics, I missed the music, but the sound effect are great. Also sometimes I died unfairly. Maybe to add a tutorial to explain better.

100th-coin 2021-05-15 19:33

This was really cool! I love the hex-tiles, and the design of the hive is great! All the space inside the walls are very well decorated. It took a few tries to figure out what to do, though I get it now. Your stinger kills other bees, their stingers kill you. duh. Great job!
