I get a 404 error on the itch.io link, so I couldn't play

pukami 2018-12-03 04:09

I got the same error as the comment above. The screenshots already make me really interested to try it out though.

fussenkuh 2018-12-03 04:13

Time to beat the dead horse. One more "link isn't working" comment :(

andrew-garcia 2018-12-03 04:14

Sorry bout that guys! I had the page in draft mode still! (I don't know how itch.io works lol) It's up to play!

scarfdev 2018-12-03 04:25

The graphics and the music are very pleasant, though some of the modules are a bit hard to read (though I guess that's the point) The concept is really really cool, but I just wish you could have chosen which pages to burn and when, so that on repeat plays you could keep the modules you have trouble with. Would have made the sacrifice more personal and tough. A sound effect of some sort when you fail or succeed would have helped too. The mood is very nice, just wish it was a bit more open.

codekim 2018-12-03 04:26

Were this to cost, say 2.50 Euro I would buy it. Straight up. Only things I found odd were that there's no confirmation of when a module is done (guessing that would screw up some of them), as well as the blank ending. Otherwise a brilliant little game!

sarwin 2018-12-03 04:28

It is a really great game and the concept of scarifying your games to stay alive is really good.

swanijam 2018-12-03 04:48

aside from not having confirmation when a module is done, this is REALLY well done. The cleverest use of the theme I've seen so far. 10/10

justalocalhero 2018-12-03 05:09

Looks gorgeous. Fun to play. The font could be a bit tough to read and the cutscenes were a bit slow.

wdelvi 2018-12-03 06:24

Couldn't figure out how to get through the menu. But the music is gorgeous and the snow affects are red!

imer 2018-12-03 06:29

Damn, this is really well done. Art, sound, the mood - brilliant

s4m4di 2018-12-03 07:14

Loved Everything! I'm still wondering How on earth could you do it in 48 hours

sanyingli 2018-12-03 08:07

Hi,there. May I ask how should I play? After hitting same times plus button the number display, nothing happened to me. The art and sounds are very cool, really like to know how to play through this.

pez 2018-12-03 08:11

This is just excellent

william-derksen 2018-12-03 08:26

I wasn't able to get past the tutorial? I clicked the right number of times and nothing happened? What did I do incorrectly?

eroxxie 2018-12-03 08:28

Nice game!

andrew-garcia 2018-12-03 08:58

So sorry @pez and @william-derksen! Totally my fault, turns out I broke it... I reuploaded the game back to the fixed state! Try it now! If you have any other gamebreaking issues make sure to comment!

binarylynx 2018-12-03 09:31

What a great game! Good job!

connorthompson 2018-12-03 10:29

What a great idea. Really love seeing the theme being worked into this idea. Great job on this and nice execution too!

wongkongphooey 2018-12-03 10:42

It's a great take on the theme and theres so much logic and complexity packed in considering its a jam game! Well done! It plays really well.

ravarion 2018-12-03 13:30

The RNG and the slow pace made me wait for longer than I'd have liked. Really great concept, and I loved the mood.

f4kethis 2018-12-03 14:24

This is great. It's like a version of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes where the manual has to be destroyed to keep playing.

I love the art and music. They work together well, set a very clear mood, and with the snow outside where I live, it feels right.

vasco-freitas 2018-12-03 16:47

Smart idea for the theme, and a great puzzle game. Unfortunately in the "level" where the numpad appears for the first time, when I used it the game returned to the main menu and I wasn't even able to restart.

dougdevs 2018-12-03 19:59

Wow. Blown away by the environment and feel of the game as it relates to the theme. Music and pixel art are spot-on, providing you with a sense of desolate coldness. Well done!

xesenix 2018-12-04 01:45

Nice theme interpretation the general mood is great. I have some issues with instructions readability you could use some more readable font. Also after defeat it needs page reload to restart. Also that pattern display doesn't seem to show any of the described patterns.

hukee 2018-12-04 11:32

Nice game, but the font looks a little awful, and after the defeat only can renew the webpage to replay.

saoi-games 2018-12-05 08:42

Your game was played on my stream ( twitch.tv/ursagames ) for the second day of Ludum Dare streams - you can find the timestamp of your game here: https://goo.gl/N2rkr8

Wow, this game was quite different. The difficulty scale was well balanced for a game made in 48 hours. Although the manual was a bit difficult to read and understand but I guess that's the point.

The idea is perfect for a game jam but after playing a few playthroughs I'm sure the manual would be useless unless you had implemented some random variation to the rules such as the patterns or number of consecutive flashes.

It was an enjoyable experience because I really had to focus to be able to memorize the instructions, this was enhanced by the beautiful music and quite simple but cool looking pixel art.

Great job on this game
