Really original game! I went to the final but it was too hard for me at least to beat the king haha. Maybe the flow of the game could be a bit better if after failing the comment voice could be skipped.
Well Done overall!!:)

TODO: review game
Absolutely my favorite take on the theme so far and the only game that has got me laughing out loud. Love the concept, love the announcer, love the spacebar slamming.
I am terrible at it, can't get past the quarterfinals.
Really great work! An addicting gameplay loop, that is only interrupted by the cutscene. The cutscene is great though, nice voiceover! I love the interpretation of the theme
This was wonderfull. The wonderfully silly idea plus the goofy voice and model work make this a really memorable entry. I only wish I could get back into the game more quickly when I fall over. Maybe hitting the spacebar could skip the intro for the round? Idk. But overall, really well done.
Great game! The only gripe I have is the no skip intro button after losing. I loved the voicing and "The Limbo King has Failed us!" made me lol
Very goofy, very awesome idea. Well executed, one of my favorites for sure.
Can you build a Mac version ?
@dhim Sadly no. And I can't make a web version.
Great job, I really felt like a limbo king.
Yes yes yes yes, the limbo king did it ! \o/ Funny game, and very deep of course xD
Really nice take on the theme, I love the idea. I like the sounds and the voiceover, the commentator is just the right amount of goofy.
It was a bit hard for me to know when I'm low enough - I've banged my head several times because I couldn't tell where exactly I am.
Also, my hand hurts a bit from mashing space . Maybe it could have a slightly bigger effect?
Nice game overall!
The LIIIIMMMMBO KIIIIIIIG :crown: It was a bit of a challenge to find out if I was low enough or not with the camera angle. My space bar is now pretty hurt but the victory was reached. :v: Great game, congratulations!
Great game. I really had fun playing it :D
Really fun take on the theme! The last level was very frustrating and I unfortunately could not beat it. It seems like the effect of the spacebar needs to increased just a tiny bit and the player given just a bit more stamina. Otherwise, very funny game, the commentary is great!
Also as a note, this game automatically opens SteamVR for some reason. Might be a quirk with Unreal Engine setting something as default for VR.
I like the voice acting! Fun game
Could not really finish the game, it was too hard for me. Nice voiceover!
@delicioussalad I don't know why it opened SteamVR, it set not to use VR, but maybe there is a plugin in UE that uses SteamVR.
I know that the last level is a bit difficult (and perhaps a bit too difficult), but I also knows there is often people that wants more difficulty in my game. So I chose to give the last level a bit more difficulty then even I would have liked.
5s across the board! No notes.
I can go so low and didn't even know!! I really had fun with this one, really fun and different. Congrats
Derpy and funny, well done in such a short amount of time. Only thing I would say is that the intro is a bit long. After I fail a race, I'd like to start again more quickly.
@kadams if you had downloaded "the skip dialog" version of the game, you could have skipped the intro dialog by pressing the Enter Key.
Lol @ the voice acting. Fun game with humour. Nice idea. Good job.
This is definitely the funniest one I've played so far. That last level was extremely frustrating, but so satisfying when I finally beat it. Now I need to rest my hand, but I guess it's dinner time so that works out.
Very funny and original game, the voice acting made me laugh
LIMBO KING! NOOOOOO!
HAHAHA, amazing little game here, had me cracking up! Could see this being converted into one of those weird full body arcade games only found at a Sega arcade center in Tokyo, with lines wrapped around the building.
Nice original concept, loved the voice acting. Thanks for including a version without the start dialogue :)
Haha, what a silly game. Loved it! Voice acting was on point. Great job!
Knew i would love it from the screenshots. Did not dissapoint. I got some framerate dips on my computer and i think that impacts the ability to spam spacebar (not all button presses registered), so i wasnt able to win the finale.
Very deep game, really made me think.
A very interesting concept. It was a bit hard although I'm not complaining and I would be lying if I said it wasn't fun. The voice acting was pretty funny. I did not experience any technical issues like frame rate dips and such. Good job.
Full marks for humour, thanks for the lolz! Can't get enough of that silly limbo walk. Unfortunately like many others I was not skillful enough to be worthy of the name "limbo king", so I did not get to experience what would probably be another lol of an ending :) thanks
Awesome! The best entry I played so far. Congrats!
Awesome game! I do wish that I could change the keybind for the limbo though, it would be nice to be able to click my mouse button instead of the space bar. But great art and animations, and the voice acting was great too. Overall really good job!
Great game. The final was really hard but I won it after many tries.
I immediately started laughing when I saw your game. LIMBO! Congrats!
Interesting game! Get lots of fun from it.
Fun game with a unique take on the theme. Great job!
Really original and reaaally addicting. I almost broke my spacebar :D. Really good graphics and lighting. I also found the narrative really funny. Well done!
Really original idea for the theme! I like how you have to balance the timing of when to start pressing space, put not press too much to avoid slowing down or falling. Quite challenging. I wish it were a bit easier to see if I was low enough to pass, but I get that in 3D that's not easy. The commentary was fun and makes the game much more engaging. Well done!
This was an interesting game. I liked both the idea and execution of the game, though I’m very bad at it. Also loved the intro.
Good game.
I'm pretty bad at it, but as a whole it's a very cohesive experience between the audio/visuals and the gameplay. Looks super polished, and definitely stands out in a sea (hehe) of games in caves and water.
I loved this! The humor was really good, and the whole atmosphere very fitting. I loved the stadium cheering and the voice over. The game was a little too difficult to play and I couldn't get past the semifinals. It's hard to gauge how tall the obstacle is.
Interesting concept) I thought I could handle it easily, but the game turned out to be trickier and it took me several tries to win) Great job!
This little game is really cool! I found it very funny (even if I had to explode my space bar). good job
Sadly, I am not a limbo king :slight_frown: Tried that last level so many times, and when I finally got to the finish line, died on the last plank :japanese_goblin:
Nonetheless, fun game and interesting theme interpretation! The background music made me feel like I'm fighting in a gladiator arena  And commentator voice lines are pretty funny, help to ease the pain of falling over and over again
It was fun )
This game get me angry.
really funny game here ! Good job on doing that by yourself in 48h !
two things tho, a way to skip the intro when you restart the race, and a way to tell how low you are compared to the bar.
Except for that, I could play and challenge my friend for fun, for sure !
@noluck If you play the "skip the dialog" version, you can skip the intro dialog by clicking on the Enter key.I thought about making a making on Balance Meter to show how low you should go, but don't like the idea you just looking down on Balance Meter. In a way I like the idea that you have to learn to see how you low you have to go.
@jk5000 yeah I saw the "skip the dialog" version, but I wanted to try the full experience and then was lazy to download another .zip file...
I agree with you, a marking on the balance meter is cheap and distracting, but maybe a "ghost bar" around the character's head, or a "ghost head" on the bar, or some sort of "leveling lines" that shows how low you are.
Anyway, really good job on that game, really well achieved for a 48h compo !
Sorry man, I calmed down now. But the mechanic you have created is a bit offensive. Player should start over each time he didn't have time to press the space just one more time (and this may happen even when the player was going to pass the last bar). And on top of it your game calls player "Looooser", to make him even more angry. Think about it.
@xpycm it's totally okay. I do understand your anger and frustration, it's is a part of the game idea. And I know not all people will like this kind of game, and what it makes them feel. But as a game developer i would prefer the player to get angry, then they are feeling nothing. For me are calling the player "looooser" is a part of the games humour, I do understand not all people like or share that kind of humour, and that it's totally okay. If you don't like the game it's naturally okay.
Amazingly solid work for a Compo! I do have to agree with @xpycm though to some extent. While I didn't feel offended per se, it's generally not a good idea to slight your audience. Other than that though, I had a lot of fun playing through! Great work!
READY. SET! Hahaha I played this for too long. This was such a fun discovery. I could not finish the final damn Limbo King !!! Very humoristic but also amazing dev skill, all these transitions and 3D animations and AI ! :)
The graphics are well done, and the game in general is funny, especially because of the voice acting haha
The core mechanic is fun, but the lack of an indication of how long I needed to go with the balance meter left me a bit frustrated.
Other than that, it's a nice entry!
@trexxak I am happy you had fun playing the game.
Making something that some people gets offended by is for me not a issue. In reality it's really difficult to make something that no one can and will get offended by. And if you do, it will properly be very boring. When people play this game I of course want them to smile, perhaps even laugh, but frustration and some anger is also an important part of the game. And for me it's better that it makes people feel something (also anger) then they are feeling noting.
Really funny game and I still wonder why this is not a real Olympic discipline
Cool idea and it's well made! I love how you made the cutscenes :D My only problem is that I can't figure out how low should I go...soo I always leaned as low as possible :P
Game idea is pretty interesting. The dialogs are funny, the game is fun.
Under the pole, UNDER THE POLE! That was hilarious voice acting! The game is quite hard. It was hard to figure out when I went low enough to go under the bar, and I felt like I could hardly press space fast enough. I managed to get past the quarter finals, but couldn't finish the semifinals.
Also, I found it quite funny that it says JK5000 everywhere. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Very well done compo game!
Game made me shout, but I don't know if it was of fun or of frustration. I did my best to beat the game but it was too hard for me. Nice work though
I think this game is the most cheeful I have every player in this gam! I love your idea so much, and commentary is also interesting. I think you can publish your game on moblie phone platform.
Love the take on the theme. I also like that it's a one button game. I didn't play the dialog skip version but after a while I wish I had.
Really entertaining. I enjoyed the commentary I would just add an option to be able to skip it. Good submission
One button games are fast becoming my favorite genre - thanks for adding another fun one to the list!
Oh, my poor, poor hands  I am so bad at this game! It took me an embarrassing amount of tries to get to the finals, so I was very glad to have the "skip dialogue" feature. Finals defeated me.
But, my ineptness aside, it is a truly impressive work for a compo! The graphics are simple but clean and the voice-over is great. When I first heard "King, nooooooo" I literally laughed out loud.
I'm getting nightmare memories of QWOP from this...Great idea, very well executed, brilliant work (I'm a little ashamed about how long I spent trying the final over and over before rage quitting)
This game was soooo hard! Cool twist on the theme. Favorite part was your voice lol!
One of the more unique game ideas. Very funny audio. The game is rather difficult since it's hard to see how low the racer is from the player view point. It felt more like a game of trial and error than skill. With a bit more work, this is something that could be a fun party mini-game.
Pretty genius all around. Wouldn't mind a controls-reminder in-game as I definitely press-and-held the first couple tries. But love the theme, voice overs, balance of the gameplay. I do think a camera that was a little more behind the player might have been more helpful, but still awesome awesome job.
Best Audio of Ludum Dare 48. Easily.
I think my favorite part of this game is the control scheme. Mashing the spacebar is an intrinsically rather awkward and volatile control scheme, and although I do not know how professional limboers feel about limboing, I would say that "awkward and volatile" certainly would describe any attempt I made at limbo in the real world.
This control scheme also makes the gameplay pretty interesting despite how straightforward the concept is. In order to win I need to mash the spacebar fast enough, and start mashing at the right time. It's pretty neat.
Unfortunately I'm not sure I can beat the last level. But I had fun beating the other two.
This is great!
Great graphics, cool naration, simple gameplay.
I expected bigger speed difference between walking and limboing.
And thank you for playing my game :)
OH MY GOSH, THE VOICE ACTING LOL. Besides the obvious silliness there is a lot to love about this game -- a simple mechanic that's difficult to master, very clear and appealing design, and really energizing audio. I suppose the angle of the camera can make this a little harder than it should be, but I mean, what a solid game. Thanks for the laughs.
Me and my group of friends had limbo as a big word written on our Whiteboard of Ideas. Sadly, nobody picked it up to be made into a game.
But coming across your game, i was immediatly thinking back at the jokes we had and it turned out brilliant! Hard game, but so well done!

Thank you for playing, rating and most of all thank you for your feedback. I hope I did not got any of you in any kind of limbo. Oh, I believe I might have done that, and for that I am sorry. But anyway, thank you all for a great LD, and I hope to see you all in future LDs.
