My first game in Godot, inspired by the second level of Battletoads
Am I missing something? I can't seem to find the actual .exe to run the game?
Nice game, but improve graphics.
Hey, I would advise you to add "https://github.com/ghangster/Robo-Delve-LD48/releases/download/compo/RoboDelve-LD48.7z" for the link, people might not find it on the github page.
Other than that, I scored 340! My robot got stuck and then was out of the screen so I couldn't do much for a while, after holding "S" for a few seconds, the robot sort of popped back. I think you should handle this, maybe with a game over or something :D
Prety good game, i would suggest that the player starts over when he touches a red coin. The movement was pretty slow as well, or at least I thought so.
The concept is pretty solid but I think the physics need to be more responsive to make it fun. I often got caught on flat surfaces and felt like I should have more momentum. I think increasing the mass of the robot, the force of the player's input and the elasticity of the rope would go a long way!
Agree that it's a little confusing finding that .7z archive, maybe add a direct link to it? You can add a separate link to source code in your game post. The concept is nice, I'd say the graphics needs some work and it would be cool if the rope would bend over obstacles (instead of going straight through them) like in e.g. the Worms game. Anyways, good job!
The Windows executable is on the github releases page, I've added it as a zip file and added a direct link to it.
Unfortunately, the window of the game starts in above and to the left of the top left corner of my monitor, I can only see the bottom right corner of the window, making it impossible to properly play the game.
Nice, I love me some Battletoads :D Like others have said, I think the main thing to improve is that the robot takes too much time to react, it feels too heavy. Other than that, it's a great idea that with a few improvements could be very fun. Congrats!
Cool concept and game, could be really good with a bit of polish ! Good job
As others have said, this is a good idea but the slow movement makes it feel pretty tedious compared to the Battletoads level that inspired it. It would also be nice to have some kind of loss condition when the robot is pushed off the top of the screen, instead of just feeling stuck forever.
Without reading the instructions, it was very unclear that the red circles were bombs rather that just red coins. You might want to spend a little more time on the graphics just to represent different things differently.
Nice effort for a first stab at godot! :robot:
