This was fun!

This was fun!

Overall the game is quite fun, dancing is quite a "incompatitable" coombination with shoot em up, However the game is quite hard to play as i have to keep my eyes on the line below...
Interesting combination! I wish the bars were simpler to hit, or in the middle of the screen, as I find it hard to both look at the bars and move around the screen.
Nice idea. The game lagged quite a bit when I first tried on Firefox, then I opened it in Chrome and it did not lag until near the end. It was a bit hard to look at the beats and enemies at the same time, perhaps if the beats were at the top it would be easier? Or maybe make it easier to just listen to the audio cues; the main beat was easy to guess but sometimes it would not be there, or other beats added, which was a bit confusing. Anyway, I enjoyed it, good job :)
Thanks for the feedback! We had a few conversations throughout the weekend about the "beat bar" and it's positioning. We definately agree that it distracts from the actual shooting gameplay but didn't have enough time to move it somewhere else or show it in a different way.
We created everything from scratch and unfortunately towards the end we starting putting a few too many things into the game for it to handle the rendering. There are waaaaaaaaay too many loops in there (for example) that we could have been smarter with. Perhaps next time we'll use a game engine ;)
Ohh I like it. What's mentioned before about the positioning I agree with, but mixing a shmup with a rhythm game actually makes for a pretty cool combo. gg
After reading some of the commentary in one of the above posts (the street dance video) regarding shoes and technique, I find myself wondering if anyone could give me an in depth explanation of how wearing less sticky shoes would impact my dancing.
I've been dancing as a lead for approximately four years and travel regularly. At around the two year mark, it was recommended to me that I start dancing in stickier shoes so that I would be unable to fudge my footwork. From then on, I've always danced in my street shoes (sperrys.) While dancing in my street shoes, I have had no problems moving on the floor and enjoy regularly adding moves which require me to pivot on my feet into my dancing. Whenever I try to dance in my actual dance shoes, I find that I have more difficulty maintaining posture and balance. Finally, I have never experienced pain in my ankles or knees.
Am I doing it wrong? Could my dancing be greatly be improved were I to re-acclimate to my old dance shoes? I could post a semi-recent video of me dancing if that would help.
For different types of dance, their own, special shoes for dancing are suitable, because standing at the bar in high-heeled shoes is as inconvenient as performing a waltz in pointe shoes. Therefore, in the question of how to choose the right dance shoes, it is worth starting from the dance style. You can take advantage of the advice at https://www.quicksteps.com.au/blog/dance-shoes. There is a lot of interesting about dancers shoes things here.
