great game - the opening cut scene is hilarious and the gameplay is hectic and fun! My only gripe is that when you're pulling the weights up you can't read the other variables.

Nice Game!

I think the game has a super cool idea. The art serves its purpose and the intro cutscene is "different" but not bad. I think sounds would have helped a lot because it was hard to keep track of things when the only way to do so was turning to face the bars of data. Also, I noticed you implemented full first-person movement, but I think the game was better when you didn't move at all and just turned to face everything. Overall not a bad entry, you just needed more time to polish it up.

Excellent story, excellent sense of humor, the animations for the various machines are great, like this is all some horribly cobbled-together Rube Goldberg machine.

It's balanced too difficult when moving I think. If it was slower paced but you couldn't stop and breathe by not winding the weight, and as well if you could always see the parameters, then I would have had a lot more fun with it.

I too am sad you had to keep the game mute. Sounds for the various contraptions could have really added to the humor!

Well that was wacky. It took me longer than I'd care to admit to figure out how to actually wind up the machine, and then a bit longer still to figure out that I could hold the button to wind it further (for a bit I was just clicking it so it would wind for half a second), but once I had it down this was a fun little jaunt. Just about the right difficulty. I definitely smiled once I figured out why each of the machines was "helping" me, hah. Loved the intro/outro images. Well done.

Nice Game, I especialy like the little Cutscene in the beginning. But in the beginning it took some time to realise you have to press "e" instead of any mousebutton to use something, I had also no idea if i am currently moving or not, well there are these tiny windows, but that is the only thing that gives the Player some feedback if you are moving or not and it takes some time to notice that.

crumblybread 2021-04-26 21:03

@dergamer There was a depth meter above your head :D Thank you for the feedback!

dergamer 2021-04-26 21:10

@crumblybread Yes I noticed that, but it wasn't always in viewing range while I was busy with the other stuff, I didn't feel like I had the time to look up because maybe I would lose in that moment.

Nifty game! The "cut scene" images are funny - I especially like the boyfriend's "shocked" face when the mole pops out! The gameplay is fun, but could definitely use some more prompts to let you know when you're getting into the danger zone - audio would be perfect for that. At first I couldn't figure out how to activate anything - trial and error before I discovered that "e" was the mapped key.

Nice game. Love the intro scene. Would be nice to show how deep we went at the end.

bytinggames 2021-04-29 14:21

I love that story xD especially drawn in this art style. I think the setting plays a big role in this game, just the idea of a casual boyfriend needing to use his crazy mole-drilling-machine again.. like what? xD

Funny how you put the hamster in the wheel, the chicken in the oven and so on to keep this machine running. Didn't win though, not sure if it's possible.

Hey, just found a guy with a similar idea: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/deeper-than-beyond It's funny to me that both of you came up with such a similar concept which is both very unique and not at all obvious from the theme.

I like the little intro at the beggining, however i have no ideea of what i did, i just tried to balance the pressure heat and energy, and the game just ended at one point .im not sure if i won or not, it was a bit confusing for me.

fueelin 2021-05-07 21:09

Funny idea! I liked the intro, and really enjoyed the different methods for adjusting the parameters (e.g. the hamster wheel). I managed to keep everything together for a while before eventually getting too much energy while trying to keep the weight up, but I liked playing it!

Good job!

Good funny refreshing and unexpected story. You made me smile. Didn't reach the end. Game over and sounds missing.

vixenmink 2021-05-08 00:56

Very deep. I liked it!
