I really like this one, though it is really hard! The idea is great and the execution is well done! I haven't won yet, but I'm going to keep trying because automating these little bots is a lot of fun. I haven't encountered any real game breaking bugs (other then power crystals being pushed through walls) and overall it's a great experience. I'd really REALLY love to see this idea made into a full game, automation in games really interests me and this game gives me a sort of factorio vibe. Awesome, just awesome work on this, excited to see what you create next LD, keep up the great work!

I think this is my highest rated entry so far on this LD.

Really impressive stuff - a nice mix of Factorio, with the inclusion of your own code parser mechanic :)

Pixel art is very well done too - up to the standard you'd expect from a full indie release.

Very well done - great entry!

The pixel art is what brought me here, but i kinda felt bored while playing the game. The idea is very interesting tho, i've marked innovation high because i liked the concept.

I hope to see more of this so good luck in your dev!

The graphics looks great but the mechanics were too hard for me, I didn't know were to put the elevator and the walkers you should drop some more hints on how to play it

landberglife 2017-08-01 20:36

@josehzz Unfortunately we did not have time to implement a tutorial which i think the game severely needed. The best tip I can give you in text format is to places you Walker at a resource dispencery or your core and then trying out how far the comands takes the robot. The first mine only requier one bot. The mine to the left has a distance of 5 seconds, So a good code could be "Moveleft(5) pickup() moveright(5)" then adding a "goto(0)" at the end to create a loop :)

I should have read the comments first. My first go at it was frustrating. I couldn't figure out what to do at all. After reading some research, I finally understand what I was supposed to be doing. Great work on the look and concept. I like it. Give it a tutorial and I'd play a game like that.

I absolutely love puzzle games and you don't see cool concepts like this every day. The game is hard but not unfair, really great job!

Great game! I really enjoyed playing it! At first it was a little hard to get, but then I managed to understand and do well. The graphics and the mood are incredible. Congratulations to the team!

We made some minor bug fixing and balancing, mainly pressure plates now have more of a use in game. and we fixed a bug involving the advanced Elevator robots and their node connections.

I very liked the overall idea of automating job using robots. As it was mentioned tutorial (or at least some more comprehensive description) would be cool. Also when it comes to scripting when seconds are used as parameter for moving function it would be better if speed of robot was known to player (for example 1 block/second), otherwise player has to find exact value of time by trial and error.

jsmcag 2017-08-02 19:52

This game stands out for its graphics and innovative idea, which was really well implemented!

However, the lack of any direction really made me lost, and I couldn't understand what was the objective, what I was supposed to program the robots to do. The description given also doesn't detail what's the objective.

Still, very good job at actually making this in just a couple of days, very impressive! If you decide to continue developing this game, do make sure to put some kind of tutorial, or at least contextualize what's happening so the player has a clear idea of what the objective is.

Got really excited when stuff started to move. But I think without a tutorial/more documentation I just can't get into it.

johanesskrauser 2017-08-02 23:16

Yes, it's good game and great idea! Thank you guys! Art is done very well! P.s. +1 for added some documentation or tutor.

I generally aren't a fan of programming for entertainment as I already do it for a living and your take on the idea didn't change my mind.

There's a reason why the most popular production line management simulations have neat mouse driven interfaces and no cold hard programming. Figuring out the logic is the interesting bit, not messing with the interface.

Well I gave it a go and noticed that commanding the bots is very finicky, for a multitude of reasons:

* They push the ore around (through walls at times) rather than picking it up. * The bots collide with each other so trying to get them to work together is a hassle. * The robots always reset back to their original position when compiling. * Destroy() doesn't work on pressure plates. * The elevator bot falls like a brick when moving down. * Movement is in seconds, out of all things.

Lets roll with this. How to make it work?

* Robots pass though each other. * Robots pass through ore too. * Elevator are flat so that they can move other robots as well as ore * A Drop() command * Movement based on targets rather than seconds or tiles. Targets are set in the world by clicking. Each target has a name, so the movement command becomes MOVETO(TARGET1). This way each target can be used by multiple robots.

The node system you got already works well, good job on that.

Right, the effort is there, the ambition is there. Now make it work, yeah?

Totally agree with HuvaaKoodia.

Oh, and is it possible to close a window command ?

Good entry anyway, congrats for the prowess !

lamm 2017-08-14 01:18

You did a great game congratulations.

lajazuve 2017-08-17 21:42

great pixel art! it's not easy to understand all tips , but aon this game!
