Neat game!
The card mechanics were pretty nice, and it felt like there were a few resources to balance (health, enemy health, cards in hand, shields). It did seem to feel like the right thing to do was always to just play everything in your hand, so maybe the health cost could be higher, or get higher the more spells you pay in a turn.
The graphics and audio you selected worked nicely with the game. I could see the experience improved by other sound effects or little animations on damage or playing cards.
@jeremy-ryan Yeah, was looking for ways to make the choice of the player matter. Wanted to add something like limited actions per turn, but then card draw would become useless.
Your idea of making cards cost more health depending on how many cards were played before in the turn is very interesting. Wish I'd thought of that ^^
Impressive!
As an aspiring board game designer, I appreciate the concept and think there's a lot of potential should you choose to expand on Warlock.
I'll mirror the criticism I saw earlier in that more often than not, there best move was to play all the cards you could from your hand. This implies an issue with balance, though it could be rectified if players were able to customize their decks. The artifact system is where the choices lay. Perhaps having a limited number of minions you can play per turn (say, 3?) would add more choices for the player to make, improving player engagement. This won't necessarily make card draws useless since you'd theoretically increase your number of options at the cost of one minion play (if you've ever played Dominion, I think that's a good reference to see how card draws can work in a system with limited plays).
Overall, a great start and definitely impressive that it was made in a weekend. Keep up the good work!
good job. to be honest it took me a while to understand the concept but the theme was well implemented
Can I have my opponents deck?
A cool idea and an impressive implementation for a game Jam. I felt like my opponents deck was a bit too focused on healing him and some of the cards felt unbalanced. But that is normal for a gamejam. But if you made more cards it would have been cool if you could have chosen which deck you want to play with.
Anyways, such a cool result to come out of a gamejam, and especially the cards look so nice!
@squishywizard44 Thanks for the feedback. You might be right about giving up a minion for getting more options. I should've compared more to boardgames like dominion, hadn't thought about that. I'll keep that in mind for future game jams. I was planning on adding a deckbuilding aspect at first, but couldn't really think of a way to implement it in its current form.
@andidebob Might update/change this game later. My main goal for this ludum dare was making a working cardsystem with custom deck. If I'm gonna work more on this game I'll make sure to add different decks to choose from and a larger variety of cards. ^^
I appreciate all the feedback and hope everyone enjoys the game.
Cool game. I couldn't beat it. I just realized you could only play one artifact per turn. Thought it was a bug, oops haha. Maybe more clarity about that somehow would help. Like some other people said, it seems like you want to just play all your cards every turn, but the order does matter since the armor blocks anything. Nice job.
really cool game, altough i discover a little bug it was really good looking and enjoyalbe!
@somefarang Yeah, added a small indication for artifacts last moment, but I do understand that it looks like a bug. Something to fix if I decide to work in this some more.
@sirrafufl Glad you liked it, what kind of bug did you encounter?

Nice game, but it is very hard. Enemy cards disapear too quickly. I has a problem reading what what enemy cards do and what kind of action are going on when i end turn.
Neat game! The card mechanics were pretty efficient. The main aesthetic you selected works as well as possible with this kind of games. I am not a real fan of card games, but yours gave me fun. Well done ++
I love card games so this one was right up my alley. It was an interesting idea to have the wizard battle a town. Actually it was quite refreshing! The town's deck seemed a little to focused in what it played but balancing a card game is tricky especially when you only have 72 hours to do it. Other than that I found the game a delight to play and I applaud you for finishing the Jam!
@pawciu Yeah, was trying out different durations of showing enemy cards. At a longer time it started getting really annoying. If I had more time I'd probably made it that the time was longer but the player could click through it.
@geckoo1337 @kunonooni Glad you liked the game
@krammetje no bug that i couldn't avoid, but after i ended the turn i could press the button a multiple times and the cards bugged into each other. Maybe i didnt understand one of the rules but it's a very good game anyways.
@sirrafufl Ah I see. Looks like I forgot to disable the button on the enemy's turn.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow, I finally made it to the victory after severall tries :).
First of all I must say that I am not a big fan of card games but your game is really entertaining. It was dynamic enought and the music was fitting the subject. I would love to see a bit more animation (but not too much keep the dynamism).
The mechanism of the health was a good alternativ to the classic mana.
Finally, I may be a really bad player but I found the game a bit hard/random I don't feel like I changed anything at my strategy to win(basically play all possible cards and hope to get the +15 health helmet)
@elinks Glad you liked it. The game was more RNG than I originally planned, balancing was quite difficult.
I like the game mechanics, was astounded by the graphics, good choice of assets
@raphael-maia Glad you liked it. Got most of the graphics from humble bundles. [Rexard](https://assetstore.unity.com/publishers/13229) got some great art assets.
The game is very polished and works well. Artifacts could be easier to see. Maybe different card layout?. I agree with all the comments that playing all cards is the winning strategy. Maybe add more risk/reward cards?
The UI got me a bit confused at first as to which side I was on, and the cards need a bit more balancing. But the game works very smoothly, I knew exactly what I was doing after a while. Hope you'll put more work into the game and expand it. Overall a really good job!
@sergi-montaner Making artifacts a different style would've probably been a smart idea. And I agree with it being to little risk/reward.
@gastricsparrow Thanks for the feedback. I haven't had the feedback yet that it was confusing which side you are on, I will keep it in mind. I might continue working on it later. Adding more variation/mechanics, making it less "play everything" and giving the enemy more personality/strategy (and probably adding different enemies).
You were not lying. It is definitely a warlock card game xD. Very nice graphical polish and game mechanics. Overall very well done.
Great work - the game was easy to learn and had some interesting decisions. With some more visual polish and mechanic fine tuning, it could really shine. Keep it up!

Neat game and pretty good graphics! I wish that there was a little more feedback when you played a card and some sfx to make the game more alive. At one point I was just clicking on the cards and not even looking at what they did. Very goo stuff done though considering that it was all done in 48 hours, especially for a card game! Here is another card game I thought was pretty neat.

Oh @sleepqt! That was just another game that I found that I just wanted to recommend to you! It was made by @recursor. I was impressed by the work done and art too! :D
@copper-aardvark-games @echo-gameworks Thank you.
@coatline @sleepqt Glad you liked it. Art is from a Humble Bundle some time back.
Impressive work doing a card game in a game jam. Didn't feel like that there was much more to the strategy in the game though - it felt that throwing low damage attacks to whittle down the blocks and then laying on the large attacks was the dominant play each round, so winning came down to playing as many cards as possible, and hoping for RNG (and hoping the enemy doesn't get hold of those annoying 2x1 booby traps).
Realy good card game, some stuff could be more balanced but overall a classic, classics are always fun. Nice work and thx for sharing.
@randomphantom Yeah I agree. If I decide to continue working on this I need to add more risk/reward to the cards instead of just "play everything".
