Pretty good game! I don't understand why no one rates you! It's very fun to play!

oakus 2019-05-04 10:53

The game is nice, it works and is understandable. It was a bit easy for me but I prefer that in LudumDare entries to being frustrating. One easy way to increase difficulty could be put some shooting towers with different projectile speed and different shooting delay. Also there seems the be too much pillows (or bags) to put on the pressure plates. The audio was a bit quiet but one can just increase overall volume. The graphic are simple, nice and consistent, they suit the environment. Well done!

Keep rating games to get this one more attention! It’s really fun and enjoyable. Great work!

Thanks for playing and the positive comments!

I will rate more games, don't worry . Had some annoying bugs to figure out first, the physics can be a pain sometimes.

The difficulty is always tricky to get right in such short time, I've often made it too difficult so decided to go a little easier this time. Partly because I decided halfway to change from a puzzle-based game to arcade shooter(couldn't think of any puzzles), so I didn't have too much time to try out and experiment with different enemy setups.

Good job on the game. It was a relaxing game and it looked pretty good. I would have liked to see some more variety. Also it could be pretty difficult to get through the doors without getting when when there were all 4 turrets alternating fire while you wait outside it. Overall, nicely done.

a-coltzz 2019-05-07 18:20

I really loved the graphics and sound effects, also the shooting was really fun good job on making this. If you have time check out my game too :v:

udo 2019-05-07 22:51

This looks wonderful, any chance of getting a macOS or Linux build?

aevek 2019-05-08 04:09

Actually a pretty fun little game. My only major gripe is that you don't restrict the cursor to the game window so I kept accidentally clicking on things on my other screen causing the game to loose focus. I think you made a good call on difficulty for the jam, as if a game is too hard people rating won't see all of it, but in future maybe some difficulty options would be a good idea that limit the amount of pickups there are?

bongard22 2019-05-08 04:11

Fun little game, the art was very good.

My biggest compliant is the lack of a cursor so aiming feels pretty bad. Also I think a little thing that would so much would be some sort of feedback on a hit vs a miss. Cool idea though and I could see the adjusting levels of health versus energy in combat being a lot of fun.

Thanks for playing and feedback!

About the cursor, the aiming arrow does show where the cursor is on the screen if you played the bugfix version, though it can be hidden by walls occasionally. I was not aware you could restrict the cursor to the window, will have to remember that for next time.

Feedback for hit/miss is a good idea, was planning to add different sound effects for it but ran out of time.

@udo I have uploaded a linux build now, it's not tested though.

Thank you for exporting a Linux binary, it works  ^

The turrets somehow shot me through the door :stuck_out_tongue:

Well done game, plays very smooth, graphics are excellent. Audio is a bit low. I like the indirection between currency, health, and energy. If you decide to make a post-compo version, I think there'd be a compelling case for power-ups also working in the same way, for example shields or a specialized attack.

What might be worth a try, gameplay-wise, is a version where you select a "focus" ability (for example health regen, weapon energy, other ability) and as long as it has the focus, it regenerates from the "currency" pool. That way you could put an almost arbitrary number of abilities in there for the player to manage.

Anyway, well done!

This game feels natural

goerp 2019-05-18 19:31

It looked great. It's Marvin from the hitchhikers guide, right? Like that! I read about sound effects, but I had no sound. Too bad, I would have loved to hear door thanking me for opening them. Good take on the theme

odlog-oglog 2019-05-18 19:55

I really liked this game, it's relaxing but it has action elements, Good job and keep it up! :D

Btw Marvin is pretty cute!

avon 2019-05-18 20:35

@ivanpavlov @goerp @odlog-oglog

Thanks for playing!

I did get the name from hitchhikers, yes. Not really the same robot though, just the first robot name that came to my mind. The game does have sound effects, so its strange that you didn't hear anything. The volume is a bit low, but should be audible. Nothing as fancy as the doors thanking you though, that'd been funny.

psiv 2019-05-19 13:23

A good solid game, I enjoyed it, good job! I did find it a little tricky to try to heal/recharge energy/dodge the 4 turrets at the same time, mashing Q/E and WASD, felt like I needed more fingers  Can't relly think of a solution to that though, maybe make the Q/E toggles? Maybe I just need to work on my dexterity!

avon 2019-05-19 13:34

@psiv Thanks for playing! My tactic there was to run in quick, shoot like mad and then duck behind walls again to regenerate. In retrospect I think left shift and space would have been better buttons to use.

phantomeniasll 2019-05-19 17:00

Nice and simple Game with pretty good graphics and sounds.

vjmunhoz 2019-05-19 18:32

great game! I started to think that there would be no end, so I just went kamikaze, when I saw what happens to be the final room. Then I got killed :(

vjmunhoz 2019-05-19 18:52

For some reason I did not get any sound... I rated it low but I see now that other people are saying good things about it.

avon 2019-05-19 19:21

@phantomeniasll @vjmunhoz

Thanks for playing! It's strange that several people have not had sound, never had this issue with Unity before. It is possible to cancel a rating by clicking the cross to the right of it.

squid 2019-05-19 21:48

Yeah, I got no sound to. Used the bug fixed version. Played really well, good job.

nathant 2019-05-19 22:51

Had a great time playing this. Took about 3 tries to get to the end. Really liked the minimalist style and the vfx really popped. Also impressed with how you managed to capture a warm tone in a landscape consisting only of metal and robots. I too missed the audio at first, but it sounds nice when you crank it up. Felt like a good intro to a sci-fi dungeon crawler.

kaeveris 2019-05-20 20:03

Very cool game! I really enjoyed the graphics!

vodzik 2019-05-20 22:03

Nice graphics and audio (but I would turn volume up :p). Maybe its just me, but it was sometimes hard to aim. Maybe this is good. This game could be a little bit harder.

pablotitan 2019-05-21 10:34

I'm glad I spotted this game, as it turned out to be a fun! :D Tough the controls was hard for me, the gameplay was quite easy and satysfying :D And really beautiful graphics and effects!
