amazing game. I've always wanted to build something like this (assigning quests to adventurers), but I never thought that an Innkeeper could be doing this. (I was always going to some "adventurers guild" idea)
The mood is excelent, the UI is great. For the period of the challenge, you did an amazing job.
Do you plan to continue working on this? I think it could be a great game.
great mood! I like seeing a lighthearted game among all those "contract with the devil" with this theme. The gun does nothing besides being cool?
too much talk on the start, I was trying to understand the controls and people kept talking. Besides that, it was a fun and hard game.
interesting concept! the theme is well placed. The bright colors and high saturation enlightens the mood and is unexpected with the "life is currency" theme together with slaves.
i keep falling off as well, but I found it interesting. Remembered me of old snowboard games from PS1
the most polished game that I played on the #ld44. It feels too easy though. I was always at full health, using the rain sugar together with slow motion, and it was always possible to kill everybody and recover health.
A suggestion would be a hard difficult option that would decrease the chance of droping health =)
I didn't understand what was happening... After losing some cards, I put one that was gaining life, but dealing no damage
for some reason I keep pressing F but the build menu was not opening. It opened one time after a while, I built the turret, and then it did not opened again. (I played the bugfix2)
the game is cool, I was at 50 life when I realised that I would not recover it till the end of the room haha
waiting a Web or Linux version in order to play it =)
@svdvorak the linux version worked! I executed the "Brain.bin.x86_64" file. I'll play more later and give a proper feedback. Thanks!
I've played a couple of times now. The first time I mistakenly thought that the health was the time and vice versa. After understanding it better I could go much further. I think this could be a nice mechanic for a game simillar to papers please, or these type of "job simulation" game. If you are into those things, I can imagine some weird stories that could come up!
A list of upcoming "contracts" and "subjects" would be nice too.
The best part of it I think is the "Innovation" and "Theme" categories. =)
haha, it was fun to play. I like the tutorial, it really helped a lot
excelent graphics and mood. Interesting game, but it gets to "reset and try again" really fast after the first time you die
@lalou yeah. The idea was to use the compass to check if you are going to the right direction, and put some other items to help. Unfortunatelly the only item that I managed to put was the Teleport Scroll. I intended to put some other items such as a "life contract", where you receive a ton of life, but it would decrease much faster after some turns
@svdorak thanks! We would like to increase the items placement on the harder difficulties, increasing the amount of meaningful decisions of the player
@joror thanks for the feedback. The idea was to put much more items where you could gamble with your life in the "push your luck" style. (+20 life, but with a chance of consuming 2 or 3 life points in each turn, for example)
The easy mode usually is very easy to find the exit if you use the compass to narrow it down. As the exit glows blue, you just need to see the corridor that is receiving the exit light, and it could be seen by a distant...
But sometimes I understand that the maze that is generated don't help at all.
@bakenshake thanks! Yeah, you won the game! I did not had time to do a proper "You won screen" hahah
@arron-fowler thanks for the feedback! Swiping would totally made a positive difference. I realized that just after doing the buttons. But the time was over...
@rob-white thanks! The movement is slower indeed. Even more on the web and mobile... unfortunately. I'll keep working on the game and increase the movement speed for sure
@comicsans it costs life to use the compass =)
Thanks guys! @squid @peterfonts
I love the slowmotion when an enemy dies. The game is really simple and runs amazingly well. Really polished game. I survived until wave 13 and then I had to reload and died...
the game is fun, but it is fast to find an optimal way of doing things... It would be great if the player had an incentive to try to go faster (some pre-determined time to beat, for example)
great work guys! Simple idea, but well executed. It remembered a lot of the fuel mechanic of FTL...
