Hi man, you have really nice pixel art, but nobody will see it if u don`t do some feedback to other games. good luck.
The controls are very confusing and uncomfortable, also the combat is weird and I get killed very fast. Graphics look very well and polished. Background music gets pretty annoying after some time :p
Nice music and graphic. the controls are really confusing. the spawnrate is a little bit to high for the spiders.
Hey, it's Josh. As you might have guessed, I really liked the art. Did NOT expect the music to make me feel mellow and chilled out haha.
Mechanically, I think the combat is really tough - I struggled to stay alive long enough to figure out what was going on. I like that your attacks (and the spiders) have a telegraphed hit-radius - that's something lots of games don't bother with but I think it helps, especially when picking up unfamiliar weapons/items. Speaking of, the intrigue for just how many weapons/items they could drop kept me playing, a bit like _Enter The Gungeon_.
Maybe when scoping next time you can cut back a little on the vision - shop and lots of enemies etc., and focus on polishing some core mechanic. It's impressive what you managed to get done all by yourself. :)
The Controls on the keyboard are quite unusual and complicated. Also the game has to many unpolished features. But the graphics look nice. In the whole impressive result for only one creator.
Phew, 29 bugs! Really cool game, got me playing for quite some time. I really like the sling mechanic :-)
The art atmosphere is great here. I enjoyed the music, but it didn't seem to fit the mood of the game. I found it quite challenging, partially because you had to drop your current item to pick up another instead of just swapping them, which led me to die a few times. I also couldn't get the D-PAD to work on my PS4 controller. Overall good entry!
Nice graphics, but there were to many keys to learn for my taste.
Z to hit? Wasn't there any better key biddings?
On the other side it was super cool that the game had a contextual hint system to remind you of how to grab stuff and so.
I really like the music and the graphics are great! I'm not sure about controls, they were a bit confusing and I got killed a lot
The art was really cool, spot on pixel perfect sprites and nice color palette. Gameplay itself was kinda promising. Rather oldschool fighting system with more or less satisfying hit feedback. Felt a little sluggish though, but a lot better than most entries in this genre. The rest of the gameplay was a mystery for me. Took me a while to find out, that "z" was the attack button. On european keybords, that key is where your "y" is, so pretty far off. The rest of the control schema didn't flow well and was very unintuitive. It was clear, that you build the game around controller usage. I don't have one lying around here, so that wasn't the best experience for me. And, to be honest, I had no idea, what I was doing. Killing spieders and collecting stuff, they drop? Didn't really mean anything to me and there didn't seem to be a shop or crafting system of any sort. So, good entry, but it seemed that some of the core gemplay mechanics were missing or not working correctly.
I couldn't see how anyone would use the orb hahaha. When I got the spear, it was great. Then I dropped an axe and keep killing the spiders
Interesting mechanics for some weapons. Really enjoyed using the slinger
@vjmunhoz Thanks for playing! Looks like I totally nerfed the orb to the point of it being useless without realising :face_palm: It's supposed to throw out 4 beams.
I really love the aesthetic and it seems like you had a lot more planned with all the items and such. I will say the sword was the only weapon I was really able to have any chance of killing a good amount of spiders. The music was really peaceful considering I was killing a ton of spiders haha, that made me chuckle. I imagined myself as this peaceful person who just felt very relaxed while taking out nasty spiders all day
if I understand correctly the game was just the one area , but hey it's a game jam so time runs out.
I had fun playing it. I used a gamepad and it felt like it controlled pretty well
