Dope :)

wie 2019-04-30 15:04

It's a great shooter, feels really good to play. Level design isn't always that good, i'm not always sure where i'm supposed to go etc. There was some spikes on the ground, but i thought it was a normal floor tile, because it didn't look like spikes at all so that was kinda annoying. But I really like the combat in this game.

pseudobytes 2019-04-30 15:04

Pretty fun game, though the map feels a bit empty at times. It doesn't help that movement feels a bit sloppy because you keep moving for a little bit after letting go of your WASD keys, but this comes down to personal preference. Overall the game feels well done and complete!

schematical 2019-04-30 15:05

I like the art

icebollero 2019-04-30 15:08

I like how you used the theme! I wanted a faster player speed, that could make the game more dynamic , anyway , this is really good , nice job .

jutjuan 2019-04-30 15:10

The game feels really polished and it looks like you even had time to spare on making menus (which look really good to me btw)

steffo 2019-04-30 15:16

I moved from playing [Enter the Gungeon](https://store.steampowered.com/app/311690/Enter_the_Gungeon/) to playing this, and I felt the movement, camera and aim mechanics were definitely solid! Well done.

However... I didn't understand the point of most of the items in the shop. Is the slingshot (lol nice sound) a downgrade?

Pretty fun though! ^^

aspect 2019-04-30 15:16

nice one :) a little too difficult for me but I am noob :D I also got a little irritated by that large CD on shooting; but that may be bc we made similar game but with higher shooting speed :D

bentebent 2019-04-30 15:25

@steffo Yeah you're definitely right in that items could have used a better explanation! The slingshot is a downgrade for those who think the base game is too easy ;) Thanks for the feedback!

lucas-vieira-santos 2019-04-30 17:38

the idea is great, and the graphics good. i miss a notifications about how much hp you have and what the upgrade make!

kaish 2019-05-01 03:00

Congrats, well done.

The theme was very well applied. The gameplay is fluid. Great job with programming.

Please, rate my game and leave some feedback too =]

funny to play! I loved the smooth movements. I see you opted out for the music but it doesn't matter, you chose it right! :) oh and I really appreciated the menu!

pixscope 2019-05-01 21:28

I love it !

echo-gameworks 2019-05-01 22:17

Solid work and fun. I'll agree with the large cooldown on the firing. Great stuff!

jake-white 2019-05-01 22:40

Tight controls and nice animation, would like a toned down screen shake though!

mamoniem 2019-05-02 08:31

I love the game, and love the art style more!

black-flag 2019-05-02 15:41

Satisfying shooting and good graphics! The gameplay also feels really polished! Overall this is a great entry!

shubart 2019-05-02 22:03

nice entry. Good looking game

gargantus 2019-05-02 22:08

A very fun and good looking game. Shooting is very satisfying. My only complain is that sometimes enemies can appear out of nowhere and kill you, but overall the game is great :)

rainsong 2019-05-02 22:09

This is a lot of fun. Loved the sound effects, too. Nice work!

ianlux 2019-05-02 23:08

I liked the art! Played both jam and post-jam versions, prefered the first one actually xD (the second one's fire rate and speed is too slow, which makes the game too much for my limited skills haha) Good job!

bustosman 2019-05-03 09:43

For the original version, I didn't like how I could accidentally walk into the stairs before I engaged with all of the enemies, if that wasn't the intention. For the enemies that only walked to the player, I think there could have been variation in their movement, such as dashing from time to time. Great entry!

bentebent 2019-05-03 09:47

@bustosman I fully agree with both your points. There needs to be some kind of separation or obstacle that the player needs to overcome before going down the stairs, otherwise it turns into a speed run on the earlier levels at least :) And zambies are a bit dumb in their chasing behaviour, no doubt. Thanks for the feedback!

cozmic 2019-05-03 13:30

Really nice game, graphics and sound play very well together! Accodring to gameplay, I think the rooms should be smaller. It really feels empty sometimes. Or you can add some obstacles in the room to make it feel less empty and also make it a little harder.

charu 2019-05-03 14:12

Really well done sound! Really liked the concept of buying things from your health. Nice work :D

oillen 2019-05-03 14:18

This game is at least 'good'. Binding of Isaac the Doomguy who is better at shooting would describe it quite well - it suffers a bit from the same 'problems' like in BoI e.g. you get offen unhelpful rewards like blood when your health is full, or tons of skulls if you are in dire need of health - the post ludum edition solved that issue already. A favorite to me in LD-44.

dorblin7z7 2019-05-04 03:50

Looks great, fast paced and fun. But really I'm rating you 100% based on the Rambo-Skeleton. I can't get enough of that guy.

puppetmaster 2019-05-04 11:03

really well done, I like the effects, too. I also tried the post-jam version as a comparison, but find it a step back in the gameplay,

tricky-fat-cat 2019-05-04 13:14

Well done. I like graphics and sounds, the idea of the shop is pretty neat. However, the skeleton is too powerful, it would have been better if it had had a lower rate of fire and projectiles had had a lower speed.

copper-aardvark-games 2019-05-04 18:18

I love the graphics to death and the gameplay is very clean and addictive. Incredible job!

cheesepencil 2019-05-04 22:06

Great entry. I bought the pistol twice (thrice?) not realizing that I was just rebuying the starter gun and not a weapon upgrade. Five hits is a lot for a zombie mob!

magnanix 2019-05-05 13:49

It was quit fun, had difficulty figuring out what my health was, until I learned that each segment is 10 :D. I didn't get very far. Music just kinda vanished after a while, not sure where it went :o!

360 2019-05-05 13:59

i like the jam version better

bakenshake 2019-05-08 04:37

The sound effects in this are awesome and really on point. I enjoyed them a lot. Are the levels procedurally generated? I got a different one each time I died. I played the LD version of the game, not the post-jam one (totally dig how that is an option in the main menu - well done). Also your UI stuff is well thought out. For me, some of the text did cut off, but that's my only complaint. I had fun playing it!

bentebent 2019-05-08 07:34

@bakenshake thanks for checking out the game and the nice feedback! The levels are indeed procedurally generated using BSP subdivison :)

webox 2019-05-12 14:50

Animation on this game is brilliant, I really liked it! I'd love to see the enemies being hit by the environment too! Some cool emerging gameplay can come up of that. A really solid entry!

elrobo 2019-05-12 19:45

Really liked the art style, and very nice polish for a jam game (volume control and instructions menu). Only negative I would say is that the camera shake on enemies attacking made it hard to control when multiple fast shooting enemies appeared.

alexhonor 2019-05-20 11:18

A solid entry. Really liked the movement and general gameplay loop. My only complaints are way too much screenshake(For my taste) and hard to spot cursor.
