Second LD game!
Good job! Some stuff to work on: There's no satisfying feedback to the shots besides the screenshake and exposion when the creeps die. It could be nice to have some visual feedback when you hit them (i,e knockback, screenshake, enemies flashing, blood particles like the ones they use when they die.) Whenever the shop pops up it feels like the game is about to crash. The random that controls the creep spawn could use some tweaking to avoid putting them too close to the player making them undodgeable, you could lose out of bad luck and that's unfair. It's a good game that could be way more fun with some upgrades on game feel. I suggest checking this talk out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJdEqssNZ-U
A nicegame! It's much fun to play. In my opinion the beginning is very hard and in the middle its very easy. At the ending the enemies oneshot you. Try to balace that. And it would be so much easier to play and I think it would get a better rating and more people would play it if you could play the game directly in the browser. With Unity you can simply change your game in the build settings to WEP-GL and upload it to e. g. itch. io or simmer. io. But overall it's a very god game, one of the best I played si far.
I played on easy difficulty, and even though i bought life steal in the beginning, i couldn't get enough hp to buy anything. Combat feels good though, i would like there to be more variety in the attacks the player can do. The screen shake effect is good and makes fighting feel more responsive. Graphics are ok, music is pretty annoying really.
@davidus Thanks for the feedback, i appreciate it very much, I'll try to balance the gameplay in the next patch!
@frenziedp Thanks for sending me this amazing feedback, I'll take it to my heart. I didn't know how to do screenshake till the day i decided to make this game, so this video will help me a lot Again, thanks for playing
Very nice work on this! I liked the upgrade system and how it made you feel more powerful, the only change i'd make would be to make it more of a skill tree than just buying anything. The models and sound effecs were great too! :)
@gamesplusjames thanks for playing!
Great game! I have seen this interpretation of the theme a lot but it still does the job. The enemies look very good, the music fits the game really well and the sound effects are very polished too.
Overall: Fun game, nice graphics!
Fun: It's a fun mouse & keyboard shooter. I enjoyed it. This game does a great job of making me feel more powerful as I buy upgrades. By the time I got to the victory screen, the game was no longer a challenge and I was nearly ready to quit... maybe it needs some clear indication of how far you are from winning (or did I miss it?) - this would motivate the player to play it all the way through.
Innovation: Not huge - I've seen a lot of mouse & keyboard shooters like this in the past (and done one myself for an earlier LD, but not nearly this professional...!)
Theme: Yes
Graphics: Very good. I am impressed that you found the time to model the player and 3 enemies. The lighting effects are good. I like the slow-down effect at the end of each round. Only the menu looks a little hurried (and the text doesn't stick out very well against the game). And I don't understand the significance of the purple part of the play area.
Audio: The sound effects are good. The music grates after a couple of minutes. The shooting sound effect started to glitch at max shooting speed. (Might be a browser thing.)
Humor: The cats are amusing. I feel like there's a joke I'm missing in the title? Something to do with a cerebellum?
Mood: Sure, you captured the mood of this sort of shooter well.
I've really liked this game. Maybe you could add some to show that you're actually hitting the monsters, even a sound, and some timer to know when you'll be able to buy some upgrades. A lot of potential in the game, nice work, thx for sharing.
I liked the explosions and screenshake, it went a long way to making this something I played for far longer than I thought I would initially. The UI was a little hard to read, the thin bright font on the bright background wasn't the easiest to read and was the main thing that needed improving. Just something as simple as putting a background panel behind the text would have made it easier to read during the middle of gameplay. The game was actually very challenging, but I'm not sure the upgrade system was working properly as the two upgrades I had enough life to purchase during my playtime (auto-fire and I forget the other) didn't appear to do anything. It was also very hard to acquire any additional life and considering how easy it was to lose, the upgrades seemed very expensive and it was hard to judge whether buying one would be worth it. Not bad for a jam game though, and it was a fun experience. I hope you continue to make games and get better, you've got potential to become a good developer in time.
Had a great time playing. I love the graphics and game mechanics.
