The idea is cool!! Create KAIJU is really fun, and pixel art is lovely. Great job!
Cool idea creating a monster from random comments. I only said the nastiest things to my Kaiju :D
Cheers,
Matei (BananaHammers Team)
The player has very little discernible agency in the creation...almost to the point where it may as well be randomly generated.
A very novel idea! I had fun talking to my KAIJU, although it'd be interesting to know what the effect is, exactly. It felt a bit bothersome to make another to see them fight and I wish they had more actions than attacking, but very cool nonetheless.
I don't get it what makes it evolve? the input?
It’s fun to try again and again to see all combinations; the art is pretty good! Maybe instead of waiting for another challenger you could add a “random opponent” button?
I raised one kaiju by saying nice things to it and another by being mean and had them fight. The harshly raised kaiju won.
Unlike anything I've seen so far! good work
yay! Love this kinda tamagochi games! Thanks for the experience and good job mate! :D
I should be nicer to my Kaiju
A bit random, I'm not sure what the point of anything I was doing was. Also wasn't sure how to fight; did I need to first create a second Kaiju?
In the end, I spawned a copy of my kaijumon and killed my other kaijumon. Great job overall! What you could have done to easily make this 10x better, though...generate a random number influenced from text and pick from a switch statement some reaction from the kaiju. Then it instantly feels like somethings actually happening rather than just numbers going up randomly. Ex: "I love you, jdmazz!" My kaiju was named after me. :-) Then it would say, "I feel happy!" or "I'm hungry" or something random like that. It would instantly be the same level as Neopets. :-P
@jdmazz: Thanks for advice, actually I have tried add something like this in PosdLD version. But one of the most import problem is that my english is very poor. So I decided take this part out from this game :P
Nice idea, graphics are nice, but I didn't understand at all if there is any difference if i said different things. And I couldn't fight another one for a while :(
I like it. I made a stupid bulbasaur-type thing and my friend made a magic jar with a screw and a red butt. I won because he sucks at everything. This game would benefit from more content but what you've got is really neat. It's fun to experiment.
A really cool concept, could use a story where you're kaiju fights other randomly generated kaiju, and it could also use a bit more depth to the fighting system.
A seriously interesting idea, though I'm not sure quite how well it was implemented. Of course, in 48 hours there isn't that much you could do towards such a complicated concept, so good work getting what you did manage done!
It's hard to see how much the player's input matters, but the kaiju I actually spoke to was able to easily smash the kaiju I just said "ur shit" to over and over. So that much is promising, at least.
I'm gonna leave my kaiju here so other people at least have something to compare theirs to or fight. Hopefully that will give those who come after a better understanding of the game!

I seem unable to paste in my, or other people's code in either Original or Post LD versions, can't fight anyway :(. Growing my kaiju was fun though... he got his first power when I yelled Fight-o!
@Jimbly: Try use mouse to paste code, the game engine locked the keyboard input...
That was a super original idea, hopefully post ludum you make the kaiju maker a bit more innovative and less random with them comments -> reward system. Very unique and well done though!
I liked that I had to talk to my Kaiju to make it stronger, though I had to do a lot of talking haha! My Kaiju was very strange looking in the end though :D
Unfortunately I couldn't get the fighting to work :( so Bob was very lonely. I was a little confused to the name as you seem to be using some Katakana in the title though it doesn't say Kaiju :(
@cptalbertwesker: I'm sorry you could't get fighting to work, maybe you can try paste code before entering wait scene.
About the title, it's not Katakana(ya,it's English :P), it's just "looks like" Katakana. I use the font Electroharmonix, this is a font which original from katakana and a few kanji.
Loved it! I made a good monster with words about love and happiness and coral reefs and pleasant autumn forests, and it beat my hellfiredeath Kaiju hands down! :p
I think my only criticism would be to make the title screen look more interesting. I very nearly passed this game by as it didn't look so great from just screenshots.
My Kaiju were :

Couldnt get my tamagotchi kaiju to battle
Nice art and concept. Its fun playing it
Couldn't get them to fight :(
Otherwise interesting concept :)
Seems like so many people can't get them fight, I have tried in Chrome & FireFox they are work fine.
There is a known bug: If you try to enter VS without enter correct code, the game will freeze. This is a javascript problem.(Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input). I'm sorry about this bug and not fix this in Post LD version. So I recommand paste code in title to avoid this bug. Also, this is a javascript + html game, I am not sure if this may cause a security setting problem or not.
Anyway, I'm sorry about this, and I will try avoid the bug like this next time.
Thanks for all your comments.
Such a cool idea!
It could be more user friendly, as it's not completely clear that you have to copy/paste codes and it' easy to lose your monster that way. And more importantly, I couldn't copy paste or type anything using my keyboard! I had to right-click for everything which is super inconvenient.
That being said I had lots of fun talking to my creatures even though I had no idea how much of it actually mattered :) (probably not that much). In the end my monster "fast little bastard" won against "huge scary dekkai monster".
I wish the influence we had on the monster was a bit less random, but I love the concept in general, it has lots of potential, and my favorite part is checking what other people said to their kaiju by decoding the base64 codes :)
Here are my two monsters:

よくできましたね!
Interesting concept, though I wish I had a better understanding of what the things I was saying to my pet were doing to it and why. Also I got tripped up on the fact that I couldn't use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to put in the codes, I had to right click and do copy/paste. (I am using Chrome)
Good idea, I played the post LD, too :)
Awesome idea! I think it's worth exploring more. I see a lot of potential here! Love the fact that you can carry around your Kaiju by storing the code somewhere.
Please consider giving more insight into the evolution process. Make the connection between the input and the upgrades more visible. Maybe use a dictionary to assign certain words with skills and upgrade accordingly. There may be a word list around that already makes the connection between words and themes, maybe you can use a thesaurus.
You can put a lot of psychology into it I guess where positive comments will create a more loyal creature while being negative can grow a mean bastard.
Gameplay-wise I think it could be extended to contain a single player campaign. The fighting format can even stay that way, only the enemies are randomly generated and grow stronger from fight to fight.
