I really like the art. The animations are really cool, and the camera shake on attack is a neat addition. The particle effects are neat, too.
Nice game, though I have seen the idea in another submission too. But the idea makes sense and works. Personally not a fan of the camera movement tho! It's a bit too 'bouncy' :p
The game is fun for 5 minutes, later I get bored because I was doing the same thing over and over(no sounds :( ), but the gameplay is smooth, and omg, those graphics are amazing. You did a great job.
Graphics were really cool, nice game! Liked the upgrades. Was able to walk directly down and end up in a weird blue void.

the game is pretty solid,excellent work guys,my only suggestion it's ramp up the difficulty a bit (maybe make the fireballs go faster over time?) because you can get pretty OP in my opinion

Solid game, I really like the interpretation of spending your maximum health instead of your raw HP, made me think differently from some of the other games I've seen so far. This would have benefited a lot from some sound effects, especially with how awesome all the other feedback was on the combat. The screen shaking and cool particles and trails were awesome. Also, I could shoot really fast with no cap? Made a lot of the combat not very challenging, not sure if that was intended.
Not bad, but not very consistent with the theme

Really liked the game, the only thing i didn't liked was the camera, but that was only personal preference, awesome job guys!
Nice pixel art, I like when the health flies to the player. Missing some nice audio stuff. And you can actually walk outside of the map, enemies get spawned anyway.

@roxaul I agree, we needed to amp the game up for a more game fuel that motivates the player to play again.
This was pretty fun - combat felt good, the effects and camera shake were really sweet, and the upgrades felt nicely paced. As others have said, the camera was a bit bouncy, and there wasn't much of a difficulty change over time. This was awesome though, really good work!
maybe just a bit too much screen-shake, other wise quite nice. I'd love to see what can be done later in development.
i liked it very much! the pixel art, the animation and the overral visual where very well made, but to me the lack of music and sound effect really took a hit to the mood. Found it fun but a bit too easy, maybe making the enemies do more damage, be faster or even make it so we regenerate much less the hp would make it even more fun and challengind

The game is fun to play
But, the camera movement get's me a little dizzy and maybe the shop should telegraph when you purchased something. I sacrificed my entire life trying to upgrade my attack by accident hahahaha
But that is a good game, tho.

My biggest complain is the shop, the number on the life bar is hard to see enough, and there is no feedback when you purchase the upgrade, it took me twice to figure out the shop is not bugged and I'm buying the upgrades properlly, but I just can't tell.
The game is pretty good! I enjoyed my time with it. I really like the animation of the blood coming back towards the player but animations like that screams for some sound. I really like the aesthetic of the game as well, it has nice pixel art and a cool dude sitting on a red throne/chair. I had a weird encounter with the movement at times, I would be holding in one direction for a certain amount of time and when I let go of that key I would still be going in that direction. Other than that, great job!
I liked the animation and drawing of objects, the game mechanics are cool. It is a little unclear when the player gets the level, I would like to see the progress bar experience. It is easy to go beyond the boundaries of the world, it spoils the whole atmosphere. Sounds would greatly increase the atmosphere of the game. The grass seemed to me very bright. In general, not bad for a short time, well done!
Thank you guys for your review. I do feel bad about the audio though, next developement well definitely try to put audio in for atmosphere and also the FX for attacking.

Looking really fresh! I kind of missed the audio part though, just a few SFXs from BFXR would have improved it a lot. I like that you integrated the "shop" into the gameplay and not having a separate UI for that. Great entry!
I was a lot of fun playing this ! The fact that your camera moves dynamically with the mouse helps focus on what you're targetting and adds to the overall tension of the game. The fact that the game pauses when out of focus is a good idea for action games like this<
What I think could be worked on: I would add a score constantly showing up to make clear that it is an arcade-style game (and that there is no end). It felt a bit too easy and I let myself die after reaching lvl 11 (I wasn't sure whether there was an end or not, so I waited for when I finished lvl 10) Stop the player from going out of the field (since it's square, just making sure the x and y value stay within a certain range should be enough).
These are just details though, the game felt polished and felt very nice to play !
10/10 I was in the middle of buying something and died in the middle of it! The graphics are colorful and amusing, awesome job Kritz & team!

Great, fun, and addicting game! I only bought the speed upgrades and could go across the map in a few seconds by level 9. Love the art style, the game could use some music. I'll be showing this to my younger brothers! Great job!
I think the gameplay was its strong point. I found that the camera was a little too shaky for my taste, but i saw others and they liked it, so it's probably me :upside_down: A soundtrack could have helped :) Overall, nice!
Nice gameplay mechanics and camera controls... It feels very responsive and accurate. Music and SFX would have added so much depth to the game, but hopefully post-jam that will be done :)

Thank you for your compliments on gameplay! I tried my best to code the gameplay to be fun. I knew the camera work was going to be controversial because it was just a tweening to midpoint equation for the time I had :( I planned to tweak a lot of things, but couldn't get to them... Thank you guys for understanding!
@zesix Thank you Zesix. If you are talking about the leaving the map bug, we know about that one but deciding on leaving it for a later version because it didn't affected gameplay. Buuut if you found something else please do tell! I will patch up the known bugs in the next update.
This game is a lot of fun! The movement and combat mechanics _feel_ polished, and things like the camera shake and camera following your cursor adds a lot to the ongoing chaos. I also really enjoyed how you increase your HP with enemy souls, which can then be used for purchasing upgrades. It adds a lot to the replayability, and it kept me coming back for more. By the way, the soul absorption animation is very cool, and it indicates to the player that they are in fact increasing their HP. I think the overall mood could have been improved a little bit. Playing a game where you're absorbing enemy souls and making deals with the devil might be better suited in a darker setting. I think the addition of music and sound effects would also boost the mood quite a bit. Great entry - thanks for making this!
Wow, I really enjoyed playing this game and definitely want more. At first the camera was a little odd to me, actually made me feel a bit dizzy, but after the first level I was just more mindful about how I moved my mouse around. The combat in this game felt sooo good. Every hit felt like a hit, and the attacks felt super solid in terms of aiming/hitting targets. Obviously music and sound would be great but I get it, it's a game jam. Finally it was a touch easy, I felt like if the later levels had more enemies spawning faster it would make for some real fun game play. Again really enjoyed this and I would love to see more. Keep up the great work!!!
Great graphics! I missed some audio feedback. But the game is so fun that I played for a long time. I walked a lot and left the scene, I suggest you make it impossible to walk outside, blocking or generating the background again. Great job!
