don't forget to rate, play and comment on others games to be recognized!

It's an interesting concept and it's cool to grow a cult around this sort of miracle tree :D I would just give more interaction to the player. We have to wait around a lot to get enough followers and we can't really do anything while that is happening. Otherwise, nice job :)

maaya 2019-10-08 11:52

When I played the game was all red, is that normal or am I missing something? It doesn't look like on the pictures. The gameplay was interesting tho, I like that you can speed up the process and don't have to wait too long!

I dont undeerstood ...

Pretty simple game but I like the idea. However, it's very poorly balanced : it seems you can't get more than one evil humans hurting your growth at the same time, so I found it's actually not worth using the Lightning at all, better always use your followers to boost growth. If the evil humans could stack, or maybe if one evil human was enough to just stop growth, then maybe there'd be a reason to use it.

Something which is completely understandable for a jam game but should be removed is the complete randomness of the events. Since they affect your progress so much, it means the end growth of your tree (after 100 years) is going to be mostly random, which isn't such a great feeling for the player.

An enjoyable little game. It needs more ways to interact though.

goudagames 2019-10-08 11:58

I like the idea, although it rained way too often. I never had to use the lightning ability, the rain kept offsetting the evil human, and since there never appeared more than one evil human, it was quite easy.

Speeding up the process was a savior! I agree that more interaction for the player would make the game more fun. Also, the rain health bonus was high enough that I never had to worry about the evil humans. I just kept boosting the tree's growth, and then the game was over. Adding more decision points could also help. Maybe there could be random events where you have to choose whether to sacrifice your followers for something else? Those events could also be an opportunity to build the story so we can understand why the tree has followers in the first place, even though the followers only get the reward of death.

nice clicker game took me a while to understand that (ยดยด)* and (/)/ are supposed to be smileys? the text is displayed to short when on fast forward mode but then don't go in fast fordward mode i guess :D would have been nice if the game had taken a bit longer. the questionmark suggested that there might come some surprise instead the game just ended. instead maybe plant a 2nd tree and make the game infinite? but very nice looking fun game in total and it fits the theme perfectly!

Can you lose in this game? Like @flywolfe said, it would have been nice to be able to do more, or have a harder time growing the tree because right now i'm playing it while writing this comment  Nice looking tree at the end!

Nice game, the animations and graphics are really nice. The evil humans don't do very much damage though, I think because the rain kept on healing the tree. But I do like how you can complete the game with different levels of growth, and that the texture changes accordingly. Good job!

It's good idea but I think you could add more things in game... I really like graphics.

theog 2019-10-08 12:01

Very nice graphics, the sprites are pretty and look pro. As mentioned in the previous comment, we have to wait for too long between actions, but maybe this issue could be solved by adding more sacrifices actions. Otherwise, the gameplay is cool and I like the idea (very addictive and captivating, haha)

kessutinnu 2019-10-08 12:02

Evil humans can be pretty much ignored, rain will come often enough, that the tree is unlikely to die. It is much more useful to just constantly boost growth.

fvafhae 2019-10-08 12:05

Nice game, finished it with almost zero miracle use. Very interesting concept, but you need to think about rebalancing rain frequency or evil human damage. In general, I enjoyed playing it.

congusbongus 2019-10-08 12:06

Haha, love the funny text descriptions. Very bright and colourful! Wish there was sound!

mrerdalural 2019-10-08 12:14

Very cool game idea! I have only two points to criticize about this game.

1. The sprites you created are quite good but you used different pixel per world size for each of them. Keep in mind that if you are using pixel art make sure each pixel of the sprites on the screen looks the same size. This way you will get a more consistent look.

2. The game is too easy. It rains too often that I don't even need to bother killing evil humans for years since the rain is going to restore the missing health so soon. If you are going to improve upon this game idea, you need to come up with a solution to increase the challenge level of the game. Because some people are going to like this game and play it a lot and they will be bored before the play it a lot happens if it is too easy.

A side from those two I think your game is great! Nice work!

Thank you for making this game!

hexcolyte 2019-10-08 13:07

@maaya It does not seem normal, if possible, you could download the windows executable file and see if the issue persist.

We intended to have more depth into the design initially, but due to lack of time, we decided to make it simple and heavily depends on luck, so that the game is at least playable.

Thank you for all of your feedback!

A simple but effective clicker game. No audio makes it a little weird (I saw there's no audio to review either, so all is well), but overall works perfectly. Graphics are nice, on the simpler side of the spectrum. It's heavily reliant on luck, though, but with nice chance to finish the game succesfully. Hopefully next time you can try to have a more restricted scope, but this worked out perfectly! Congratulations, :D!

pretty easy game -- i liked it but i think you could add more to make more challenging -- thanks for making it
