LD45 — Start with nothing

A Hundred Years of a Tree by Hexcolyte 2019-10-08T14:06:05Z

A simple but effective clicker game. No audio makes it a little weird (I saw there's no audio to review either, so all is well), but overall works perfectly. Graphics are nice, on the simpler side of the spectrum. It's heavily reliant on luck, though, but with nice chance to finish the game succesfully. Hopefully next time you can try to have a more restricted scope, but this worked out perfectly! Congratulations, :D!

As others have said, a very cool interpretation of the "start with nothing" theme that we got. Looks cool too! However some of the controls are a bit rough, although I feel like it's part of the game's mechanics (as more control of airtime, coyote time and others would diminish the sense of difficulty navigating the maps). Really enjoyable, glad I checked it out, :D!

Damn, those graphics are nice! Sound and music is also great! I may have a bit of a problem with how some controls respond, but I seriously don't know how would I fix them, :X. There's something weird going on with the gloves, like hanging against a wall even though you just fell from that same wall and then some jumps are really really tight (maybe some coyote time could have helped?). Still, a very cool experience nonetheless!

@los & @starvingindie Thanks for the feedback, :D! Yeah, we didn't have someone who works with sounds / music this time so we did what we could with some simple sound effects made with bfxr. It would really improve the feeling with some added music on top, right? We overscoped a little, as always in this kind of jams, there's like 2 types of enemies that didn't get through the implementation pass and some mechanics that one of the devs (myself, xD) broke at the last minute and it was a bit too late to fix them. We are nevertheless proud of what we managed to get out, <3! Once again, thanks for your time and hope you enjoy the rest of the games!! :D

@theseusinabottle & @allan-urique Yeah, the whole spawning process of slimes is a bit rough, just a WIP thing. First time spawns (e.g: starting a round) should be easily fixable. Spawning from killing a medium or large slime it's a bit trickier, personally I would love to make them spawn from the splatter left after killing them (so they should fly a short distance) but my coding experience says I'm not able to do that (yet, xD). Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it!

@danielhamngren, @pietptr, @toxiccomputer Thanks for your comments too! As for spells, there's a total of 9, some offensive, some defensive. As for rounds, there's a total of 10 rounds, the last one being against King Slime (with some special mechanics for his slimy majesty). Hope someone gets to beat it! :dove:

Sorry guys, been having a couple of rough days at uni, I'll promise I'll get you all an answer in a couple of days + some updates on the game with some features added in, :D! Have a great one!

Well, I've played it for a small bit, controls work perfectly and audio was really nice. Graphics are cool too, but I don't really get what we, as players, are supposed to do. Just revealing entities, repelling the aggresive ones and converting them ad infinitum? It's cool, but kinda repetitive. Maybe with some objective or sense of progression it would do better. Anyway, for a Jam game is really nice, so keep up the good work! :dog:

9 Rooms Many Buttons by PenguinBoy 2019-10-08T14:19:21Z

Pretty straight forward, I really liked my playthrough. Kinda a bit janky with control (as mousse was doing some really weird things for me even in fullscreen), but played it to completition regardless. Choice of color was a bit hard on the eyes, but I guess it played to the mechanics strength hiding some of the buttons and with the whole swapping colors. It needs someway to convey what are you suposed to do next (if that's the plan. it could well be a "everything is there, try until you get it" type of game).

Overall really nice, glad I tried it, :D! Congratulations on your submission!! :D

Loved it! Really cool concept and well developed. I was craving for more after finishing, :D!

If you need some feedback, there's some weird glitches with running and walls, but other players have already said the same.

Great game!! Hope you get a lot of attention after this! :D

Damn, that's a perfect fit for the theme, great job!! Graphics are nice, but I really love the anagrams mechanic. It was great fun, congratulations!!

Loved the audio, those homemade SFX are worth gold, hahaha. Completed it fast (afterall it's just a short point and click adventure), but you left me wondering about that secret ending... It has to do with order of actions? Some pixel perfect click on the screen? I'll keep trying, XD.

Thanks for it, loved it!
